But I usually end up spending a lot on hotels, which don't give you a lot of freedom and then I spent money on restaurants and laundry services. So last years' holiday I decided to try renting a flat, as a friend suggested. Well this place was lovely. Fully furnished, a pool and a gym and a short walk from the market and the sea. We actually saved money compared to the year before and we were eating great food and having a good time. Definitely worth a try if you have extended Oz holidays!

We got in touch with Furnished Properties and they offered us several properties in the area which suited us perfectly as our daughter was staying with us as was our 2 sons. We wanted a house and garden and not an apartment and we all wanted bedrooms of our own. We got this delightful 4 bedroom / 3 bathroom property which came with car rental included (nice touch) saved us a few $100 in rental costs at least. The Property was nice, the wife loved it. Had all we needed and more, nice large TV with Foxtel, BBQ and decking out back, nice large welcome pack, DVD player, and lots more Furniture was clean and modern as were the linen and towels We had no problems during our stay so not really any need to contact Furnished Properties but during the booking process they were really nice I would rent from them again on our next trip for NewYear

Not being able to use the shower as there was no water pressure and hot water didn't work in shower only sink. Bathtub was so filthy I wore flip flops to even get in it. (Only to realize I couldn't use it anyways) when I called the front desk they told me that the hot water traveled from the bottom up... which made zero sense due to the sink working fine. Then that night, Not being able to access the new room they switched us to on our wedding night, then waiting half hour for the front desk "security guard" (who apparently has no access to the bookings and was left no note about this situation and it showed we were still in sewage room) who also treats you horribly until finally getting in touch with the manager before you can finally go to bed after your long ass wedding day.... And once you finally get to the new room you see the biggest cockroach ever on the wall... During our 2 days there, someone puked in one elevator and there was piss on the floor in the other going up to our room on our wedding night. Thank god our wedding was beautiful because our wedding night was a nightmare. I wrote a survey to the staff and they basically wrote me back blowing me off telling me I overreacted.... The GMs response was "we have no control over a broken pipe and we came right away and put down towels !!! and gave you keys to another room" (gave keys to another room but we could not access said room when we returned and were sent back to the sewage flood room) His next response was it was a broken bath tap! you knew this! (I definitely didn't and the bathroom was directly above the leak but the bath was not leaking...) Took 0 responsibility for their faults on every other aspect. Barely even an apology. So if you wana deal with all that, this is the place for you!! If we hadn't been so utterly exhausted we would have just cut our losses and took an Uber home. So ridiculous. This place is a bio hazard. General manager has some major issues as well , the way he responds to negative reviews isn't only unprofessional but he straight up lies. it's really bad. Only saving grace of this place was the nice guy, kodie, who checked us in. He was great. Everything else was next level awful

So I decided to go ahead with this place. Until now I have been happy with the accommodation. The apartments are nice and complete with the bathroom en suite. The lobby is a nice place to relax and chill. Internet speeds are quite good. The staff is quite friendly and fixes up stuff pretty quickly upon your request. The macintosh computers downstairs are free to use anytime. There is a pool table, though I wish the table was bigger. You do also get free BBQ every Friday as of now. I would definitely give it a 5 star if they did have a gym and if the place was a bit bigger with more spaces to enjoy and relax. Also check out with then as they have special offers for various uni students. Right now they have a special offer going on for UTS students.

If you are under 18 and don't wanna stay in homestay I highly recommend looking at other options as urbanest is really unflexible with curfews. furthermore, doesn't give you the independence gained from other places as they have things like "monthly welfare meetings" and quarterly inspections.
