Burton is celebrating over a hundred years of business, and they do a great speciality of game; local duck, pheasant, partridge, as well as beef, Dorset Lamb and Somerset pork. in addition home cooked ham, pork pies and they put together freezer packs to order. This is all pretty good and saves on carbon footprints - I'm all for it. I wish we could see more individual shops again, and so I'm glad about butchers like these and local markets.

This is a huge store. And I don't like it…read more We arrived in pouring rain, and had to go in one direction to get a trolley and then back to go in. As it was our first time we didn't know the lay out, but that can be a huge adventure when there's some time on your hands, so we just enjoyed the ride. We did decide to have some lunch. This was choas - there was one woman on the till, and everyone ahead of me seemed new to the store and no one knew what to do. The lady on the check out certainly wasn't giving any tips out. It seemed you helped yourself to soup, but had to wait at the til until the lunch of your choice was ready. Choas! Once seated, my daughter's lunch was much too hot, and mine was a mixture of too hot and just warm. oh dear When we were leaving, I asked if someone could help me with my bags to the car. Off they went to find someoneafter almost five minutes I gave up waiting and made three trips in the rain alone.

I loved the bright, clean…read moreinterior and was surprised to see such a wide range of fresh fish, shellfish and frozen fish. I was especially delighted to find locally caught lobster and crab. The guys were super helpful and very knowledgable. They gave me tips on how to cook my lobster which I have to say was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back.
