I am a traveling nurse and I stopped traveling because of the DON it has been a very long time since I have seen a DON care for the residents like she does. and the social worker Letti she has the biggest heart she cares about her residents. She goes above and beyond for her residents. She just doesn't pass it on to someone else, Letti heart is in the right spot, and she takes care of business and it shows. Some staff has been there for over 13 yrs that says something on its own.

But, they run themselves ragged trying to do all they need to do. They definitely need more staff. My main complaint for this facility is that the rehab staff have a tendency to talk about other patients while working with their patients which is against hipaa privacy. I don't feel that is appropriate. Not all patients in the facility have cognitive or hearing disabilities so they hear what the rehab staff is saying. I think this is something the facility needs to address.

Hendrick hospital owns about everything now as of last year but Not Generations home healthcare. What we loved about Generations services: 1. Prompt and courteous! 2. Professional. 3. Keep their appointments!! 4. From the nurses aid, LVN, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Social worker and Registered Nurse - All were experienced, great bedside manners, showed a real concern for my spouses recovery and my questions as well. I never felt uncomfortable with my silly questions. 5. Office staff, especially Amanda M., alleviated all of our anxieties about insurance, care, etc. 6. They are tricare Military certified and recently tricare full participators. Awesome for us military retirees (and active duty). Cons: Hendricks healthcare 'system' NEW MONOPOLY created a situation where we didn't know we had a CHOICE. Hendricks health bought out the other hospital in Abilene as well as Brownwood hospital. They own their own home health care agency and if you don't ask, that's who you get. Just sayin'.

I'm so glad I scheduled an appointment. The entire staff has been beyond wonderful. They are great with answering the phone, scheduling appointments, making sure you are greeted and feel welcomed. My care here has been therapy for a dislocation for my elbow. I feel I get the utmost thorough treatment. They use ultrasonic treatment, heat therapy, exercise, and massage. They were not unaddressed because of the people who worked in assisted living but more because the larger organization lacks a comprehensive vision of senior care. The Wesleyan has the possibility to be an exceptional community but the lack of education for staffing, the lack of an integrated community understanding of senior care, the wagging of the entire vision of the community by the finance office has deadened the significant impact on resident care. As a non-profit the failure to be creatively engaged in their community by reshaping their board and advanced engagement in the community through education on senior care set them alongside all other senior communities with little or nothing unique or interesting. If you choose to use their service you will be safe, fed and sheltered and have a number of other activities but nothing uniquely special that sets them apart from all the other facilities and retirement centers.

I have only been an employee for a very short time, but I can tell that I'm blessed for being hired, the Administration and employees are very kind and welcoming. The kitchen/culinary staff do make some good food! The facilities are extremely clean and quite nice, very comfortable. There is a lot going on as far as activities as well. I feel that anyone living in one of their facilities is blessed.
