A beautiful place to eat, with great food. A great selection of delicious meals. Staff are all lovely and the waiting time is very short. I loved the feel of the place as it very laid back and chilled whilst being starve modern and sophisticated. I would highly recommend this as a place to eat. nice food, full bar, good wine with a decent view. A place to relax and catch-up with friends omg this place gets extremly busy when its hot outside and its ideal for the likes of us that "hate" sand with a passion, to have a glass of wine sitting on their outside decking (with full rectratable cover), watching the "mad englishman" (lol i'm english too) on the beach. but even when the sun isn't out and it might even be wet and windy this pace is always busy, with a missed crowed of families, young and not so young couples, friends catching up and ladies that lunch. i would come here for breakie, lunch and early dinner (not really a late night place for me) you have two options, sit in the bar area and self service or within the restaurant area - service here can deffiently be a bit hit and miss, but nothing devestating Breakie on a sat / sunday morning gets very busy and the wait can stack up, plus sometimes I'm not sure the bar staff are connecting with the kicthen and things can seem a bit unorganised (i.e. your not 100% sure your order is going to be correct, but hey your never rushed here, plus it can always make for an interesting game with your friends) read more

A lovely restaurant on the beach away from the main Southend seafront - closer to Thorpe Bay. The view of the sea are amazing and there is outside seating, perfect for summer evenings! Ocean Beach serves tow different menus - lunchtime baguettes and bar snacks at the bar during the day and full sit down meals in the main restaurant after 6pm in the evening. There is a small bar so this is a great place to come for quiet drinks in the evening. read more

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I'll start with the positives: i) It's right on the beach and has a huge deck so it's a fantastic venue for outdoor drinks or dinner on a summer's evening, especially when the tide is in; ii) The food is great and I've never had a bad meal here. Now the negatives: i) The staff are a bit snooty and don't particularly welcome children, even very early in the evening when the restaurant is by no means full; ii) We have been rushed through meals before when the restaurant has been busy; iii) The acoustics aren't great so when the restaurant is crowded it seems really noisy and you do end up shouting to be heard. Finally, an interesting fact. In its previous life, this restaurant was a public toilet. read more

The food is average and though the prices are a bit high; the quality of the food is generally representive of this; if only the same could be said about the staff; which often seem to be looking down their noses at you if they resent serving you. There's nothing overly negative about eating here; but there are numerous other places nearby that I'd go to first before eating here in the near future. read more

The view of the beach is amazing from this restaurant, and on a hot sunny day I can fool myself I am somewhere more glamourous than Southend on Sea. The food is pretty standard but every time I have been the staff have been really attentive and accommodating , especially when I have brought my son with me. They provide highchairs, room for the buggy and extra touches such as little salad nibbles for my son to gum on whilst I was eating my meal. They offer a restaurant menu for eating inside and a cafe lunch style menu for eating in the conservatory, which is great depending on your budget although overall the food does work out a little pricey. read more

popped down this bank holiday to Southend on sea and brought the weather with us. it didn't stop raining. first time visit in this restaurant, The food is OK. you get what you pay for. The staff where fairly friendly . The food worked out a bit pricey but as it was raining outside didn't mind to much has a great view of the beach. read more

Ocean Beach is in a wonderful location, on the Southchurch seafront. There are great views of the estuary, especially at sunset. The bar has tables inside for coffee/snacks as well as on the beach verandah which has steps down onto the sand. There is also another section indoors for those who are having a meal. A limited selection of snacks can be ordered for eating outside. At times in the summer the outdoor area can be over-whelmed with children which doesn't always make for a relaxing experience. The toilets are open to the public during the day - as they are downstairs there is no disavled access although there is wheelchair/buggy access to the cafe/restaurant at the opposite end to the main entrance. read more

We have eaten here twice now. We found the food excellent and of good quality.The staff were attentive and interacted well. Food was served hot and we did not have to wait long. Would recommend this restaurant and bar to anyone. The view over the water is fantastic. read more

Great selection of fresh fish both starters and mains. Very well presented and varied menu. Service was very good. Wine selection was adequate. Very very disapointing except for the location and view! The staff is unprofessional and laidback. Being the first clients on a sunday morning, we ordered 2 vegetarian breakfasts and were told that they had ran out of veggie options and when we asked if we could have normal breakie we were replied the kitchen can;t amend the plates!!! and so they ve lost 2 good clientsfor good read more

Charming full bar, lovelyfood - i'd say any Essexuals in need of a drink would do well here. But it's worth the drive even for non Essexuals, my mate drove in from Finsbury Park and was well chuffed. Nice one, Tez! read more
