As I write this, I'm in my second year of college. I managed to escape this hellhole after 4th grade, and I've finally come to terms to tell my story. I've been to at least 5 other schools and encountered others who survived this place. If this review makes even one parent reconsider their decision to subject their child to this "school," I would be honored to have saved that child the suffering. First and foremost, the "Christian values" that are said to practiced here are entirely nonexistent. The school is every "ist" and "phobic" that can possibly be named, and I say that as a conservative Christian. Secondly, I want to take a moment to discuss how horribly I was treated by the faculty here. I have high-functioning autism. I was one of very few neuro-divergent students in the school. The school openly says that they do not specifically offer support for special needs, and I have no issue with that. I do, however, take great displeasure with the verbally and physically abusive attitude that was demonstrated towards myself and other neuro-divergent students solely for being different. Something as small as requiring more time to complete a test or falling behind in your note-taking would result in being screamed at as loud as possible. I will not use full names, as per Yelp's guidelines. In the dire hopes that the individuals administrating this school who treated me this way read this, I direct the following statements towards "Mrs. T," who now serves on the administrative body from my brief research. Your English class caused me fear to the point that I was scared to go to school every day for at least one entire year. I was not scared of the Shirley English regime, arguably one of the worst curriculums ever created, nor was I scared of doing poorly in the class. I was scared that because I was different and because I struggled to keep up with taking 3-5 PAGES OF NOTES PER DAY in the 4th grade for an English course, you would place your face so close to mine that your eyes met my own with mere inches between and scream in my face about my worthlessness and lack of intelligence and respect any time I raised my hand to ask a question or requested that you slow down so that I and other students could catch up to the second entire board of notes you had written out. Other students without neuro-divergence were not treated this way. I'm not sure if you read in my file that I was different, I'm not sure if the administration above you at the time told you I was different and you acted on that, perhaps I demonstrated signs of poor social skills or work-related stress, both of which I heavily experienced as a child. Regardless which of these (or what combination) were true, they did not justify the cruel and abusive behavior you demonstrated towards myself and other students with similar conditions. Most of that goes for another teacher who I will simply refer to as "Mrs R." who taught an Art class in which I was treated similarly. I can recall numerous incidents where other students would harass me, and I would be punished even if I remained silent and ignored them because you assumed I was the problem, or that I was somehow a good scapegoat so you could maintain your perfect Christian upper-class image. I ultimately left the school because my guardian was told that I would be expelled for my divergence if I didn't leave of my own accord, and we did. I homeschooled for a few years and did some other schools, found other Oaktree survivors, made friends over it. I have several friends I wouldn't have ever spoken to except that we had this experience in common. They all have similar stories. This school left me with scars I never forgot. That may sound exaggerated or dramatic, but the school I graduated from recently hosted an event at the church adjacent to Oaktree's campus, and I will not forget the panic attack I had when I was forced to attend. Those things stick with you. I had a similar reaction when forced to come back to take my PSAT before graduating highschool. I cannot make choices for you. I cannot keep you from sending your child here, but I beg you that you consider the Christian values you're trying to find and look elsewhere. They are not present in this system. I'm 19 now, and despite still being in higher education, and despite the fact that many (especially parents) will likely still view that as the age of a child, I would like to think I've taken the time to deal with these issues and mature. I graduated high school with a 3.95 GPA and am currently pursuing a BS degree in Animation. I'm striving for a future, and it did not begin with Oaktree, but may still succeed in spite of it. "Beware, you shall know them by their fruits!" Matthew 7:16. Ungodly excuses for "christians" as I use that term VERY reluctantly and loosely when referencing this school and their affiliates! I beseech all parents even CONSIDERING, do NOT put your child in this school! Bullying and Nepotism is rampant within the ranks! It has a totally secularized re-brand of christianity! This school's principle, no need to mention as you know who you ARE, is a spineless jellyfish of a "man," I call you that as I don't really know what to describe you as! IF you want action behind words, this man is not for you as he couldn't find his way out of a paper bag without his mom's or his misguided teachers and affiliates help! If you don't have a literal harem of a family of children bringing in big tuition bucks for his school you are less than in the schools everyday scheme of things! Forgotten Families! So many dismissed, all in the name of their misguided brand of God and christianity! Cruel and Cold, if you want genuine connection, LOOK ELSEWHERE! In bed, with The Bridge church which glorifies apostate doctrine along with the unbiblical doctrine of the school allowing all sorts of people with very peculiar ideas of God and the Bible's interpretation. And for what? ALL in the name of the almighty dollar! These two misguided venues go hand and hand like a monolith of the utmost self-importance and self-righteousness! Your child will be dismissed and traumatized after years of neglect and dismissal from their teachers, peers, and the administration! Teachers and staff can do no wrong! Puffed up with their own importance but in truth are really bad at teaching and at being christians! If I didn't know better I would describe these two places as a cult in which God has very little to do with it! Throw in the connection with Edinburgh Chick-fil-a and you have a disturbing trinity of "God!" Always in the name of God but they know him not! The trauma is not worth saving some money on a half-a** school in teaching AND in kindness! read more

If you are seeking a school that provides a strong, well-rounded education, this is unfortunately not the place. One of the first red flags should have been the limited instructional hours. It is simply not possible to cover grade-level material effectively in such a short school day. My child attended for two years, and by the second year I began to notice troubling gaps in what they were being taught. I compared their progress with students in public schools--even those in lower grades--who were already covering concepts my child had yet to encounter. When we transitioned to a new school this year, the extent of the problem became undeniable. My child is now significantly behind their peers, and we have had to hire a tutor and even consider whether repeating a grade might be necessary. It is heartbreaking to realize that, despite paying for what we believed would be a quality private education, our child has been left at such a disadvantage. If what you want is a "feel-good" environment, this school might seem appealing. But if your priority is actual academic progress, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. In addition to the weak academics, communication with parents is poor. I often felt discouraged from even entering the building, which only heightened my concerns about transparency. To make matters worse, the children are sent to play in the parking lot, as there is no proper playground. Please save yourself the heartache and your child the setback by exploring other options. read more
