Dined here twice while in Milan due to the high quality food/drinks at fair prices. The location is also amazing - I recommend sitting outside on the patio for stunning views of the Duomo, cool shade in the heat, and short/no waiting time because of the large number of tables on the patio. The only downside is that you must plan to have a leisurely lunch/coffee break, rather than needing to adhere to a quick schedule - the service tends to be quite slow, but is worth dealing with for the views, in my opinion. read more

This is my favorite mozzarella bar in Milan. In the beautiful Brera neighborhood, we've been here many times, and the selection of a wide variety mozzarellas is great. I always get the 'Schiaffi alla Sorrentina' dish, with a Parma ham appetizer. Today accompanied by two glasses of Prosecco. 61 Euros for two people is not too expensive for this quality establishment. Their Florence restaurant is even better. read more

Tiny portions, $$$. Mozzarella bar chain with locations all over the world -- you won't be finding anything authentic here. But you will find mozzarella, if that's all you're looking for. I ordered the 8€ mini burger, which was literally so small I had to get out my magnifying glass to find it. When I did find it, the one bite that it was was quite delicious. Had dinner at Obica on our first night in Milan and with so many choices in the Brera area, I was glad we picked Obica! The mozzarella at this self described mozzarella bar was like nothing I've had before. So fresh and delicious! My favorite was the smoked mozzarella. My wife wanted something vegetarian and had a pizza. It was the best margarita pizza we had ever had! My daughter had ravioli which was good as well. I had the cheese and meat platter which had fresh mozzarella, Brie, prosciutto, salami, olives and bruschetta. The waiter suggested a wine, which I think was a shiraz and it was excellent and smooth! A delicious tiramisu and cappuccino was a good finish to a perfect dinner. Great dinner for a good price! read more

SCANDAL. BAG STOLEN WHILE HAVING LUNCH AT OBIKA BRERA RESTAURANT I went to Milan this weekend and had lunch on Saturday at Obika (Brera area). We were seating with my friends at the big high table at the back of the restaurant, I had hung my hand bag on a hook under the table. At the end of the lunch, my bag was missing! No one came near the table except the short blond waitress. No one except her could have possibly stolen my bag. With my friends, we made a scandal. How could it happen. I didn't leave my chair during the whole lunch. I didn't even go to the bathroom. How could anyone steal my bag... One of the waitresses told us it happened before.. They accused some professional pick pockets to sneak in the restaurant and steal from the customers.. It doesn't seem possible to me as no one came near me except the waitress. I strongly suspect the short blond waitress stole my handbag. The bag had a thin loose strap so I guess it was easy to steal without me noticing, even though the bag was hanging to the hook under the table. I lost my money, my iphone5, my credit cards and ray ban sunglasses. It's unbelievable. And do you think the restaurant would have at least offered us the lunch? No.. So don't go there and if you do watch out for the waitress while you enjoy your not-so-fresh mozzarella... read more

Located in fashionable, Brera design district, this was my stop for my "happiness hour." Customary at bars in Italy is their happy hour which includes a large spread of complimentary food. All you have to do is buy a drink (I had a spritz), and enjoy a filling meal. Everyone was friendly and I would definitely stop by again next time I'm in Milan. For 13 euros for drink, I was very full and felt like I had a complete meal. A little off the beaten track, this place was not busy at all when I visited. read more

Went there last night. Cold in the restaurant, colder service (not even once smile) and two subpar pizzas. Mine was truffle and porcini mushrooms, very greasy and my daughters was margherita with just a few meager pieces of buffalo mozzarella. This place is a chain-- which really surprised me because all of the food was fresh and cooked to perfection. It was the first restaurant I ate at during my time in Milano, and from that moment on I knew the food was going to be unreal. It is a mozzarella bar, so the cheese platters and aperitivos were almost too delicious. 'Aperitivo' refers to happy hour in Italy, which includes a large spread of complimentary food and a cocktail. The meat platters were also perfect for sharing and the pastas were not only al dente, but also perfect portion sizes. This location and the one on top of Rinascente are perfect for lunch time because of the outdoor seating and lively atmosphere. read more

Wanted an early evening meal after a full day of sightseeing; kind of tough to find as Italians are late diners by American standards. Wandered into this place on our way to catch the tram and have zero regrets. Cool vibe, quiet, uncrowded and great food. Hubs had lasagna that he loved and I had homemade mozzarella burrata and fresh salami along with some irresistible bread. The Chianti was also excellent and we treated our selves to beyond delicious crunchy almond cake with some kind of "lick the plate worthy" cream in which to dunk the cake.
