I had a terrible experience, they just pick what they want to X-ray with out even talking to me the patient. I mean un believable told me my insurance would only look at one part of my pain at a time?? Who is the Dr here? Are these Dr's on puppet strings of the insurance or are they willing to work towards a cure the PA was worthless to say the least I felt like I knew more about medical then she did telling me, in the spine we have vertebrate and the spinal cord is inside the them, wtf no shit !!! I came in for back pain and you take X ray of my Neck. Kept asking me what I thought and if it was ok with every worthless word out of her mouth. How bout having some confidence and explaining what your professional opinion is about my pain maybe take a look at my back I would be better off at a chiropractor least they do something. These places are in it for the cash and not the patients. 10 seconds in she says I want to order an MRi of course you do of my neck!! hey!!, I am here for my back then she says ok we can do MRI of your back. Felt like a bad skit of who's on first. I am sure they have done some good things for folks,the facility is beautiful. 1st impressions mean a lot. I started going to Oak Orthopedic when I had a bone spur on my heal. I was very impressed with the care I received, before, during, and after surgery. Since then Dr. Lee has been the doctor for my knee pain. He and his staff have made me feel very comfortable. He has directed me to other doctors within the group for other medical issues..Last year I suffered rotator cuffs injury That required surgery. Dr. Taylor and Dr Ankowiac were my team of surgeons. Came in to see Dr. Eddie Jones for my hip pain again. First time I saw him in 2015, treatment protocol included cortisone injection into hip and physical therapy. It worked well, until now. Today, Dr. Jones took new x-rays and explained the new treatment options. Looks like surgery is closer then I thought. Dr. Jones is a caring, friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable professional. He takes time to ensure you fully understand what is going on and recommends that you do your own research and come back with any questions you have. Dr Santiago and his staff at Oak Orthopedic meet and exceed exceptional patient care. In 2009 I was injured at work and was referred to Dr Santiago, after a couple of treatments I was healed without any issues at all. The following year, I started showing signs of osteoarthritis in my hands, again I received outstanding care from Dr Santiago and his staff. Two years later, I moved to FL and needed an orthopedic doctor. However, after seeing four different doctors for the same problem, I realized nobody was going to measure up to Dr Santiago. I had nagging shoulder pain from lugging suitcases to and from the airport for work. I saw Dr. Ellis, who suggested conservative treatments first, including a cortisone shot and physical therapy, which I agreed with, but unfortunately it didn't give me relief for very long. He suggested having Dr. Corcoran see it, who prescribed a minimally invasive scope to relieve some of the grinding that was going on inside my shoulder. What a difference! I felt relief right away, and it felt even better after a few weeks of physical therapy. The therapists were shocked that I could do a "Touchdown" pose like an NFL referee so soon. I can't say enough about Dr. Ellis, Dr. Corcoran, and the whole support team at OAK. I'm a believer! read more

I was referred to Dr. Ellis by my chiropractor. I found him to be knowledgeable, friendly and his treatment plan for me was effective. The wait times? Horrible. The first time I went there it was during the day and it was busy. Once I got there, I was told they wanted me to have x-rays before seeing the doctor, even though I came with MRI results, I went along with that, so it was well over an hour and a half before I saw the doctor. This evening I went there for a follow up appointment. I was delighted to see the parking lot had less than 20 cars in it and the waiting room only had two other people besides myself there. But, I ended up waiting 45 in a exam room before the doctor came in. There are a few things wrong with this - This facility seems to forget that their revenue come from patients. So besides being a patient, I am a customer, us customers are their revenue source. After 40 minutes of waiting, I opened the door, and said to the staff that was laughing and having a good time at the station , that I have been waiting 40 minutes and the doctor hasn't come in yet. They all looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. After several seconds of silence, one finally spoke up and said the doctor had seen a couple of other patients and was with them a long time. Well, connect the dots, folks! Tell the patients waiting that the doctor is running xx minutes late. Have some consideration for the patient; respect their time. When Dr. Ellis came in, two other people came in and and the doctor started talking. I had to interrupt and say "who are these two people?" One guy was in street clothes and a lady was holding a chart, so I assumed she worked there, but she wasn't the person that brought me into the exam room. Turned out one was an intern and the other was a nurse. I had to say "it's probably a good idea to let the patient know who these people are." A guy in street clothes wearing no I.D? Same for the "nurse" that came in, not wearing a badge. Basic etiquette and consideration is missing at Oak. And why it is acceptable for staff to run around there with no visible I.D. in this day and age is beyond me. Another thing I have issue with is when I went to check in, the receptionist whipped off a bill from the printer and asked me if I wanted to pay my previous charges today. I told her I need to see E.O.B.s from my insurance company before making any payment to Oak. I'm in a PPO and I want to see the negotiated rates for services and balances due as calculated by my insurer first. The sheet she handed me didn't even indicate I was in a PPO. I know not to pay a provider before seeing what my carrier paid and what they say I owe. If you overpay a provider, you may never see a refund. Overall, I was disappointed with how Oak is run. read more

Inquiries to obtain medical records has been quite difficult from OAK Orthopedics. My request was sent over to Quest who then sent me a form to fill out. So far, all's well. Now my form is filled out and ready to send back. In order to get my records, I have to send it back to OAK, who does not have any email address, only fax. Then OAK signs my request to send it back to Quest who then releases my records. This back and forth seems quite unnecessary but the part that bothers me is that they do NOT have an email address or place to send documents. It's not like I can just walk into the office and obtain this information as I live out of state. This is the 21st century! With all the money they are taking from patients, they should be able to afford an email address or even ANY location that can be used to request documents for claims to be paid out. Not to mention having to make calls during the work day which takes time away from other duties and dodging meetings to make calls. RIDICULOUS!!! read more

I have an issue with the waiting time. Today I had a 8:15 appointment ,they called only one person .I was called about 8:55,saw the doctor at 9:15 took 10 minutes and was going to get a steroid shot and waited 15 minutes more before I walked out. If they was an emergency or a delay Nobody told me. The time before I went to see about a knee replacement . My wife and I waited for an hour and half before the doctor came in. I fell they don't think that my time is a matter to them. read more
