I came in for a second opinion for getting 1 or 2 crowns based on the good reviews. I ended up with a list of 10 crowns at estimated "discounted price" of $12000. The men sitting at the front desk was also the salesman. Make sure you look like you have got money to spend so you don't get his poor attitude when you choose to walk away from the offered discounted price for 10+ crowns. I just needed 1-2 crowns and I got them done somewhere else less than $500 for both, same materials and no "you shall decide to pay now" pressure and no poor attitude. read more

The office experience was unprofessional. I had not written a review so the office manager asked for my phone to then have me give a review. I was very uncomfortable with that and was not as honest as I should have been. Equipment was poor with the overhead light cover falling into my lap. The screen in front of was broken. My biggest complaint is the high pressure for present and future costly work that I do not believe to be necessary. one assistant although very nice did not seemed well trained. She wanted to reschedule me for a special cleaning not covered by the insurance. I said I want my cleaning now. So I got some half ass cleaning by one of her staff. Where do I begin my first consultation she tried to upsell me on all the most expensive things they could do. Then we came to conclusion I had to get all of my fillings re done. That was fine with me but I've had other fillings in my life and had never been stabbed so many times to be numbed. In my final appointment they were going to put a partial on one of my teeth and somehow got a chemical on my lip which caused my lip to swell three times its normal size and then just sent me home with Benadryl and no explanation. It's been another year, and time for another update. I've had a really positive experience with this dental practice the last year. There has been some change in staff, and the team is really cohesive. Jessica, the office coordinator is really responsive via email and phone, very accommodating and professional. I still stand by Dr, Bohr's professionalism and experience as a dentist. She's really good at what she does and works really hard to keep her patients happy. I've received some coupons in the mail recently, so if you are a new patient and lives in the area, look out for those. They also host holiday parties and other events at their office, (I've never actually attended one) and I think it's a very nice idea. I think the fifth star is well deserved. read more

Wow first visit to this dentist thinking would be a good one with reviews on line. I should of looked on here first. The dental hygienist was good explained what she was doing. She did ask about a tooth that had composite that was a little off color but told her I'm fine with it. I also was told my x-rays they got from my prior dentist was hard to read so they needed better ones. I said I won't be charged right and so they said no. The worst part was when the dentist came in saw me for 5 seconds and suggested veneers for some craze lines on my teeth. Saying it could get worse blah blah stuff and I said no. No dentist has ever suggested this and that if my teeth bother me down the line I'll deal with then. So she also suggested $500 mouthguards because that's how I probably got craze lines. I said cant i just get at Walmart she said those are not good. I've never has a dentist be so money hungry in 5 seconds. read more

Every time my family went to this Dr. we were pitched different dental work. We always had good dentists that kept up with our dental care but never were pushed or told we need so much. However my daughter needed braces and Dr. Bohr said she could do it no problem and even have them straighten in 6 months. With 6 month smile braces. My daughter and I were excited at the thought of having straight teeth in a short time and we trusted that would be a good option since I asked Dr. Bohr questions and said it was the latest and greatest. Then the trauma began, first of all my daughter was in pain the whole time and it took over 6 months. Shortly after she had them removed we bought a new home in a new area and I took her to another dentist closer to us because she was in pain. The dentist took one look and said she still had glue on some of her teeth from the braces and no enamel on several because her teeth were shaven down exposing her teeth and creating sensitivity and said she needed to be referred me to an orthodontist. I ordered her X-rays prior to the braces at my new dentist recommendation so the new dentist and orthodontist could review what happened where my daughter started and ended with Dr. Bohr. The orthodontist told us that Dr. Bohr basically removed to much of her teeth why she has sensitivity and teeth are not straight rather shaven which an experienced orthodontist would not ever do and now she needs reconstruction of her front teeth because it was done incorrectly. Basically she ruined my daughters teeth. It's been a year and my daughter has pain even eating a piece of toast. I will be reporting her soon and seeking legal representation. read more

Received an incorrect diagnosis. I was told my tooth was cracked and it was necessary for me to get a cubic zirconium crown otherwise my tooth would need to be pulled within the next year. Something about the dentist made me uncomfortable and made me feel like she was up-selling me, so I decided to get a second opinion. I ended up getting an opinion over the phone from my previous dentist of 20+ years as well as going to La Jolla Village Smiles (highly recommended!). Both dentists laughed at the diagnosis and said I certainly don't need a crown, I just need a night guard and some Sensodyne toothpaste. There's no crack in my tooth, I simply grind my teeth which is making them sensitive. Would not recommend Oasis Smiles, go to La Jolla Village instead! read more

I came in for a checkup as a new patient because the dentist was in my network. It was pointed out to me that I have a couple of "cracks" in my teeth and told by Dr. Bhor that I would need veneers to prevent my teeth from splitting (she said it was absolutely necessary and without the veneers, my teeth would crack and need to be removed). I was shuffled into room and they tried to pressure me into paying for $5,000 veneers. Now thankfully I'm not an idiot, so got second opinions from two more dentists and did my own research. Was told by both those dentists that 1) the "cracks" in my teeth are actually craze lines, which are a harmless, aesthetic issue that does not require treatment unless associated with pain or sensitivity, and 2) veneers are purely aesthetic and serve absolutely no purpose to prevent craze lines from developing into anything worse. When I told these other dentists about Dr. Bhor's recommendation, they literally laughed. Dr. Bhor at Oasis tried to pressure me into quickly purchasing an expensive, useless treatment to treat a problem that didn't exist. I think it is also telling that I perceived a red flag even when I made my first appointment at Oasis. They seemed foremost thrilled to be able to charge my insurance for a more-extensive-than-usual set of X-rays. Did I need them done? Didn't seem like it, they hardly looked at them. Their interest purely seemed to be from the fact that they could make money off the procedure. This same greed and fishiness was also at work when they tried to sell me $5,000 worth of veneers that I absolutely did not need. The cleaning that I wanted in the first place was an afterthought to them, and I felt like they rushed through it and they did it in such a way that left my teeth sensitive for months afterward. They made it seem like a personal favor that they could clean my teeth in the same visit as all of their unnecessary scans. No dentist has ever treated me like this as a first time patient. Further, I think everyone in the office behaved incredibly unprofessionally. From the hygienist to the dentist to the receptionist who tried to pressure me into financing thousands of dollars of work before giving me time to consider it, the place was just awash with an air of desperation. If anyone from Oasis is reading this, here is my advice: stop treating your patients like cash cows. People can see you for what you are. Your dishonest diagnoses and unnecessary treatment recommendations are blatantly transparent. Your business model will not survive as people learn to do their own research and get second opinions from honest dentists, while you scare away consistent patients. read more

First of all, nowhere to park!!! Super busy parking lot with nowhere at all to park. Drove around three times and finally caught someone leaving. I have a new HMO insurance and chose to come here for my routine cleaning. I was told they would send me new patient forms, never received them. I called the receptionist to send the forms again, never received them. After my cleaning/exam I was told I have several cavities and need a crown and they needed to be fixed immediately (which is outrageous). My previous dentist, which I saw six months ago never mentioned any of these concerns. The receptionist went to run my insurance and told me the cost would be over 1000.00 out of pocket. She asked if I wanted to apply for the credit payment plans. She immediately started to push me into doing the procedures today and gave me several reasons why I wouldn't want to wait. I have called three times since I have left this office today to request a release form to be emailed to me in order to get my x-rays. The receptionist has given me three ridiculous excuses and nearly hung up on me the last call. Be prepared to have a headache, to be upsold, and to be pressured if you go to this dental office. I've never felt better with a dental experience than when I started coming here. Amazing place that always gets me in when it's most convenient for me and has a staff that feels like family. Dr. Bhor has as amazing staff from the frontlines (front desk and phones) to the assistants and techs. Due to covid, we've been in a few financial struggles but Oasis has gone above and beyond to help me with finding the right financial assistance that has me feeling zero stress. I had never met this dentist prior to my one visit with her, but have always been told I have been blessed with great teeth (thankfully). I had been going to the same dentist for years (who is great and close by), but due to a change in the insurance, I was trying to find a dentist on my current insurance plan. I chose Dr bohr because of some positive Google reviews. These yelp reviews are more accurate & in line with my experience at my visit. Keep in mind that I'd just been to my usual dentist 6-7 months ago with no issues or treatment recommendations. I met Dr bohr and within 10 min she was trying to sell me a "deep cleaning". Luckily I'm in the medical field, and well aware that while this is a legit procedure, it's rarely indicated. Regardless of what I said, she was attempting to convince me to do this cleaning. THEN she tried to tell me to get my wisdom teeth out. I realize lots of people don't keep them, but because mine came in straight & never caused me any problems, I've never, in my 25 years of having them, been told to get them out. I firmly said that I was not going follow either recommendation and left. Lots of pressure on the upsell. I get it. We all have to make a living, but wow. Dentist as saleswoman is not so impressive. Pathetic, I might add. If you you're going to listen to her recommendations, get a second opinion and do some research on the procedures she's recommending. I forgot to mention - despite providing my insurance information ahead of time, and calling the office the morning of the appointment to make sure that I was set, I sat for 40 min in the waiting room for insurance verification reasons. *never again* read more

As a senior citizen, I've had dentists look in horror at my mouth. They don't show it outwardly, but I can see it in their eyes. Dr. Bhor looked at my mouth, and showed me her state of the art equipment. Plus, she approves of my being sedated. Thank you Dr. Bhor for rebuilding my mouth. Great job!!! read more

I have been searching for a good dentist around RB area for a little while and then I came across this place. I went in about a month ago to get an exam, and to get a price quote. They took down my insurance information but did not even bother to look up the correct copays. They quoted me for a MUCH higher price. I then had get on my phone, go to my insurance login page and show them the correct co-pay amounts. They tried to get me to pay right then and there but I told them i would have to go home and may possibly come back later. They never even bothered to follow up. I wasn't too impressed & will not be going back. Guess I still need to search for a good dentist in the area that accepts HMO plans. PS: there is barely any parking spaces available! read more

Let me firstoff by saying that i am ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED of th dentist I have the WORST teeth on th planet and the staff at Oasis could not be anyore friendly and put a girl at ease! I had to bring my four year old daughter with me whom can be a bit of work at times and they went above their call of duty and entertained her, showed her equipment, gave her snacks and water and did just about everything in their power to keep her happy. I did not ask, nor do I ever expect this of any business offering this type of service. We had some trouble getting me numb, as every dentist ive EVER seen has, and they patted my back and my arm and told me not to worry--that they would do absolutely EVERYTHING to make sure I was comfortable. And you know what? They did just that! They sedated me last minute, TWICE! Which ended up extending my stay longer than my alloted time period and stayed well after business hours to ensure that everything was good to go. I have nearly ten thousand dollars worth of dental work needing to be done and they stayed until every last filling was done on the top part of my mouth---even going as far as polishing and buffing off some stains. What sort of dentist stays after hours wen her own child is there waiting to go home after being picked up from school? AN OVERLY DEDICATED ONE! This dentist is amazing...and i DESPISE going to the dentist! She doesnt just do her job, she does it with love and compassion and is a remarkable woman. I adore her and would refer ANYONE to her! did I mention that I called the evening BEFORE the dental procedure to see if they could get me in? They were on top of thier game and I will never see another dentist again. She is beyond amazing and I am so utterly thankful to have found her! Be prepared for "up-sell"! A simple 6 month Cleaning appointment turned into an estimate for needed dental work in the thousands of dollars. We have been seeing our former dentist every 6 months for many years. We needed a Medicare Dental Plan and selected a Delta Dental HMO Dentist with minimal monthly fee. Once Oasis schedules you for a low / reasonable priced dental cleaning appointment, and you are in the chair they find all sorts of additional treatments are necessary. They try to be very convincing about what they state are necessary Dental procedures. Although the people working in the office were nice, their goal is to sell, sell, sell, every cosmetic procedure and as many dental procedures as they can creatively push during the initial appointment. Never Again. I went here because they were in network with my dental insurance. I should have paid attention to the reviews. I went in and the first thing that should have tipped me off are all of the crazy things they have you sign. No other dentist does that. After that, they took me in for a cleaning. They started with x-rays which was normal but something was wrong. It took them an HOUR to do the x-rays which I was confused by. It turns out they did the more extensive x-rays that you're only allowed to get done like 1x every 10 years. They didn't ask me about this or anything, just did it. And if I'd had one 9 years ago? I'd have had to pay 100% of the cost, which is extremely high for these. Along with that, the hygienist kept saying they'd have to book another appointment to have me come in and get the actual cleaning done. When the dentist came in and she was saying this, she said no, they'd take care of the cleaning today. The hygienist ROLLED HER EYES. The dentist herself ended up doing my cleaning which was really strange. 2 hours for a cleaning. This was several months ago and I'm still horrified by the experience. Very friendly people, posh office, confident dentist. Quoted me for procedures totaling $3444 and tried right there to get me a loan with their lender. The bill did not factor in any insurance, and when a dentist's office asks me my credit score and says they can get me a low monthly payment of $289 for the next 12 months, I feel like I'm at a car dealership. I called my insurance afterward, telling them I would think about it, and the insurance agent told me the copays for several of the procedures. The rest of the codes were foreign to her. They wanted to charge me $295 for a root canal when my insurance copay would be $165. $195 for a porcelain crown whose copay would be $89. Resin filling w/o insurance: $183; with insurance: $25. And so on. The insurance agent told me she would get a second opinion, if she were me. I called to see if there was a misunderstanding. They told me the CAD CAM crown they do was an honest, discounted price of $350 and that I wouldn't find a better deal. $350 for a crown that a computer designs doesn't sound too bad to me, but I figure it's a custom thing that isn't on the books for insurance. I'm sure they do good work, but trying to get me a loan and trying to do a root canal on the spot, etc...asking if a parent or aunt or anyone could cosign a loan for me right there? For an amount not taking insurance into account? The last time I had someone cosign a loan, I was going to college. I figure it's in a swanky neighborhood where their clients don't mind being overcharged, but when I go to the dentist I don't feel like dealing with a sales team. read more

I had a terrible experience at this place. I arrived 15 minute early for my appointment knowing that I would have to fill in forms as a new patient. There was noone at the front and no bell to ring. I could hear people talking at the back so I waited. 15 minutes passed and they still didn't walk to the front desk, and that was my scheduled appointment time, so I said "Hello". To their credit, they apologized. I would have been more OK with it if they were at the back with patients. But they were just chatting amongst themselves. The dental hygienist - I don't think she understands hygiene. She wore the same pair of gloves while looking for my files, through my files, and typing on the keyboard. (The keyboard is dirtier than an average toilet seat!). I really should have asked her to change her gloves before she stuck those fingers in my mouth. She was trying to take pictures and it seemed like she did not know what to do and she kept getting error messages after trying to take each photo. It would have been one thing if she was new and still learning. But she had been there since they opened, and she even said something along the line of "this keeps happening to me". Well, if that's the case, please learn how to use the program. Dr. Bohr asked her to take 2 x-rays, and she took 3, but told her that she took 2. The bill confirmed that 3 were taken. They said I needed some fillings done to my teeth and told me how much it would cost. When I requested for a copy of the x-rays, they never responded and there was no follow up. And they definitely didn't make it easy for me to switch dentist either. I called 5 times asking them to send my file to a new dentist. Each time, they said they would call back but never did. My new dentist still hasn't received the file 2 months later. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

The front desk was able to to fit my husband and I to get a dental cleaning and filling done within a week which was really helpful due to an insurance issue. The entire office seems very conscientious about dental health by the way they perform numerous xrays and a thorough gum exam before the cleanings. Don't engage with them unless you have tons of time on hand and nothing else to do. The first estimate you get will be overblown and designed to make a big hole in your pocket. I would still go with it if the dental work is of high quality... My root canal was not done right and I was referred to a Endodontist to take care of it. After that these guys made me a crown which kept falling off. After a year of serial visits, the dentist concluded that the crown was not a good fit anymore because the gums have grown around that area etc. They made me another crown (which apparently was supposed to be Zirconia) and it has magically managed to stick for a year now. Recently, I went to another Dentist and the X-ray went right through that crown. On discussing and researching more I realized that these guys have put a crown made of hard plastic material and not Zirconia. I'm livid with all the treatment and especially the quality of treatment I have received here even after spending a bunch of money. The doctor and the staff are nice people but this is by no means a place to get quality treatment. And also I hate the fact that they lost their honesty somewhere midway dealing with me. read more

Fraudulant!!! They will rip you off! Went in there with my son and was quoted ridiculous amounts of money. I called the office a few days later and asked that they email me the breakdown of charges. I noticed some of the charges did not have a procedure code, when I asked for them they told me they don't have one...every procedure has a code. I called my dental plan and told them what was going on and let them know what I was being charged for and they were floored. They had added all these charges for things that weren't even needed and were considered cosmetic. Don't go to them for services!! The staff is very nice, but they cannot be trusted! You know how getting x-rays digs into your gums? Not here! It's all digital. Dr. Sasha Bohr is very knowledgeable and listens to your needs. Lina, her sidekick, takes great care of you. I was in their chair today for 3.5 hours and was impressed with how gentle they were! The only thing that hurt a little were the shots. And earlier this week I had my teeth cleaned by Paris. I went in to Dr Bhor and she made me feel very comfortable. I know that most dentists take similar care of their patients with xrays, cleaning, etc,. In this case, I felt like I was being treated by a really nice caring young lady who seemed to be interested in me as a person, as opposed to someone just with teeth. Been a patient here since 2011. Dr. Bohr has taken good care of my teeth and did great work restoring them after identifying periodontal disease. I think the treatment has been the least painful dentistry Ive received among the 5 dentists I've visited in my life. The parking lot gets a lot of traffic since its at a busy intersection, so be sure to arrive early so you can get a spot. Otherwise, i think the billing has been fair for the services provided, although i think its a bit pricey, but i always get the value i paid for (its in Rancho Bernardo after all). I never had a situation where i felt mislead or cheated. Overall, dr. Bohr is a professional catering to true professionals...she demonstrated great passion when explaining a procedure when i asked for more details, and went out of her way to accommodate me due to schedule conflicts. read more

Dr. Sasha Bhor has ripped us off for years. Beware of the up sell and work you don't need done. My last visit required a crown and a deep cleaning. It was $1300 out of pocket with two insurance coverage. I got a second option, it was $348.66 for a crown, deep cleaning and fixing two cracked fillings. My wife was recommended a crown on a tooth without a crack in the actual tooth (just the filling). The crown alone was $700 out of pocket. My wife went to another dentist and found out the crack was in the filling and not the tooth. She got her cracked filling and two others fixed for $100. Damn crooks! They will sell you and pressure you with stuff you don't need. Beware with Shasha Bhor and her associates! Their administration and insurance people have no clue or........are part of the nonsense going on there. I suggest not ever going there. Plus the wait times are unacceptable (why because they are mining gold out of another dummy like us!). read more
