Neatishead C of E Primary School is the school that I attended all those years ago (although back…read morethen it was called V.C Primary School). When I went there, there was a headteacher that was quite incompetent, and in the end resigned before she got fired. After that, we were put on special measures and got a super headteacher in to fix it up. He did a great job (although he was only temporary) and the quality rocketed. After that we got a much better headteacher and everything went smoothly. Now the school has yet another headteacher, who is fantastic and really cares about the children. It really is a tiny school- when I went, it had 84 pupils and I was one of 7 people in the whole year group. Now I think it has even less- about 67- which means that the pupils get lots of attention from the teachers and are more focused in class. The year groups range from Reception to year 6, then the pupils move on to high school. This school places great importance on learning about Norfolk and the history of Norfolk, and I remember going on great school trips such as a ride on Ra, the solar panelled boat on the broads and (well, they seemed exciting back then!) the fantastic ponddipping trips, not to mention all the sailing trips on the Norfolk broads.

Hillside is a well-established school with a good reputation. It has a nursery and so takes…read morechildren from 3 - 11 years old. Despite having over 500 pupils it does retain a friendly community feel. The school when it was originally built was never intended to house so many pupils and so does currently have some mobile classrooms. However, these are going to be phased out, as a new school in the area should ease the intake of pupils. The building itself is built round a quad with classrooms off it. There is one school hall, library and computer room. It is very old though and in need of a facelift. For instance it still has a toilet block outside which is finally going to be replaced with one attached to the school. Although inside the conditions are slightly cramped, outside it has two large playgrounds, and separate play areas for reception and nursery. It also has a lovely large tree-lined field. The school itself it set amongst a residential area but the trees and allotments to one-side give it quite a rural feel. Most of my involvement with the school has been with the nursery and I cannot speak too highly of this. The staff are brillliant and really prepare the children well for starting school as well as making each session really fun. Other staff in the school seem equally competent and inspiring, and from what I've observed the children seem very happy here.

Each child is treated as an individual and the teaching and support is excellent. There are 5 classes at the time of writing. Reception, Yr 1, Yr 2, Yr 3 & Yr 4. The school is also very lucky to have a lovely playing field with adventure playground bit, and a heated swimming pool which is used during the summer term in PE lessons.

This is a small school but is big enough to have several children in each age group, so they get plenty of work that is aimed at the right level. the teachers are very approachable, and the children all seem very happy there. Trowse primary school is part of a cluster of small local schools and between them they arrange several sports competitions. Results have always been good and the OFSTED reports good too. The head teacher is very keen on drama and the children have put on some really good school plays and productions over the years. My only reason for not giving this school 5 stars is that it does not have its own school field. This is not a huge problem though because it has arranged with the ski club in the village to use the field there. Other facilities for sport are available at the local YMCA.

as a child i attended trowse primary school and even though i was only there from year 4 to year 6…read morei loved it there. the teachers are really friendly and you do so much fun work. since i have left the school, refurbishments have been taking place and now it is absolutely lovely. we did so much creative homework that i loved doing and i met so many new friends.

I attended this primary school and have achieved high grades with all of my results. As a small…read moreschool, there is a friendly atmosphere in which all children can feel safe. At one point, I was bullied and this school's staff helped me deal with it. My brother also attended this school and I have to say how his headmistress was a lot better and more involved with the children; i.e.. fêtes, discos, mayday festivals. Over all this is a good, hard working school and if you work hard you will get into all of the top classes within your secondary school.
