I would give this business a zero if I could. Have rented from multiple companies in the past and this is hands down the worst company I've ever dealt with. It started with the unit I rented being sold and no longer available, I was offered options of replacements and although I picked one they told me they had already booked me in another. We arrived to a unit that wasn't cleaned, there was sand all over the floor, mold all over the air registers, and what was months worth of dust on the walls. My wife took almost two hours cleaning on our first day of vacation. I reached out to them about it and heard nothing for our entire trip. We went to go to bed the first night and the beds had to have been 40 years old. You could feel every spring and they were LOUD. We ended up buying air mattresses on our vacation to sleep comfortably. Beyond that, the slider to the patio was broken, only I could open it, the kitchen was missing cabinet doors and the couch had rust marks all over it. I reached out multiple times during my trip, got no response, and it wasn't until I said I would be contacting Consumer Affairs of SC that they called me. They took no accountability, said the contract I signed released them of all liability (I never signed a contract for the unit they put me in, but rather the one they sold) and basically told me tough luck. Our experience could hardly have been worse. rented a condo 1203 , 1bedroom at Holiday Sands South paid over $1900.00 for the week. Walked in the bathroom door was hanging by one hinge ! The condo was extremely beat up. Rust on the bottom of appliances, sticky door pulls on kit cupboards ,food debris in one shelf. Patio door track so full of dirt you could barely open the door. one stove burner did not work at all. Went to front desk to report damage he was very abrupt said not our problem owner owns condo. Worst experience I've had with a vacation. The air conditioning didn't work in the bedroom. I called and the guy that answered said do I need someone to come look at it today. I said yes sir. He said well let me see if we have availability. Long story short, ac guy shows up and it's been dead for so long it has to be replaced. I was sweating and puking all night. I asked for a refund through Airb&b. They lied and said that THEY OFFERED A SIMILAR ROOM FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND THAT I DECLINED. There was also no vacuum in the unit. We did call and ask for one, but they never delivered it...but of course they said they would. I reserved a condo in Myrtle Beach thru VRBO site for June 30, 2019 to July 7, 2019 at a stated rate. Corresponded via VRBO 4 messages with someone stated to be Bradley Bennett the owner and determined availability and had invoice sent to me. I paid my 50% deposit on 10-12-18. On 11-9-2019, I received an email that the reservation would need to be cancelled due to the incorrect rate for the rental. They wanted $92 more per night. This is not what the stated amount was on VRBO and when I contacted the property manager company I was given very lame answers and no resolution for the issue. I spoke to the manager Michelle Johnson and customer service rep Ashley. THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THE RATES AS STATED. They do not honor the agreement for rentals. The address on this property was 101 Draxton Road. I have filed a complaint with VRBO regarding this matter and other consumer complaint agencies. Owner should not be able to breach contract and agreements once agreed upon and deposit is paid. They stated they were cancelling 5 other rental agreements as well. Pictures were very deceiving. The room, lobby, and pool area were all very dirty and not well maintained at all. We even witnessed multiple cockroaches in the hallway. The worst part of our stay was the fact that fireworks were going off on the beach right outside of our balcony every single night until 1 am - 2 am. It got to the point where we decided to stay the last few nights of our trip in a different hotel more inland. I spoke to the manager of Oceanfront Guru about our poor situation and she had absolutely nothing to offer and showed zero sympathy. Run fast, run far from Ocean Front Guru. We rented a "luxury" oceanfront condo in August for $3,500. It was ran down and out of date, had mold in the master bath shower, was not particularly clean and Wi-Fi and tv did not work. After attempting to rectify the Wi-Fi problem we learned, by calling the provider, that the condo owner had not paid his bill. The service was unavailable for four of our seven day stay. We made several calls to Ocean Front Guru Explaining that members of our party were working remotely and the Wi-Fi was a must. Also our key to the fitness facility did not work. They were not responsive to the point that we finally drove to their office. After our meeting they offered to refund 10% of our rental fee and possibly the cleaning fee. They said the refund would be credited to our credit card. They gave us a second key to the fitness center that did not work either. Needless to say we never received either credit and they never responded to our inquiries about the refund. Obviously from reading other reviews this seems to be their standard of operating. They lie to your face, do not provided services advertised and will not reply to communications. read more

We rented a room through airbnb.com. We were really unhappy with the accommodation once we arrived in Myrtle Beach. Oceanfront manages the unit so we contacted them to explain the issues (leaking sink, bugs, and overall really run down unit). It looked nothing like the images posted on line. Charles came out to see the unit and got us a beautiful place that completely exceeded our expectations! They literally saved our vacation! The representative that helped me find a rental was awesome. She corresponded with me, when she was on vacation. The reason why i gave them 3-stars is because I never received the email that advised me the code to the condo that I was staying in. Also, the room needed to be swept, refrigerator needed to be cleaned and there were dirty dishes, pots and pans. Now, the manager of Oceanfront guru, I believe her name is Celeste. She dropped off the parking passes to the condo and left them on the kitchen counter. I would have thought she would have insured that the room was clean. My family and I was placed with this third party vacation rental company through #homeaway.com which is a site we use every year to rent our vacation home in Florida. We never had a bad experience until this past weekend after arriving after hours to our unit. Once arriving to our condo we smelled mold and found mold in the window air conditioner unit, the freezer and dust backed up in the air return vents and bathroom vents. There was even multiple bulges coming out of the wall panel with rusted nails and paint chipping and bubbling from the wall which indicated water damage. I have two child with asthma which one began coughing after being in the room after 10 minutes I knew there was a mold issue. To make matters worst we went outside on the balcony to get fresh air and determined where we were going to stay that night after traveling from Florida when we found a wasp nest above our balcony and wasp flying around us. We decided that we would not stay there and would contact property management the next morning. After contacting property management and sending pictures of the maintenance issues they informed us that Michelle which is the property manager would contact us in regards to a refund. I finally talked to Michelle and expressed my concern and explained why we did not stay at the unit which is why we wanted a refund. She informed us that her property owner Bradley Bennett would not refund us because we did not cancel within 30 days of renting which makes absolutely no sense because why would we cancel something without knowing the issue until we got there. Additionally Bradley stated that we did not give them time to rectify the issue which makes no sense considering we got in after hours and Mold is not something that can be cleaned up in a matter of hours especially when we were only staying for a short period of time. These maintenance issues were clearly neglected and have been issues for some time. Not the renters problem!!!! Bradley should have just refunded our money now I have had to report them to everyone! The HOA of the property, consumers affairs, and filing a small claims over their own negligence. I've even reported to HomeAway so hopefully they will stop doing business with this fraud of a management company. Right is right and fair is fair!!! We have used Oceanfront Guru's for three+ years to rent in Myrtle Beach, SC. I have never once had an issue with the agency or the facility rented. We have done our due diligence on both the agency and the facility we are renting and everything has always been perfect. I appreciate the Southern Hospitality when you call and they have always been ready and willing to take care of our business. The negative reviews are actually things that Oceanfront Guru's really have no control over. If they knew the toilet was not going to work during your stay- trust me they would have fixed etc. We are always pleased to do business with them and working with Ashley there has been seamless. I booked a 2 bedroom condo using this company thru VRBO. Our reservation apparently failed to go thru to them from what I'm told. The night before I messaged them to get my checkin details. I received a phone call saying my reservation was doublebooked. They offered us a one bedroom condo at another resort as compensation. I found a 3 bedroom that was only ~$250 more. I offered this up for them to book for me, but was told it wasn't owned by them so they couldn't make it work. I was offered a refund or $250 off of the one bedroom which didn't meet my family needs. I cancelled and booked the other rental I found. I asked this company to pay the difference and they declined to help me out. They feel like refunding my money was the best compensation they could do. I don't see that as compensation at all as they received money from two people for one rental. I now found out that VRBO will not refund my money for 3 to 4 weeks. This is some vacation having all my money tied up in two different rentals and making for a very stressful vacation week. I plan to file a complaint with VRBO also. I wanted to make sure anyone using Oceanfront Gurus knew what kind of customer service you are dealing with. read more

Do not use this rental agency to book anything, upon calling them 6 days prior to our week long reservation, they told us that our 2 bedroom oceanfront rental at Brighton towers, with wrap around balcony would not be usable. They were not able to confirm a substitute rental. this put us in a terrible bind just 6 days before our vacation. We got stuck in a 1 room hotel, had to pay for all of our meals,and spent more on the hotel. This company acted like this was our fault and did not offer any form of additional compensation or even perhaps a complimentary stay. This management company is extremely unethical, and I would avoid renting from them EVER. My son, an Airbnb newbie, accidentally double booked the "Guru's" Myrtle Beach property. We discovered this the next day and asked that they cancel one of the bookings. They ignored my email, and ignored my emails the following two days. I officially cancelled that day, and instead of giving me a full refund as anyone would do, they retained $650 of my money because of their "strict cancellation" policy. I arrived and after a 13 hour drive found the directions for finding the building entrance and the unloading area not clear, also noted that the unit # was not printed on any of the paperwork received from the property manager, Oceanfront Guru. I had to call the number to ask where to go from the convenient store and get the unit #. The phone was answered by someone that spoke poor English. I struggled through getting her my contact # and waited for a call back. Dalton Dellinger, from Oceanfront Guru returned my call, I had spoken to Dalton earlier in the day when I called to see if the condo was ready. During the second call, I expressed my frustration with the directions and the missing information. Dalton's response to that was, "I TOLD YOU WHEN YOU CALLED EARLIER". I was shocked that he would take this opportunity to argue with me...if he had told me, I didn't recall and as a customer I felt I was certainly within my rights to ask again. I tried to put it behind me and move on, excited to start my vacation and get some rest. I was looking forward to a nap before a planned dinner with my friends that live in Myrtle Beach. Within 5 minutes of entering the condo, I realized the rest I was planning was not in my future. There was construction going on somewhere over my head. A loud compressor and vibrating sound surrounded the condo. I understand that maintenance needs to happen, but I think I should have been made aware so I could have planned accordingly. I contacted the property manager, again Dalton, and asked how long I could expect the noise to continue. He knew nothing but said he would try to find out. I received a call back saying the noise should end about 5:00 PM. I went out and returned about 6:00 the noise was still going on so I contacted Oceanfront Guru and again spoke to Dalton. By now I was obviously annoyed and exhausted Dalton's response to me, "you are really being unfair". He then said that I needed to understand that they only manage a few properties in this building, and there are limit to what they can do to help. "UNFAIR", me REALLY... This morning I was woken up at 7:30 am by the same construction noise I experienced on my arrival. So much for quiet coffee on the balcony listening to ocean waves, its 9:30 and the noise is in full swing. I opted not to contact anyone at Oceanfront Guru. Obviously they are not interested or concerned about the "customer experience" and if you rent here don't expect help from anyone on property. I tried to ask them for help and it is obvious there is a riff between them and this company. As far as the condo, it is very nice, pleasantly decorated, comfortable and well kept. It's obvious that the condo owners care about the unit and their guests. It's unfortunate that the politics of the property management company and the situation in this building is doing them such and injustice. read more
