My server was Kenya and she got me started with a beer while I looked over the menu. Went with Pork Marsala and a small wedge salad. While the wedge salad was fresh and crispy, but far from a wedge missing many of the items. I pointed this out and they did not charge me for it. The Pork Marsala is interesting, not tasting like any marsala sauce I've had before, but still good. There were five large pork medallions and enough pasta for a couple of servings. I first stumbled across this place entirely by accident while in COVID isolation on DoorDash at the…read moreAmericorps campus, and was shocked to see any Indian on DoorDash considering the nearest place on Google was in Jackson. Ordering from a gas station I was unsurprisingly raising my eyebrow wondering how good this stuff could actually be- but don't let the exterior fool you, this is some of the best Indian food you'll get in the South. The butter chicken was delightfully spicy, perfect on a sick day but not too much that I was coughing any more than I already was. I came again a few months later and got the same order and had a tailgate in the back of my truck, and while it took a while to make it was worth every bite. And that's the blessing of this place, the food takes a while but it's worth every second, everything is freshly cooked and well textured. If you don't like bone-in chicken I will say this isn't necessarily a place I'd recommend. The chicken curry and the tikka masala both were bone-in when I had them, but that doesn't necessarily bother me (it's how it should be!). Every food they offer is perfect and they will always cater it to your spice level. There isn't a listed menu and what's available changes daily, so you either have to check their Facebook page (spice and curry on FB) or DoorDash to see what's available, but the staff will be equally receptive if you order in the restaurant. It's the kind of place that I'd be at regularly if I lived in Vicksburg, because even with how good the food was, the staff are quick to make conversation and be friendly. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who's having a craving for Indian food passing through Vicksburg, it's as good as it gets! Also make sure to get the mango lassi when they have it, it's great.

I tried the place I knew but it was closed. Lucky for me, this place was right across the street. I won't bore you with the details of why Vicksburg is a special place to me. Just know that it is. I haven't been in a long time so stopping for coffee brought back some great memories. Anyway, back to the review. This is an incredibly cool place. The clothing is outdoor focused and very stylish. The coffee is very good and rivals most full time coffee houses. Plus it has parish in the name so this Louisiana boy is a fan.
