Not only are the rooms so cute and I mean every little detail they thought of. From the tissue holder, disco ball, chalkboard on the door, 75 inch tv, booklet with information and pamphlet showcasing the history of Ponderosa Hotel (the original). The amenities alone are worth it. First when you checkin the process is so easy and the staff is so sweet. You're also greeted with a complimentary drink. Then you enter your room through either door with a code assigned to you to enter the keypad. I loved this because sometimes those cards don't work or get deactivated. They have a beautiful lobby that is completely stocked if you need drinks/snacks. There is an arcade (games are free), pool, giant chess and other yard games, lounge chairs, pickleball court, musical playground, swing, garden, telescope, bikes to ride. My littles didn't run out of things to do at all. We may book a weekend trip just to come back and enjoy this hotel more. This is prob my new fave place to stay if I need a quick getaway. Of course, that and anything else Aggie is played way up here at the Texas A&M Hotel. I was in town for a Class of 1980 Reunion and snagged a very reasonable $142 per night group rate. I didn't get the Kyle field view, but on a non-game weekend, so what? I enjoyed my 3 day stay very much. The room was spacious, had nice desk space, plenty of storage, and really comfortable bed that I slept well on, good WIFI, and an excellent shower. I ordered breakfast sandwiches at the cafe on ground floor, checked out the Aggie branded merchandise at their well appointed gift shop, enjoyed a grand happy hour reception at Block T, and felt honored by all the Howdy Hospitality. This Hotel's campus location made walking anywhere very convenient, especially since I didn't rent a car. This place most probably takes on more boisterous energy on game day, and I was happy with the slower pace during my stay. The Texas A&M Hotel would be a definite first choice in some future return trip to Aggieland.

Lancelot. Not Antoinette…read more The Antoinette is an upstairs corner room with a balcony overlooking the turtle pond. Lancelot is downstairs. Lots of windows. No outside access. Both rooms are nice. We booked Antoinette, but because of a temperature control glich, we were moved. Mrs Jean is the Inn Keeper. She's great! She and the staff provide an amazing breakfast spread. Muffins, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, juice. Today's hot dish was a bacon egg quiche with sundried tomato puree. Mimosas with MH sparkling are included, as well. Your stay includes a hosted tour of the property and a wine and cheese from the Wine Bar. This was our third stay. We will do this again.

The woman at the front desk was very pleasant and gave us room 214 which recently had a new A/C installed and provided us a cool 68 degree stay. I did notice that at the rear of the front office they had an ice machine available for guests; but to my dismay I witnessed a woman drive up and get herself a bucket full of ice and then drive away. About 30 minutes after checking in , we received a courtesy call from the front desk asking if they could do anything for us. I haven't experienced that in years! Although we were right off the highway, the construction of the room provided us with a good night's sleep! Our bathroom was very nice with a large back lit mirror and a tub with a shower curtain that bowed outward to provide the user with a little extra space. Getting out of the shower was a little awkward as there was no support handle to grab onto either inside the shower or on the wall. Overall, a very nice stay with a Dairy Queen down the road a piece and a Cefco convenience store across the street with a small BBQ joint next door. We will definitely be back!

I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel and I really appreciated that they have set quiet hours that are enforced. The quiet hours policy that they share with all guests at checkin gave me confidence that I'd get a good night sleep at the hotel. The room I booked reminded me of a brand new condo unit as it was relatively clean and smelled and looked rather new. The fixtures were nice in the full kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. I was placed on the first floor and I typically detest first floor walk up types of rooms for safety reasons but I honestly felt safe in this hotel. There is a small scaled gym that guests can use and free coffee and tea in the lobby area. The hotel is not too far from Texas A&M and close to restaurants and gas stations. Each room has an ironing board and iron and hair dryer. And my room had a living/dining area, full kitchen, two (2) televisions, and a full bathroom. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was there not being a night desk person. However, they give guest a number to call in the night if there are issues or if there is a noise complaint.

Every single rule must be known and followed, or you will be accosted at every turn. Pretty sure she watches all of the cameras and waits for you to do something wrong (like having half of a car tire in the dirt parked at your spot). We are happy to correct anything we do wrong especially if we do not know the rules. But the WAY she goes about her job is terrible customer service. Petty issues that she makes a HUGE deal. Kids are not allowed to do anything alone and will be yelled at if they exceed 5 MPH on their BICYCLE. We moved our RV there in March and would have stayed through the end of the year but had to leave because of her directly. I was genuinely shocked to hear from other guests that this is exactly what she does and she has driven away COUNTLESS RVers!!! They say she makes them so uncomfortable they do not even want to use the amenities. Becky lost them another 4 thousand dollars at least from us! Happy to take our business elsewhere.
