I am one of the few people who seemingly have a painful reversal. This procedure, at least for me, was one of the most excruciatingly painful experiences of my life. Every part of it was painful. With that to be said, Dr. Wilson talked to me about many things, and I believe was a great witness of Jesus Christ, which I greatly appreciated. After the procedure, I had incredible pain for nearly a month. Wilson encourages patients to wait 2 weeks post surgery to have sexual relations, and I waited the 2 weeks. However, all sexual activity for about four months resulted in internal bleeding (resulting in extreme bruising in my scrotum), along with painful swelling of the vas deferens (I had a lump that would appear after ejaculation which nearly was the size of my testicle). I had thoughts that my reversal would not be successful. I waited for a year before getting my semen checked for sperm due to many reasons but mostly wanting the surgery to fully heal. Praise the Lord, I have swimmers! What a happy time it was to see sperm swimming under the microscope! It's been over a year now and the surgery seems to be successful, however my wife has not conceived for one reason or another, YET. I do have pain to this day. Exercise is painful, my right testicle (the side with the most swelling and bruising) hangs about half as low as the other side and it is painful. Even sexual intercourse is painful, thankfully ejaculation doesn't hurt anymore, but certain intercourse positions are painful. I rated 3 stars about my experience for the reason that it was very, very, very painful operation and recovery. But I am very happy that I have sperm swimming around today!

Let me preface this by saying that I don't typically write bad reviews. In fact, I had every hope…read moreof having a wonderful experience to post here. But unfortunately, not so. 18 months after my husband's vasectomy in late 2020, we very deeply regretted the decision and sought out a clinic for a reversal - it seemed too good to be true that one of Dr. Wilson's locations is close to us in RI, and that the rates are low. Well, it was, and I guess you get what you pay for. My husband needed additional local anesthesia for his 5/2022 procedure, but instead of being understanding, Dr. Wilson just acted annoyed and went on to cite how so few people need extra anesthesia and almost kicked us out. In retrospect, that should've been a sign to just leave. Fast forward to six months post-op, when a semen analysis revealed high white blood cells and low sperm count. We called Dr. Wilson, concerned, and he acted bothered that we did and told us to try to conceive for a year and then see a fertility specialist. Well, good thing we didn't wait - two subsequent analyses with another doctor showed that my husband's sperm count was steadily declining month to month, likely due to scarring. Not to mention the on and off pain my husband now has. We informed Dr. Wilson of this, and he still *actually* called my husband's reversal a success! We're now having a redo reversal done at another clinic. I don't expect the procedure to work 100% of the time, but I do expect doctors to acknowledge exceptions, be compassionate, make referrals when needed, and provide consultation after the procedure. We just want to share our experience to help out others. Keep in mind that more expensive clinics charge more because they perform both the VV and VE procedures. We're now out the money, time, tears, stress, and heartache.

Everyone was so rude from start to finish. It was extremely hard to get in touch with the new patient coordinator to get an appointment. Met with dr Huang who, on our first meeting stated "you should consider egg donation as having a child may not be in the works for you"- (I'm 33, healthy, unknown cause infertility) given the time sensitive process of IVF, we proceeded w this clinic. Shannon the nurse sent incorrect preauth form to insurance, pharmacy had a hard time getting in contact with the nursing team which caused almost a 2 wks delay to obtain meds. We were not able to speak with dr Huang the entire journey, nurses were rude and also hard to get a hold of. When I came in for my saline sonogram, dr Huang was the performing provider and was so cold, she didn't say a word to me tho we only had our appointment a couple weeks prior. At the end of our journey, results were not what we had hoped for and at my follow up appointment, dr. Huang proceeded to speak about another patient, why she was upset with her care and projected her situation onto me and continued to recommend egg donation. She also suggested I go to other clinics such as Brigham and can bring back their recommendations to her and we can proceed with their plans which really took me by surprise given her years of experience. At the very end when I requested my medical records, it took OVER a month to get a copy of my records from Alicia who had such a nasty attitude and kept saying her workload was too big which is a crazy excuse. It took my husband to get involved for her to actually remain my medical records. Swapped over to another clinic and now having the opposite experience.

You will wait at every appointment far past your appointment time and that is just how it is for any fertility office, they are squeezing in ppl who need to be seen asap and yes you will wait but they will squeeze you in when you need it to. Fertility monitoring and treatment has a lot of sudden appointments and remember you're waiting because someone needed help asap and you will get the same treatment when you need it. We had maxed out our insurance coverage at the time and were going to be paying out of pocket. Dr. Weiss was our primary physician and he has been wonderful. We primarily saw him in Westborough but did have a couple of appointments in Dedham and one in Boston as well. Having multiple offices made scheduling timely appointments easy, though some required a little extra travel. After the initial consult & testing, he recommended laproscopic fibroid removal surgery. The surgery went well and on its own, was life-changing for me as it ended years of debilitating monthly menstrual cramping. We were set to proceed with a round of IVF a few months later but life had other plans. We had to cancel that round of IVF and request a refund; everyone that we dealt with during that process was very understanding & supportive. We decided to proceed with IVF this year. Kelly, his nurse, was so caring & excited to help us along on our journey. Whenever I called the office with questions, I always received a call-back quickly. The nurses were friendly & polite; in the past at the other clinic, I felt like an inconvenience to them when I called with questions. I never felt that way with FCNE. The patient portal also makes getting your updates/ orders easy & understandable. The link to the medication injection videos were very helpful. We travelled to Reading for our egg retrieval and transfer both of which were performed by Dr. Plant. She was lovely; very enthusiastic & positive about helping us reach our goal. The anesthesiologist was informative & professional as well. The operating suite was clean & comfortable. Our first round of IVF after surgery was successful & I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. We have been released to the care of our OB but I will miss the care and support from Dr. Weiss, Kelly and the rest of the FCNE staff. I would highly recommend their services!

After 3 1/2 years of IUIs and in vitro, 3 miscarriages and zero answers, I finally decided to split…read morewith my old clinic and try Boston IVF after some research. Even though I never took advantage due to distance, I appreciated that they have the Dolman Center (offering things like acupuncture, yoga, nutritional consults, etc) and obviously get the link between mind and body. They also offer a number of clinical trials at any given time, so if you're interested, they usually post them on their site. Within the first 20 minutes of my consult with Dr. Thornton (in the Worcester office), she asked, "Do you have any other health problems besides mild PCOS?" I responded, "I don't have that." Turns out I do and my old clinic just never thought it was relevant enough to mention. I can't tell you how relieved I was to have a Dr. give me such a definitive answer and seem confident that they could address it. After discussing some tweaking she planned to do with my meds for my next cycle, she concluded the appt. by saying, "You will get pregnant and carry to term. I can't promise you how many tries it will take, but it WILL happen." I left feeling like I was on the right track. My cycle went smoothly and I was monitored far less than at my previous clinic. At first it made me a little nervous because I have always had the tendency to hyperstim, but they truly knew what they were doing. I'm now pregnant, safely past the "danger zone," with twins. As a side note, monitoring is not available in satellite offices on weekends, so get ready to fight the crowds in Waltham. My suggestion? Get there EARLY. The staff was great. The receptionist in Worcester, Jean, was a total sweetheart and really on the ball. She'd take care of scheduling, insurance stuff, or in my case, FMLA paperwork incredibly quickly and always seemed eager to go the extra mile. In the Waltham office, the ultrasound techs were always nice and never made you feel rushed even though there were probably a ton of women waiting. The err... "special" room that male partners use prior to egg retrieval was modern and again, the staff never made my husband feel rushed. We had an awful experience at our previous clinic where they basically told him they were on a tight schedule and he'd have to hurry it up. Poor guy. So in any case, my husband was also a fan of BIVF. The kicker was when I accidentally left my inhaler there the day of egg retrieval and someone actually called and said since she lived in my area (about 45 minutes away), she could drop it off to me on her way home. Who does that?! 3 1/2 years with another clinic with no results. 1 cycle with BIVF and my family is complete. Just saying.

The only reason for going forward is that I do really like the doctor, however it's becoming abundantly clear that the one and only time I met with her will probably be the last time I have an appt with her, as I'm already scheduled to meet with the PA once it's all said and done. As a medical professional myself, I am truly appalled at how poorly they speak to patients, the nurse who called with instructions was clearly reading off a script like a patronizing robot, no care or compassion whatsoever. Because you can't get ahold of anyone, tips and tricks for dealing with some of the pain for injections I've had to go on Reddit to find out. Billing department are complete idiots also, have no idea what they're talking about and I will absolutely be looking at any bill with a fine tooth comb. If I decide to ever do this again, I will be transferring my care immediately somewhere else and advise others to steer clear!

When you start reading reviews for IVF clinics--especially larger ones like Boston IVF--you'll see…read moreeverything from glowing five stars to stories of heartbreak. After going through it myself, I've learned that it's not really about the clinic itself. It's 100% about the team you work with. And if you're lucky enough to work with Dr. Emily Seidler and her incredible team then you've found the gold standard. We had a really difficult start at Boston IVF and came close to switching clinics entirely. The care we first received was impersonal and left us feeling completely lost. At first, we thought we could tolerate that if it got results--but over time, we realized our specific needs, questions, and goals weren't even being considered. The doctor was focused on what they assumed we wanted, rather than actually listening and working with us to maximize our outcomes. And then we met Dr. Seidler--and everything changed. Dr. Seidler is one of those incredibly rare people who is both deeply brilliant and genuinely kind. She doesn't just follow a set protocol--she pays attention. And I mean, really pays attention. When I did my first egg retrieval under a different doctor, we ended up with 7 eggs--and a massive insurance headache. We felt completely failed by the system. Then we met Dr. Seidler. She took the time to understand us--our goals, our history, our insurance limitations--and helped us make smart, thoughtful decisions that were truly in our best interest. Under her care, my next retrieval produced 22 eggs. That wasn't luck--that was her tracking how my body was responding and adjusting the protocol with care and precision. She stayed engaged, curious, and genuinely invested. She noticed things. She remembered things. She made us feel like we actually mattered--not just as patients, but as people. That kind of brilliance and humanity in one person? It's honestly a unicorn-level combo. And then there's Robin and Nikki, the two amazing nurses who make up the rest of this dream team. These women are absolute rocks. IVF is emotional, confusing, and full of logistical twists and turns, and they helped us navigate all of it with so much grace, clarity, and PATIENCE. They fielded every voicemail, email, and question (and yes, I had many!), and always responded with such kindness and patience, like I wasn't being overwhelming--even when I 100% was. Their kindness didn't come from a script--it came from presence. From actual care. And you can feel the difference. Thanks to this team, I felt supported, seen, and in incredibly capable hands at every stage. Their combination of expertise, compassion, and steadiness helped me stay grounded through a process that is anything but predictable. They didn't just guide me through treatment--they held me through it, with so much heart. And now, after three egg retrievals and three embryo transfers, I'm sitting here, 20 weeks pregnant, feeling this little baby kicking (!!) as I type--and the gratitude I feel is hard to put into words. I know I will carry this team's impact with me for the rest of my life. Dr. Seidler, Robin, and Nikki didn't just help us get here--they gave us the gift of feeling truly cared for in the most vulnerable moments. I will never forget what they've done for our family. If you're wondering whether Boston IVF is right for you--my honest advice is this: don't just look at the clinic, look at who you'll be working with. The right team makes all the difference. And with Dr. Seidler and her team, you'll be in the best possible hands. Their care changed everything for us.

That is the only reason I am okay with giving 1 star instead of 0. But the financial team and medical records team have disappointed me at every single step. My second cycle was almost canceled because the financial team never received my pre-determination letter from my insurance. However, I knew this was a problem from my first cycle and had sent it to them over the portal two weeks prior. They just completely ignored my message showing them the letter. I had to ask the nursing team to contact the financial team to financially approve me 3 days before I was due to start my medications. The claims after egg retrievals have also been a huge issue. My insurance requested medical records for the claim from my egg retrieval in October of last year. But to this day (6 months later), BostonIVF has not sent the records. I have received countless letters and reminders from insurance about this, and I have messaged/called BostonIVF multiple times in the past 6 months about this. I was promised multiple times over the portal that this has been taken care of, but that is a lie. It's been 6 months and my insurance still does not have the medical records they need to review the claim. I am scared of ending up with $25-30k in medical bills because BostonIVF is not properly doing their job. Additionally, when I looked to switch providers because of this, the medical records team did not reply to a single email asking for confirmation that the request had been received. Once 30 days had passed, I asked for a timeline on when the records would be released (this is required according to HIPPA). I heard nothing for a little over 60 days total - it is also required according to HIPPA that medical records be released in 60 days. I finally threatened to report them to the health department for being in violation of HIPPA before they gave me my records. IVF is enough of an emotional toll. Dealing with insurance is enough of an emotional toll. But an unresponsive, rude, unhelpful financial team and medical records team who regularly fail to do their job is completely unacceptable. I understand if there are a few mistakes or one or two missed messages, we are only human. But in every single step with them, there has been a mistake, delay, or lack of communication. I absolutely do not recommend BostonIVF in Providence.
