Well, I private messaged and emailed one such photographer and she never even bothered to respond! Discouraged, I turned to my old friend Yelp, and Ashley Blake caught my eye. Great reviews, nice looking photos- and wouldn't you know, she responded within the hour. From that point on everything was wonderful. Ashley does a great job communicating with you. I paid a partial deposit and we worked out a meeting spot and photo location. Ashley comes prepared with all of her equipment, and an artistic eye for nice backdrops. Asking an 18 year old boy to pose for an hour is a tall order, but she's so friendly and chill my son complied! We had a rare cold snap the day before our appointment and Ashley gave me the choice to reschedule if I preferred. But I did it -loved it , and had a lot of fun feeling feminine and sensual even in my 50's. It was I gift for my husband but also myself. As someone who is typically more comfortable taking the photos than being in them, it was nice to see myself in a flattering light with no judgement but my own. It is something I can hang on to and even if I never show anyone - it is a powerful thing to have for yourself. Knowing you can be strong, professional, resilient , etc but also have this feminine part of yourself documented as part of you also, is really cool-whether you share it or not. That being said -my husband loved it ;)
