Fernando started a manipulation regimen to loosen the muscles in my neck and allow for more movement and improve my posture. She is very stubborn and didn't want to do the required 3 hours of therapy/day. The therapists were unfailingly polite and professional, but would not take no for an answer. Despite herself, she progressed very well. I am sure that she improved more here than she would have anywhere else in this part of Florida. And the food is great, too! Case manager Tina was very helpful, and always kept me in the loop regarding the plan of action and her progress. My only complaint? They are a short-term rehab facility. Their average stay is 10-12 days. My mother has definitely improved, but she had basically no mobility when she arrived and will definitely need more therapy before she's ready to go back to her home by herself. So we are looking for another short term assisted living or skilled nursing facility so that she can make enough progress to go home. I really wish she could stay here for another 2 weeks with her excellent team, but they won't change their policy. I am sure that wherever she ends up won't be half as nice as Encompass!
