I have been going here for 10 years,it is usually great. So good that I moved to another city and…read moreactually drove over an hour back there for an appointment. But this time not so much. When I went to look for frames instead of the usual questions what style are you looking for what shape ETC. I was told the cheaper ones are on the left and they get more expensive when you move to the right. After I picked out the frames I sat at the table and was asked" What lens do you want"? Uh I don't know what kind do you have? I said I guess just go with what I already have. When the glasses were ready I went in, I was handed the glasses and a card while I was standing by the door. " Can you read this?" I said yes . I was told Ok good if you have any problems come back. Within a few minutes I realized that my reading area was very small and any movement of my head caused blurriness. I went right back. I was brought to the table by one of the regular staff. I explained my issue. She said that the reading area would be smaller because the new frames were narrower than my old ones plus the new frames have no nose piece and that affects the way they sit. I asked her don't you think that I should have been told to me while I was picking out frames. She replied Yes but she wasn't here and that they do not give refunds. They especially don't if insurance was involved. So bottom line is I paid $500.000 dollars for a pair of glasses that I can use as a spare. I have to wait a year before I can get ones that will work correctly and I need to find a new eye Dr. The Doctor is great her staff is not. Very disappointing.

Dr. Dawson was highly recommended by my children's pediatrician but at a different location. We…read moretried to go to that location but they didn't accept our insurance. We looked him up because he was so highly recommended by our pediatrician and found that he works from this office so we decided to make our appointments here. My complaint comes in when we tried to schedule an appointment. They do accept our insurance but we were turned away because they said they need photo identification for my 8 yr old and 11 yr old child. This wasn't mentioned to us until we mentioned our son was Autistic. I have several children and several of my children wear glasses and we have NEVER been asked for identification for our children. We explain we are a homeschool family so there is no way to bring photo I.D. Their response was they will confirm if this will be an issue and call us back to which they never did. We had to call to find out they are refusing services. I have looked everywhere on their website and don't see anywhere on the website that says we will turn you down for services due to lack of identification regardless of age. If their pediatrician who takes a photo for my children's files and can confirm my children's identity is recommending us to a particular Dr that works here why are we being treated with such disregard? Not sure if this is truly a policy because I don't see anywhere on your website other than "we treat you like family" on there or if this is a we don't want your Autistic child here issue which then becomes an even bigger problem. This doesn't feel like proper professional decorum at all. This was our first time dealing with this office my other children have gone to other places and never was I asked for identification at their eye appointments for any of my children. I've asked several other parents and they have stated the same when it comes to making eye appointments for their children. We only tried to go here because our child's pediatrician stated Dr. Dawson is great with children and would be a great choice for our Autistic son. At this point even if the situation is rectified I would never recommend this office just due how it's been handled. I will just go to our usual eye Dr & make sure to let their pediatrician know how Dr. Dawson's office turned away my Autistic son and my daughter due to lack of photo identification with no call back after we were told we would receive a call back to confirm. If this policy is correct please state this on your website. I myself wear glasses and have also never been asked for identification when going to an appointment. I will also be asking in the several autistic support groups & homeschooling groups I am in about this office to find out if this is a pattern from this location or just a personal isolated event.

I was able to make an appointment and was seen shortly upon arrival. It was a great experience…read morefrom start to finish. They were able to take an image of my eye and I was able to avoid dilation. Dr. Desrosiers did a very thorough exam was very helpful in explaining and answering questions throughout. I was able to order a pair of glasses after my exam and look forward to receiving them!
