I purposely asked the property manager if Oak Tree Village was low income housing and was told that it was not. However after signing the lease, I was told that the majority of these apartments are subsidized. I was also told that there aren't people who party here and it was a "quiet community." Fast forward to one year later. I hear my neighbors screaming at each other and their children every day, feel the floor move from people's loud music, smell cigarette smoke, and have to listen to several people partying on the property while drunk and belligerent. This property also sticks passive aggressive notes in your door which claim there is a problem and that there will be a lease violation, yet they don't explain what needs to be corrected. I have had several inspections, and maintenance coming into the house without notice, though I will say they are on top of things. I will say that the apartment is spacious enough, yet it is very outdated. There is very little air flow, leaving the upstairs stagnant and hot, even when it's cold on the main level. I was told that I will have to pay more after the first year of rent, even though mine is one of the apartments in need of updates. This is frustrating because I was given the choice of moving into either an updated apartment and paying more, or moving into an outdated apartment and paying less.
