Snag is no baskets. and a pound again for a trolley. and also like other stores they charge for carrier bags, so bring your own. And they do not have aloyalty card scheme which would be nice if they did..

The staff are very friendly, and so are most of the other customers. Best of all, using short cuts, it's less than five minutes walk from us, so it's a convenience store! Not to mention they money's gone out of my account, and they can't dispute this as it clearly says on my statement asda stores. Sort it out.

A big retailer now has the monopoly on food shopping in Old Town…read more A huge (and ugly) apartment block was recently completed, so now part of the ground floor is leased by Sainsbury's. a quarter of a mile away is a Sainsbury's supermarket, albeit a smallish one. How wondrous if an independent grocer had been able to take this spot! So now the Poole area is divided between Sainsbury, Tesco and Asda. The High Street is losing clothing shops and becoming a street of banks and charity shops. A sign of the times. Well something was needed in this slot, not sure if it should be Sainsbury's though.

In winter we don't use it very much at all. Ah, but come the summer, we often pop in on the way home to get ice cream for desert, or just for ice creams sake. They do great bargains on ice cream, so while in there I find great stuff to throw on the barbie as well. Near the checkout, you can get milk, as you suddenly realise you're running out upon seeing it. The staff aren't the friendliest I've come across, but they're not bad. The aisles are wide, so no no trolley collisions, but I have seen a few toddlers lying in tantrum mode. An asset, all round and jolly useful!

I have recently discovered this brilliant budget shopping store in Winton. I had always thought…read morethat the quality of food would be poor because the prices are so low but how wrong I was. I have now started to do my weekly shop here and can get almost everything I need. They even do common brands as well as there own. The fruit and veg is fresh and excellent quality and so it the meat and ham. I have tried out many new things and have been very pleased with everything I have bought. You must remember your own bags though because you have to pay for theirs and the checkouts are pretty small and there is no space to pack your shopping. The best thing is that you are in and out in such a small time and have everything you need. Highly recommend.

Today i had yet another reason to root for lidl, esp this branch. I shopped at the branch , and inadvertently left behind a paid for food item, {price 3 pounds} behind on the self-service counter. Several hours later, i popped in to ask if it had been handed in. With a minimum of fuss, the store gave me a complimentary replacement. At a high end supermarket, i would have expected this, but at a budget-supermarket it was a pleasant surprise! Well, it prompted me to do this review.
