Curtis, the owner, and Marilyn, the designer, seriously exceeded my expectations. Curtis is very straightforward and realistic about results. They really worked with me to bring everything I wanted to life, even in spots that were difficult to embroider. They went the extra mile to make it work and everything came out better than I imagined. The attention to detail was incredible and there were some parts where I let him pick the font/color and I'm so glad I trusted him because they know what they're doing. And the turnaround time!! I needed everything last minute for a bachelorette and they got it done SO quickly without sacrificing the quality. Marilyn did such an amazing job with the design and the whole experience felt so personal. I felt like they cared just as much about the finished pieces as I did. Honestly just go here for amazing results.

The man in the shop was very helpful and gave me the suggestion on where the print would be best. He was straight to the point and I can tell he knew what he was doing. Price was reasonable but what I appreciated was that they showed a copy of how the print would look. After picking it up, the quality of the print was nice. I even tested and washed the shirt like 7 times and no fades on the print. So for sure the vinyl was of great quality. I'll definitely come back for more!

I had a wonderful experience with Trudon Melrose in West Hollywood and felt compelled to share it…read more I called the store looking for a last-minute birthday gift and spoke with Noah, who was incredibly helpful, calm, and thoughtful from start to finish. He guided me to the Joséphine candle, offered to beautifully wrap it, and promptly sent an invoice so I could pick it up before closing. I arrived before closing and not only was everything perfectly prepared, but Noah remembered my name immediately. That level of attention is rare and genuinely appreciated. Since I had a few minutes before the store closed, I browsed the shop, which is impeccably organized and a pleasure to be in. I asked about the wax cameo melts and mentioned I wasn't sure if I had seen all the available sets. Noah made a great recommendation and even offered me a sample, which was such a thoughtful touch. I also appreciated the convenience of being able to write a birthday message on a Trudon card right there in the store. My friend absolutely loved the gift and couldn't wait to try it. Exceptional service, beautiful products, and a seamless experience--Noah truly made this visit special. I will absolutely be back.

I had enough overpriced candles in my life before Trudon showed up. Diptyque, Comme des Garçons, Jo…read moreMalone, La Note Parisienne, Prada, Byredo, Annick Goutal, Penhaligon's, Etro, Malin + Goetz ― I had more than enough companies offering me high-fallutin' ways that I could literally burn my money (and those are just the ones I took up on the offer). But I fell for the gateway drug of Carrière Frères, the "junior" brand that is, in fact, the company that owns the fancier Trudon. When I found out there was a Trudon boutique in L.A., I was a goner. You can find the official Cire Trudon history on their website: They became chandlers to the church and monarchy in seventeenth century France, and their wares lit up cathedrals and châteaux. Reading between the lines, it seems the company disappeared sometime in the nineteenth century, after being bought by the Carrière Frères company, only to be resurrected as a brand of high-end luxury scented candles just recently. So Trudon's heritage is both old and, truth told, pretty new. Regarding scented candles, Carrière Frères has a longer history, and their aesthetic is firmly rooted in botanical fragrances: Each scent is modeled closely to a single flower, herb, wood, etc. Their Tomato fragrance, which smells mostly of tomato leaves, is a green and refreshing scent popular for absorbing kitchen odors. Trudon's main line of candles range from the damp (Balmoral ― the smell of a foggy Scottish moor) to the exotic (Ottoman ― a spice market in the souk) to the suggestively louche (Odalisque ―orange blossom toilet water in a bordello). Even when they weren't exactly my taste, there was no denying their quality. Their price, that was something else, though the gram-per-gram price difference with Diptyque is just pennies in the end. The store itself is rather spare; compared to the beautiful new renovation at Diptyque's Larchmont boutique, I would hope to see more than the large expanse of largely bare white walls. Design-wise, this is not the flagship store the brand deserves. Service was excellent ― the sales associate (Adam, I believe) was engaged, friendly, and very passionate about the brand. I honestly did not expect to spend $125 on a candle I did not need, but I did. (That, and $65 on a Carrière Frères candle, too.) I had seen Trudon candles in many high-end boutiques around town and really didn't think much of them, but the Trudon boutique turned me around on the brand. Given that I now have another expensive candle brand to burn my money, I'm not sure how I feel about that...

I was first introduced to aura photography by a practitioner in Santa Ana, but after she moved out of state, I started looking for another place and found Sacred Flight. The shop is located in Los Feliz and has a cozy, spiritual vibe. They carry a beautiful selection of crystals, singing bowls, and other wellness items that are fun to browse before or after your session. The staff was welcoming and took the time to explain the process, making the experience feel both relaxing and meaningful. The aura photo session was about $65, and it included a printed photo along with a brief reading explaining what each of the colors represented. The only downside was parking. It was by far the most challenging part of my visit. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and thought the experience was a good value for something so unique. I also heard they've opened a second location in Pasadena, and I'm looking forward to checking that one out for my next birthday tradition.
