We put off painting our ugly green home in Montara for years, and finally went for it! Moises gave us a very reasonable quote, and was very patient with us as we evaluated the potential color schemes. Ultimately, everything we went with was because of his recommendations, and we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Why didn't we do this years ago?! We highly recommend Moises and his crew for your exterior home painting. read more

Moises and his crew did an outstanding job with the outside painting of our two story house. The team were careful to protect our property and cleaned up throughly at the end of each day. Huge shout out to Moises Contreras, Oceanside Quality Painting, Inc! (650) 520-8788 Excellent workmanship by two of his crew (Hector & Leo) to paint the exterior of my house. Very reasonable pricing. Moises is very hands on. He and his crew take great pride in their work and it shows. I couldn't be happier with the results and the customer service provided. Highly recommend for any house painting, inside or out. read more

I've used painters before and there's been no one like Moises. His attention to detail, diligence and responsiveness make him a great person to do business with and someone who can help maintain the value of your home. He pointed out many things that others had not addressed but that needed repair (e.g. dry rot ) before painting and made sure that everything was done to a high degree of quality. read more

We're so glad we found Oceanside Painting! After extensive research, Moises truly stood out for his exceptional attention to detail, expertise, honesty, and hands on approach. His team arrived early, worked diligently, and delivered quality results on our painting project. His fantastic carpenter also did custom trim work around our exterior which was a big help & bonus. Moises is in high demand, and for good reason--he's definitely worth the wait! We're already planning our next painting project and will contact Moises without hesitation. Thank you, Oceanside Painting! read more

Moises and his team did an amazing job painting the exterior of our house. The quality of his crew's work and Moises' attention to detail were off the charts - and their pricing was very competitive with other bids we received. We could not be happier with how our house turned out and we will absolutely be using Oceanside Painting again for any and all future paint work that we need done. read more

We had a very poor experience with moises and Oceanside painting. The entire project was quite expensive yet we were continuously told to pay extra in order to get a quality job. Well, a 19K bid then became over 24K with extras. What's worse is that in most cases, the money paid to get good quality resulted in just OK quality and many missed spots. During the course of a three week job, I was forced to monitor their work in detail and continuously point out missed spots and poor workmanship. Moises' standard reply was "just don't look too closely." This is not the position of someone who does quality work. Zero pride, serious lack of professionalism. In the end, the stair rail was botched and I had to pay twice to have it painted. The outside doors were painted the wrong shade of black despite having given him the paint color and brand. Many areas were improperly prepped or not prepped at all. The entry wall was repeatedly abraded and re-painted resulting in shiny spots; I asked that it be corrected and it was not. At the end, he did not honor the punch list, nor did he stand behind his work. The icing on this unfortunate cake: his crew failed to prime the ceiling on one of bedrooms and the paint began to bubble within two weeks. I contacted moises repeatedly (3x in writing) to have this fixed and was flat out ignored, forcing me to hire another local painted (who was excellent) to fix the issues he caused. If you want quality work without hassle, avoid this guy at all costs. There are excellent local painters who will give you one number and then stick to it rather than nickel and diming you, and subsequently delivering a mediocre result. In the end, we got 'ok', paid 25% extra to get it, and then had to spend another $3500 to correct issues that should have minimally been addressed via the punch list. All in, we paid a 40% premium over the original bid and I think the pictures tell the story. Sadly, there are many more where these came from including three exterior black doors that do not match the trim color of the house. Feel free to contact me directly if you're considering this company and want more information about our experience. read more

Thanks Moises Contreras and crew of Oceanside Painting! I chose them because of the great vibe, trustworthiness, and great communication. Moises was always available for questions and consultations. They painted the exterior of my coastside house and took time to clean it, repair any stucco, and apply the many layers of primer and paint. They took care of every detail and things I didn't even think of. I also saw their house painting jobs in my area and knew they were good. The contract was well done and the pricing was great. read more

Oceanside Painting was referred to me by my realtor to prepare my 58 year old family home for sale. There was so much work to do and I didn't think it could be handled in the short period we had allotted to him. Especially as family was still living in the home and running a business in the home at the same time. Talk about a difficult job to agree to do. Moises worked with us to bring his crew in for the different phases of work, working overtime and on weekends to get the job done. When we experienced a problem with the staining of the deck Moises listened to my complaint and quickly resolved the issue to my satisfaction. When the time for the final punch list came, Moises followed the list and corrected each item. I have worked with my share of contractors over the years and when it came to focusing on details (ie the punch list) there has almost always been grumbling and being called "too picky" and it was often like pulling teeth. Not in this experience. This is how I would sum up my experience. No worries. Moises had a very calm approach, switching anxiety into satisfaction. He didn't grapple over dissatisfaction, he listened then he resolved. No business does everything perfectly. I don't care how good you are. The proof is in how you approach problems and "do-overs". I wouldn't hesitate to call on Oceanside Painting again. Thank you Moises for a job well done. read more

Moises hard working crew transformed our home into a much more contemporary look for not much money or time. Their prep work was very detailed and labor intensive. Due to our proximity to the ocean, their involved prep is very important. We expect this paint job to last a long time, despite the salt air on the coast. After the paint work was complete, we had some new windows installed. The paint was damaged and Moises immediately sent a painter to do touch up work at no charge. We feel confident that we got our money's worth and more. Very pleased! read more

Outstanding service and quality. We got three estimates on our place before choosing Oceanside. Moises, the owner, was always great with communication and responsiveness. His crew was meticulous about prep, which was very involved for our place, which was going from stain to paint. Moises is knowledgeable about this area and the challenges of painting in cool and humid weather, picking different products than most. He was always flexible, willing to drop by quickly to answer questions, and operates with the highest integrity. read more

Oceanside Painting is amazing! I'd give them billions of stars if I could. Moises is knowledgeable, he listened to our concerns about our little redwood sided house built in the 50s, and the end result is a darling bungalow. He helped us pick the colors which was fun. The crew was great as well, with meticulous attention to detail. They prepped the house diligently and overall we could not have been happier. They even added wood trim to our old windows that had never had trim and the craftsmanship is excellent. We will definitely use Oceanside Painting for all our future painting needs! read more

I can't say enough about Moises and the Oceanside Painting team. Starting from my initial engagement with Moises and all through the project's completion, Moises was there to answer questions, address concerns and take us through the many options that were available for our home's painting project prior to moving in. What was most refreshing was how Moises found the right balance between listening and recommending. When the project began, the entire Oceanside crew was equally professional and respectful throughout the project. They were meticulous in all phases of the job starting from the preparation phase, throughout the painting of almost all of our home (including kitchen and stairway), down to the detail trim-work. What's more is that Moises has a fantastic memory drawing from many past jobs and homes, which made me feel that we were making the correct decisions all the way through. We are so grateful for not only the quality of their work but also for making a new friend in the community. I would recommend Oceanside Painting without hesitation! read more

After painting our exterior, it was pretty obvious that our interior needed some SERIOUS updating. Cesar of Oceanside stepped in and worked with us for hours on discussing possible color combos/accents for the various rooms in the house. Once again, an incredibly fair price for a complicated (unbeknownst to them, methinks) job. Oceanside moved everything out of the targeted room, primed, sealed, put in two coats of paint, and then moved everything back in. The whole house took two weeks (and it would have taken me two months), and the guys did a GREAT job of taking care of each room of the house. Can't recommend them enough. read more

Oceanside Painting is a long time customer of ours and we were just waiting for the purchase of our first home to close and we called Moses ASAP! We will for sure use them again if ever needed! Thank you again for your great work and fast time line! We are home and its awesome. Thank you, Thank you. read more

Moises and his team was outstanding and left us very happy and pleased with their work on painting our 4 large decks in less than 2 days! We decided to put out home on the market Monday afternoon, called Moises and his team Tuesday, and he was out to paint Wednesday and Thursday - and the house was ready for market and showings by Friday of that week! Amazing! Also, I wasn't sure of the right color choice for our decks, as we had mistakenly gotten rid of the paint cans in the garage, so I put my trust in Moises to choose a few colors he thought were pretty close to what we had. He came back the next day with 2 paint samples and we found the perfect match -- he totally nailed it. Totally taking the stress and worry off of us. We are grateful for his expertise, professionalism and kindness throughout our brief but crucial time frame of refreshing the beauty of our home. He really went above and beyond to help us with our housing needs. We highly recommend Moises and his crew to anyone that has high standards as we do. Thank you Moises & crew. This review is long overdue! In January, Moises and his crew painted the exterior of our 2-story home. Moises is so professional, so friendly and takes a lot of pride in his business. The results were excellent. Moises and his team sand off paint chips, look for rotting side boards and will replace them, putty in gaps and thoroughly pressure wash before beginning the painting process. The crew was so tidy, respectful of our plants around the house and were happy to modify some of the frame lines when we requested the changes. Moises inspected the work at the end of the process and made sure we were happy before wrapping up the work. We highly recommend Oceanside Painting. read more

Moises and his team were fantastic! They spent nearly 2.5 weeks painstakingly painting the exterior of our home and the results speak for themselves. I'd highly recommend Oceanside. They're busy for a reason. read more

Moises and his crew just finishing painting the exterior of our home and I can recommended him highly for any painting work you have to do. From providing an estimate to clean-up, he was a pleasure to deal with. At the start of the work, Moises spent time with us helping us select the right color. It helped that he had painted so many houses in the neighborhood and so was able to show us examples how the different shades would look with different trims etc. His estimate was straightforward with no extras etc. His crew showed up on-time everyday and were extremely courteous and offered to answer questions and address concerns at every opportunity. I couldn't believe how thorough the prep work was, every gap was caulked and metal surface was treated. Moises found some dry rot on a window frame and fixed it himself charging us for time and materials. The job took about 2 weeks from beginning to end and we are really happy with the results. Moises is busy for a reason so if you're planning a job, call him early! read more

Moises and his crew painted the outside of my house, and stained the redwood deck and front steps as well. I was impressed that they came back at my request two times to fix several small areas that needed more paint. I thought the price was fair for this area. They want to make their customers happy. Moises always returned my phone calls and emails promptly and he addressed all my concerns. They worked on my house in November so there was rain to deal with but they worked around that and I am happy with the end result. Oceanside Painting is the best! read more

Oceanside Painting - Exterior of house painted and deck stained by Oceanside Painting - Painters Near Me - Half Moon Bay, California

Where do I begin about Moises....the saving grace sent to me from the heavens above. We had our floors and baseboards replaced throughout our new condo. Me, being the DIY person, thought "I can paint the baseboards, walls, etc...no big deal." Wrong! I spent a weekend painting the baseboards and trim while my husband painted the ceilings. When applying the second coat, I realized some paint from the ceiling had dripped on the baseboards, causing me to sand it down only to have the paint start peeling off completely. This less than two weeks before our move in date and I was running out of time. I called Moises on a Monday, he happily met me in the evening. I was almost in tears showing him the peeling paint. He simply said "Even if you don't hire me, here's what you need to do..." Then he proceeded to tell me the first thing I should do is to take the paint back to Lowe's and get my money back and he explained step by step of what I would need to do with the baseboards, trim and doors. I explained to Moises our budget and time constraints and he definitely worked with us. He began on Wednesday, painted the baseboards, trims, 9 doors throughout the house, and the walls/ceilings and closets of the two bedrooms. Moises and his crew were done by Monday. Moises even helped me with my colors. Searching for the "perfect gray" was proving to be the difficult task, especially since I wanted the accent wall in the master bedroom to be blue. I had about 6 shades of gray on the wall when he visited. I had already selected the blue, which he approved of and quickly nixed 5 grays. We were left with one gray, which I really liked and he somewhat approved of, but said we needed to go lighter. So, that's what he did. He took the paint can to OceanShore Hardware, had them match it, then had them go 20% lighter (because I was scared to go any lighter). I came to view it the next day and said "there's too much blue." He asked me to trust him and said that he was going to have them take some blue out of the formula and go a little lighter. And now...I have the perfect gray with no name and just a formula on the can! But I couldn't be happier. I can't wait for Moises and his crew to come and finish the rest of my house....once Moises and I can decide on a color palette. Clearly, I can't make color decisions without his opinion. :-) read more

I am so glad we found Moises. He was amazing. We decided to repaint our home and so we started getting estimates. Moises was our first and I have to say, even though we had other estimates after, I was sold with him with our first meeting. You know how sometimes you can just tell that working with someone is just going to be a positive experience? That was the case with Oceanside Painting. Once we began work, he was very patient with my requests as to how I wanted the colors and finish to be. What impressed me the most is that he had some amazing suggestions that would have never occurred to me without his expertise. My house looks amazing. People comment to me all the time that they love the look. Besides the outcome being such a good experience, Moises is great to work with. Friendly, honest and efficient, he's everything you are looking for in a painter. Thanks Moises! We refer you to anyone we know who needs painting because simply, you are the best. read more

I interviewing over a 1/2 dozen local painters for my 1750 sq feet 1 level home in the El Granada section of Half Moon Bay. There were several factors who influenced my decision. 1) Price 2) Knowledge of potential painting hiccups (dry rot) and 3) Who would actually be painting my home. We immediately connected with Moises and his price point was a great price point for us. In addition he was painting a local restaurant whom I know wouldn't have hired him without a good reputation and our Awesome Real Estate agent who sold us the house said she had very positive experiences with him in the past (Thanks Marian Bennett - Coldwell Banker). He was patient and didn't make us feel rushed with the process. We thought we had colors picked out, however a consultation with a local color expert had a slight delay. Ultimately resulting in a flawless, fantastic job. Moises had a team of 2-3 guys throughout the process. He wasn't the one who painted, however he watched over these laborers and was always a quick visit/phone call away. The guys worked there A$$'s off between sanding, prepping, and protecting. They were courteous and always let the place cleaner than they found it. We ended up having them also do work on the interior. Again they were responsive, personable and respectful inside our home and I appreciated that. I would highly recommend Moises's Team to complete an exterior or interior job at any time. Their pricing is very fair and the quality exceeded our expectations. read more

Long overdue review here! We bought our 1st house 6 months ago, and the only improvement we could afford to do was to have most of the interior repainted. What a difference Moises and his team made! We hired Moises to paint the exterior of our house in November 2018. His estimate was a very fair price, and due to high demand, we had to wait a few months for a spot in his schedule. He was great to work with on the details of the colors to use, specific paint types, brand, making the right decisions, etc. The crew was really great onsite, from the prep work to the final day of finishing the project, which was very timely. They kept the site very clean and orderly the entire time. The quality of the painting was excellent and we are very happy to have chosen Oceanside Painting for our home. I highly recommend Moises and his company for painting work. read more

We are very happy that we chose Moises! We solicited bids from several painting contractors, but where Moises stood high above the rest was the detail in his quote and the fact that he came out to explain the whole process. Oceanside Painting pays attention to the details, such as caulking trim and moulding, using Rustoleum on nails to prevent staining in the years to come, and thoroughly preparing the house before painting. And, we never came home to a mess after a day's work. Moreover, Moises was patient in our paint selection. We had never painted a house before so he gave us options and recommendations and painted multiple samples on our house to help us decide - he did the same for the railings we were staining. All-in-all a WONDERFUL experience. We will not use anyone other than Moises for our next project. read more

My God I am so negligent! I am recommending a painting service to a friend so I figured I would just point him in the direction of my Yelp review. So, to my horror, I find I missed writing a review for Moises and his crew. Oceanside painted my house in Montara at the beginning of this summer. Right from the initial quotes period to the final inspection, they were ultra professional and made sure everything was done properly. I work during the day so I was not around while the majority of the work was being done. A few neighbors on my block work from home or are retired and without any solicitation from me they commented on how professional and respectful this team operates. The paint job turned out fantastically! My house has never looked better. read more

These guys were great!! We hired them to paint our house in HMB. Moises was responsive and got us set up with an estimate that seemed very reasonable. Our house is a wood-sided bungalow built in 1929, and it had years of old paint built up on the exterior. Moises's guys scraped layers and layers of old paint off by hand, down to the original wood in most places. Then they sanded and power-washed the house before painting primer and final coat. There was a mix-up with the paint trim color, but Moises went and got the right color and re-did the trim right away no problem. Now the house looks beautiful. They did a wonderful job!! Would definitely recommend. read more

We hired Moises and his team to paint our house, replace woodwork from termite damage, and rebuild our deck. The quality and professionalism they delivered were outstanding. Moises was careful to go through our preferences with us on the materials and paints used, and was totally informed about the +/-'s of each option, and took time to explain them to us in detail (we're first-time homeowners, so we ended up leaning on his recommendations on many things - he has exceptional taste and an eye for detail).
