After having Drew and his crew successfully paint the exterior of our home last spring (2025), we hired them again in October 2025 to refinish our deck and railings. It was important to us to have the work done before the winter, however, because the weather had been rainy and was getting colder, we expressed concern about timing and relied on Drew's professional judgment. If the work needed to wait until spring, that was okay. He assured us the conditions were acceptable and that the work would hold up, but if a few areas needed attention after winter, he would return to 'touch up'. Initially, the deck looked good, and we paid in full. Unfortunately, within just a few weeks, the paint began peeling and flaking off across the entire deck and railings. The attached pictures show the deck less than 6 months after the work was completed.  Although most of the deck had been previously painted, there were several areas where boards had been replaced.  The paint is not adhering to any of it.  As a result, we are now left with a severely deteriorated deck after paying for what we believed would be a professional job. Since raising these concerns shortly after completion, Drew has been unwilling to return to inspect the work or discuss how to make it right.  At this point, he has stopped responding altogether. The condition of our deck is terrible, and we've had multiple neighbors and visitors ask what happened. While it's embarrassing, we've been honest with them about both the quality of the work and the lack of follow-through.  Drew is dismayed we shared our experience with them and has informed us that based on our sharing, our relationship is over. He will not return to discuss or remedy in any way. In hindsight, this experience mirrors a negative review we previously read which Drew dismissed when we first hired him. We trusted his explanation of that review at the time (difficult client), but unfortunately, we now find we should have trusted the review and gone another way. We were very pleased with their work...at first. However, the follow up was unprofessional and the owner became difficult to work with. Unfortunately, there was a tough situation in the end. They were paid fully with the expectation was that work would be completed. It did not happen. Equipment was left behind. Many plants in our garden were destroyed. And a lack of commitment and communication ensued. We try to support young people who start their own businesses. However, there has to be the ability and desire to get the job done. If you would have asked us mid way through the job, we would have definitely given them a glowing review. Now, not so much. The house really looks great. However, the job is not complete, and at this point never will be...at least not by Oak Painting. read more

When I first met him, he said he pays attention to detail and could do other work other than painting and this is why I hired them. I hired them after the quote and took a few days off to be home... then the date was pushed back a week but I didn't know until I reached out to them the week before to confirm. Even against my better judgment, after reading a recent bad review, I still went ahead with this company. Overall it looks good from afar, but there is so much wrong. First of all, the job was supposed to take 2 days, but on the 3rd day at 10 PM At night, the job was finally complete. I gave him a tip because he put together a chandelier and hung 2 smoke detectors that he offered to do but I end up having to pay $250 for an electrician to come in and fiinish the work that he did not complete (even though that was in the quote). The electrician stated that it was a good thing i called him because all the wiring was wrong, and there was actually burnt wires where he connected, which could have caused a fire and he left it hanging by the wires and not the chain. I debated on contacting him for quite a few weeks, but as I looked at the paint job, I became really upset considering i paid almost 4,000 So I text him a long message and showed him pictures of all of the spots that they missed his response....we are not perfect, we are human and capable of missing things!! he originally offered to fix minor imperfections, but then said what makes you think you'll be happy after that... He also threw back in my face that I had him put the chandelier together and smole detectors up (which he offered to do) But I also gave him ex $60 at the end as a tip which he never mentioned. I looked past a lot of things. Him dumping black paint on my brand new carpet (yes you can see it) running outside and screaming so the neighbors could hear him, his workers who were you blowing there nose non stop and not washing their hands, and spitting in my sink a few times, yes we could all hear them!! Paint on my kitchen floor where they painted doors, my hand railing painted white when I asked for it black, all the drywall imperfections when the quote included sanding and smoothing all wall imperfections....but your response of customer service when I sent pics of dissatisfaction made me write this review... If you're going to advertise that you pay attention to detail, pay attention to detail - you should have made this right. When they did my deck at first I thought they did a good job. But months later the deck is bubbling up and the stain is coming off. They used sub par materials to patch the holes in my deck.Now the patch is coming off and the wood is rotting.I tried calling them and contacting them,but he never got back to me.
