Originally the unincorporated township of Gaffney, S.C. purchased (in 1850) six acres of land for the purpose of a public cemetery. By 1872 it had expanded to its present size of forty eight acres. I stopped by here this morning to visit the gravesites of my father's side of the family. I had the opportunity to inspect each one to ensure that all's in order. Some of my relatives have been passed a long time ago. Many have been deceased before my time and I never knew them. It was nice to visit my parents and twin brothers place of interment. So many fond memories! This entire cemetery is maintained by the City of Gaffney, S.C. and they are doing a great job! read more
