Wow just wow! This place is hands down the best place for gluten free food in the area. I had the calamari and it was amazing. I wish I took a photo of the coconut shrimp that my mom ordered because it was hands down the best coconut shrimp I have ever had. The server made sure to tell me everything that can be made gluten free which was about 90% of the menu. They were so knowledgeable and caring! The restaurant was very clean and has room for large groups. If you have a food allergy or just want some high quality food definitely stop in.

Popped into Oar & Iron Sunday here at Babcock Ranch for a bite to eat. We sat at bar to take it all (and to see what everyone was eating). Well, we kept seeing this skillet dish being served to people at the bar. It looked delicious! So I finally asked when the last one was served, and it happened to be the Head Chef Tanya Rapoza we spoke to. She said it was the cornbread skillet. She said it was quite popular here. Half joking I said 'you don't happen to give out samples do you?' Well, sure enough not soon after did Head Chef Tanya circle back to where my boyfriend and I were sitting at the bar with just that... of the most delicious mouthwatering skillet cornbread I've ever had! A must have, not to be missed menu item! And if you happen to see Head Chef Tanya, sure you say hello!

I rarely write a review, but I couldn't help myself on this one.. I gave this restaurant 2 tries and I will never go back! My first attempt I went during lunch, I ordered the grilled octopus and a cheesesteak sandwich. The octopus came out cold, sent it back and it was like they warmed it up in a microwave, but was still only lukewarm and just became basically tasteless chewy rubber. The cheesesteak was actually not bad. The waitress I had was pretty decent and definitely not her fault that the food was not great. There was four guys standing around the kitchen, just walking around aimlessly and it looked like the restaurant chef was too busy running around in his golf cart out in the parking lot. My second attempt I went for dinner. It was about two hours before closing and the restaurant was not even a 1/4 of the way full. There is nobody at the host stand so I believe it was the manager that came out and sent me. I sat there for 10 minutes before a waitress came to my table and asked me for my drink order. It took another 10 minutes for her to come back with an iced tea, granted there's nobody in the restaurant. This time I ordered the fillet cooked medium, and a loaded, baked potato. Almost 25 minutes later, in an empty restaurant my food finally came. I had to ask a manager that was walking by to refill my drink because my waitress seemed to be too busy preparing to close rather than take care of her only customer. Again the food came out cold, steak was way overcooked and definitely was not a fillet, was hard and had the appearance of glued steak when I pulled it apart. The baked potato was cold, hard and damn near not edible. $77 for absolute trash, food and trash service. I understand growing pains for a new restaurant, but they have multiple other locations. The manager should be walking around asking customers how they're experiences instead of hiding in the back. This time there was three guys in the kitchen also just standing around. I would hate when that restaurant is slammed because everybody's food would be garbage and take forever.

This is a new spot so we decided to try it for Sunday lunch, and they were great! The burgers were on point with a variety of options for proteins and cheeses, plus we got the cornbread appetizer. We were impressed with the food and the service, and we'll be back to try them for dinner too.

Delicious topping & sauce. Highly recommend. They come 2 per order and they split them on plates for us since we just wanted a snack (only went in for a drink). The onion rings were also way above average, crunchy and delicious! Austin the bartender is really sweet and keeps the customers happy. Enjoyed sitting at the bar so he could serve us again. Don't recommend going on a holiday weekend though. What were we thinking? Well the beach had no parking and the streets were very busy. Glad we found a place to park at the pink elephant. We just wanted a little beach outing for vow-renewal "anniversary." Wink. Probably going again soon on our engagement anniversary!

I finally had to get up and go find our waitress inside at the end to get our check to leave. Would have loved to have a good experience. May try one more time.

An unforgettable Opolo Wine Pairing Dinner experience at Lakehouse Restaurant!…read more We were beyond excited to be invited, and for a moment we truly forgot we were in Babcock Ranch -- every course and pairing delivered a world-class dining experience. Amuse: The Broccolini Velouté paired with Chandon Brut was light, silky, and the perfect elegant opener. First Course: The Blue Crab Salad with mango, avocado, jalapeño, and key lime paired with Summit Creek Sauvignon Blanc was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Second Course: The Lobster Doppio with Yukon gold potato, asparagus, and butter-carrot emulsion paired with Summit Creek Zinfandel was rich, buttery, and absolutely indulgent. Third Course: The Duck Confit with celeriac and red wine gastrique paired with Summit Creek Cabernet Sauvignon was bold, savory, and deeply flavorful. Intermezzo: The Lemon Martini Sorbetini was refreshing, citrusy, and perfectly cleansing between courses. Entrée: The Filet Mignon with wild mushrooms and demi-glace paired with Opolo Petite Syrah was tender, luxurious, and perfectly matched with the wine's depth. Dessert: The Cocoa Choux Puff with chocolate crémeux, salted caramel, and vanilla paired with After Dark Old Fashioned was decadent, smooth, and the ultimate finale. Huge shoutout to Chef John, the Sous Chef, and the entire Lakehouse team for pulling off such an extraordinary culinary experience -- the execution, hospitality, and attention to detail were flawless. We waited about an hour on a Friday before spring break because we wanted a dockside seat! Worth it! 4 or 5 different brews on tap.. We sat outside & enjoyed the view--boats, gulls, & fish just steps away. We started with onion rings & fish dip. Both tasty. Hubby & son had the fried shrimp special with one side. Hubby loved his coleslaw (mayo based) & son's rice was a small portion. I had a grouper Rueben--delicious fish but not very ruebenish--no sauerkraut--coleslaw instead. Fries & pickle were crisp. You're supposed to toss your shrimp tails to the gulls! They catch them mid-air! All the staff was friendly & accommodating. A must stop spot!

We ordered an Arnold Palmer and a Ponce De Leon margarita, mozzarella sticks, shrimp basket, chicken fingers basket and (2) Florida orange cakes to go. Mozzarella sticks- average. Biggest problem- from 9-18 people just standing around talking, making staff walk around them. Other problems- some people just walk in past the front desk and just seat themselves ( the privileged). Total bill with tip $100 . Don't need to travel a half hour to just be ok. Won't be back.

The service was just as disappointing , we waited about 15 minutes. The server took another couples order that came in 5 minutes after we were seated, before she even greeting us then said she would be right back and made us wait an additional 5 minutes. She even had a rude stuck up attitude throughout the visit, (they charge you 18-20% tip service fee to your bill automatically) so I assumed that's also another reason they give awful service. The alcoholic drinks were disgusting and a waste of money. They also brought out incorrect items and responded with even more attitude when the mistakes were mentioned. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming and had undertones of racial bias.. Although I'm Hispanic, I look white and all of the friends I came with were not hispanic, and the way we were treated from other guests in the restaurant were noticeably different and uncomfortable. Overall, the experience came across as unfriendly, disrespectful, discriminatory and disappointing, this was our first and last visit here and I will tell everybody I know locally to avoid this place at all cost due to the experience we had!
