Let me tell you all a story that happened over 30 years ago...back when I was playing high school football and basketball everyone we played in premont or falfurias after the game they would take us to the Oasis Restaurant in Premont Texas for are game meal and we would eat they're favorite chicken fried steak (big portion) with that yellow chicken gravy and it was munch time...you had the whole team eating a chicken fried steak and it would be the best thing we ever ate...this was when they were across the street from the current one at the bottom of the hotel building... 30 plus years later they are located across the street in a nice big building...one where you could conduct live music in there and party room... I came back just down the road to eat here since I had not eaten here in a good while...my grandson came to town for a football game...(following grandpa steps) so we had to go try good old faithful...I ended up ordering a chicken fried chicken....man let me tell you they did not disappoint...I mean it was on point I saw that they were cranking out call in orders like crazy which gave me the idea to call in a chicken fried steak plate and a chicken fried chicken with extra chicken gravy... My my... I know I'm gonna be making that 45 minute drive to order my two faves... Customer service they are really really nice...very humble as well...we'll see you soon read more

We do a pan of take out, cook later, beef enchiladas for the ranch on Friday night... super easy, and delicious! Comes with rice, beans, chips and salsa. Super easy for that arrival on the 1st night... just throw them in the oven and boom! Fiesta! read more

I was part of a very large party coming in from a funeral and the staff and restaurant were great to us! The sweet tea was good, the burgers were top notch, and the servers handled everything with poise and a welcoming smile. On a recent visit I had breakfast & lunch here. I was beyond impressed with both meals. I had a chorizo & egg breakfast plate that included tortillas, & refried beans. So yummy! And they use Chorizo de San Manuel, which, in my opinion is the best chorizo. For lunch I had the catfish plate, which included a salad, fries, your choice of one or two catfish fillets & the best damn tarter sauce I've ever had! The fish was not too fishy & the outer crust was just the right thickness and was deep fried to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The customer service is outstanding here. This restaurant has been my favorite stop to make when traveling through Premont for years now. I can never bring myself to order anything other than the chicken fried chicken, because I can honestly say it's the best I've ever had. Their yellow gravy is superb as well. The workers are nice but depending on the day they can frequently seem unavailable. That's why I mostly order over the phone and take my orders to-go, rather than dine-in. They also have inexpensive pricing for their party room, which they make easy to talk to about arranging reservations for it. read more

The waitress was kind enough to give each of my boys a quarter for the candy machines. My wife enjoyed her burger and my boys split a chicken tenders plate. They liked their food. As for me, I had nachos and they were not great. The beans tasted different and the guacamole had a weird flavor. I ate a fourth of my plate. It was quiet here and the ice cream was really cheap. So I get there and order the shrimp plate that comes with fries and I added mash potatoes instead of salad , she comes back ten minutes later and ask if I want it grilled or crispy? Then she comes back a second time ten minutes later after that and ask if I want any sides with that, I said it comes with fries and I want mash, she said it doesn't come with fries, so I grabbed a menu and showed her that it clearly does, so after all that she comes with my food, and there's no mash and there is salad on the plate, so I have her take it back, a second woman comes back 5 minutes later with my food and it's still wrong, this time no fries just mash and salad, so I have her take it back, now ten minutes later a man this time brings my food, and finally! It's right, shrimp, fries , and mash. I took a bite of the potatoes and they left some of the previous salad inside the mash... so I ate the fries instead, then I tried to eat one of the shrimps and it was still frozen inside!!! We arrived 2:30pm Sunday afternoon. We were told to seat ourselves, so we did. We ordered our drinks. The ice was bad, made the soda taste horrible. Was un able to let him know because he never came back to check on us. He spent 30 minutes sweeping and texting the floors. When he did come back thirty minutes later to bring our food. He brought my wife the wrong order. She ordered carne asada.(Grilled steak cut in slices or chopped in pieces) The waiter brings out carne guesada.(Beef stew chunks). We tell him its incorrect. Next words out of his mouth and I Quote "We don't sell carne asada here! So I asked him why he didn't let us know when my wife placed the order. From the waiter and I quote ( I didn't know we didn't sell carne asada). So I recanted the situation to him. Explaining that You (the waiter) brought the incorrect food out and now your telling us the kitchen is closed and you will not make anything else for us? The time was 3:09pm. 9 minutes after closing they were unable make another dish! Waiter and I quote: That's it!! this is all we have and the kitchen is closed! (No sign any where stating the restaurant closes at 3:00pm on Sunday's). On top of it, my wife orders a side of rice and refried beans because the two incorrect tacos were al carte. The refried beans looked and smelled like they had been sitting out all day. When I went to the register to pay, they charged us for the side two side items. $2.30 for a scoop of rice and $2.30 for a scoop of refried beans. This place was a complete rip off with unbelievably terrible service. read more

After years of driving through Premont and passing Oais we stopped. They serve the real TexMex. Their home made chili is outstanding. We bought a container to go. They are better than any other in the Rio Grande Valley. read more

Oasis has been around for a while. They are known around Premont for their Chicken Fried Steak. They are also really reasonable with their private catering. If you have something in mind they can probably make it happen. We had some awesome steak and shrimp there for a party. read more
