They're fairly new, but he's looking to expand with a full tasting room. His offerings are extensive and run from meads made only from honey or from a mixture of honey and spices at varying viscosity. The tastings are affordable but he only offers it for items that are open (identified with a yellow tab) They take credit cards (thank goodness) and are looking into shipping options. Had a fantastic time here and learned a lot about mead!

Once I found out about this it was on my must see list in Prague! I saved this for my last day…read morebecause I knew I would want to buy everything! I got there around 730 and they close at 8pm.. But George was super cool about it and stayed open late until 9pm to give me all the details and stories behind the 10 different traditional Meads made in the Czech Republic including the 2015 winner of the International Meads award. The 10 Mead tasting was only 180kc which was less than $8. Mead truly is the nectar of the gods. Each of them were so delicious and unique! My favorites are the one with Red Currant juice and Forest honey! The forest honey Meads is so complex and rich in flavor. I ended up buying 4 bottles to bring back home to the US. Protip: You can bring back as much alcohol as you want to the USA in your checked bag as long as it's under 24%ABV which covers Mead and wine. Customs only lets you get away with 1 bottle duty-free, however the rest is charged only 3% duty which is practically nothing.

It is in…read morewalking distance from Namesti rebliky or Dlouha tridy and offers wide selection of (mostly czech, but also imported) wine with reasonable prices(strats somwhere around 120 CZK, I ussualy chose something between 150-170 CZK and never had wine which I did not like) . Staff is very nice, know what they sell and can help you choose right wine for you (even give you some samples). You can also order online at vino-klub.cz, where you can find over 4000 wines and pick it up here. Price is same online as in wineshop, so if you are not looking for something specific you can just walk in, choose buy, drink in house or take away. They close at 9 PM, but they are open longer from time to time. If you are walking around after 9 PM and craving wine you can try to drop by.

Here, almost downtown you can enjoy wine produced just few steps from where you are sitting. They are open Fridays and Saturdays afternoon, winemakers themselves (who rent vineyard from the city) will serve you. They speak some English so they can give you even a good explanation how they make wine. Water is free, they have some crackers but the main item to sell is of course wine. Wine - of course it cannot compete with great French and Italian wine, but if you compare it with Moravian, you can easily go and start drink wine from Prague. They sell dornfelder (heavy red wine), muller thurgau (white, typical for Central Europe), hibernal (white) and Pinot noir. Last but not least - from the vineyard you have a wonderful view all over southern Prague. The only problem for tourists (but for many locals as well :) is to find the place.
