I called Ocean Chem-Dry on a Friday and I got an appointment for the next day! My carpets and couch were horribly stained. The couch is 32 years old and the carpet is 5 years old. They had never been cleaned. My off white couch was yellowed and my carpets had dirt and food stains. Edwing did an incredible job! He worked very hard and the carpets and couch are so clean now. These guys are the best. I've been getting my carpet and sofas and even bed mattresses cleaned by them for years. I always come back to them because: (1) They are environmentally friendly. I have 2 dogs and so it matters to me that what is being used is non-toxic. (2) They are able to get out some major puppy stains! (3) The guys are super courteous and actually remember you - it's rare to have that personal touch nowadays so that always makes a positive difference for me. Made an appointment a week ago for today and was given a schedule of 12 noon to 1pm. Edwin came at 2:30ish what Alonzo has promised. I expected to pay $82 based on the coupon at bestbuyguide but after assessment of my carpet I was told I have to add $45 for spot removal. Disappointed of course but I had to do it. My disappointment was understood by Edwin & he seems to be apologetic. I am very unhappy with the service because they advertise specifically that they specialize in pet odors and stains. I had pet urine odor on my couch and chair and paid $228 for a " special treatment" that was supposed to illuminate the stain and odor. However, it only Made it worse! Even weeks later it was such a strong smell of chemicals and urine that I could not be in my own living room. I called and they came out and retreated it to no avail. The gentleman who came out to my house both times was very nice and I believe he did a good job on his end. But the company owner gives false promises. I had to throw out my furniture and buy new. Don't fall for the false claims! read more

Reposted my 2011 review because some AI at yelp supressed my review 2.0 star rating 7/9/2011 Ok, if I could give them 2.5 stars, I would. Because they were available on short notice (although this is not always a good sign), the price was very competitive, and the guys who showed up were cool and did a really good job on our little apartment carpet--the part that they actually cleaned anyway. It was really soiled, and they got it all out. Dried in hours, too. Which is a plus. Before I describe my problem with their service, let me say up front that I understand that carpet cleaners must have nightmare scenarios that they deal with all the time when someone pulls back a couch or large piece of furniture and exposes dust, dirt, food, and hair and gods-knows-what that hasn't seen the light of day since 1977. I get that. I intentionally pulled every piece of furniture out and cleaned and vacuumed before they arrived. Then I put them back in place. I have a large sectional and a few medium sized tables. Nothing real heavy. All slide-able. I pointed at them and said to the guys, "I vacuumed under there." After they finished and we paid them, I pulled back a sectional piece to see how it looked. It was a different color. It still is. They didn't clean under there. We were outside while they worked, but it turns out their policy is, "We never move a piece of furniture unless you ASK us too." So they just go around anything that is in their way. I was very disappointed, especially since it was CLEAR that there were no nightmares waiting under my couches, and I specifically said so. The small time one-man operation I called in to clean my carpets last year assumed that when I asked to have my carpet cleaned, it means the entire room. Everything. So....hopefully this post will help both sides of the operation: Don't stick your cleaners with nasty grime from the Reagan administration, but make sure you tell them to clean every square inch of carpet in the room! read more

This is the second time I've used Ocean Chem-Dry. They are easy to reach, do a great job at a very good price. Edwing, a great technician and co-owner is very punctual, pleasant and does a great job. He moved all the furniture and cleaned every inch of the main room plus 3 area rugs. I think the price is very reasonable and I will definitely call again. I highly recommend them. I called ChemDry after receiving a money mailer to do 3 rooms for $76. While I saw other places advertising for cheaper, they had terrible reviews. Plus Ocean Chem-Dry advertised the carpets would be dry in 1-2 hours. I was worried it would be a bait-and-switch operation or they would hard sell you additional spot cleaning. The carpet cleaner showed up early (!) and recommended the spot cleaner, but he in no means pressured my husband into buying it. He cleaned the carpets quickly and helped move the couches back into place. I was in the shower when he showed up and by the time I got out, my husband said he'd already left. So it didn't take long. The carpets look much cleaner. While the results are not miraculous, I can definitely tell a difference and I'm pleased with the result. We had a couple set-in stains that were pretty visible now. They're not completely gone but you have to look for them now. It's been about two hours since he left and the carpets are probably 90% dry. Overall I would use Ocean Chem-Dry again. read more
