The reasons why we chose Bodhi to take our family photos: 1. He responded very quickly to our request for a quote (the same with a few other photographers). 2. He was able to fit us in his schedule with only a WEEK notice (the same with a few other photographers). 3. His quote was much cheaper compared to $500 from another photographer (who also wanted the $500 up front due to the short notice). 4. His website has TONS of family photos on the beach. One of our sons has autism and the other is a wild two-year old. Bodhi was fun, friendly, down-to-earth, and extremely patient with our kids. He was able to get their attention just enough for him to get some "formal" shots, even at 5:30 in the morning. We were hoping for at least a very nice family photo on the beach and we got a truly EPIC family photo on the beach (with some fantastic candid shots, too). What are you waiting for? Bodhi did the photography for our commitment ceremony in February, and it was a pleasure to work with him. All of our pictures came out beautifully, and the post work he did is perfect- not to mention how quickly we received our pictures! Bodhi is incredibly flexible, and was so easy going in dealing with the weather (frequent rain showers) and our requests, numerous as they were. He has great vision and was able to tell us what would and wouldn't work, and got some amazing shots of us. I would recommend him for anything. We can't thank you enough, Bodhi- you are a phenomenal photographer and we are so thankful for your time with us. read more

Bodhi is the photgropher you want in O'ahu. I recently decided to propose to my girlfriend while on vacation in Hawaii and hired Bodhi to take surprise photographs of the proposal (on a beach on the North Shore) as well as staged pictures during the sunset after we were finished. I live in California, and Bodhi was willing to talk with me on the phone multiple times to recommend specific perfect locations, the best times for sunset pictures, how to best set up the "sneaky" element of the pictures during the proposal, etc. He was beyond accommodating and a joy to work with. The pictures turned out beautifully. Incredibly professional and artistic - you can tell he really knows what he is doing and has mastered this craft over the years. You can also tell how much he loves his job - and it shows in every picture he takes. read more

I've worked with Bodhi several times and each time is better than the last. I'm a wedding planner and continue to use his services over and over and am always impressed. His work is website quality and gorgeous. He works flawlessly in indoor and outdoor settings and is especially great at sunset photos. If I could him 10 stars I would (and that's a lot coming from someone who works with photographers constantly). Thanks Bodhi for all your help! You're amazing. read more

We are so glad that we picked Bodhi for our Hawaiian sunset beach photo shoot. Even though we were super late, he was very understanding and accommodating. He encouraged and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. And as the sun was setting, he knew exactly where to capture the best views... on the beach, or the lagoon or the deck, etc. He was open to different ideas and we ended up with some really good memories to take back home! read more

Bodhi was absolutely wonderful! When we first starting planning our wedding, my husband's friend was going to take pictures for us. He was a previous photographer and had all the equipment he said he needed. Fast forward to a little over a month before our wedding and he tells us that he can no longer photograph our wedding due to personal issues. Way to stress me out! We had spent our budget and all the photographers we contacted were either booked already or way out of our budget since I had not initially included the cost of a photographer. After endless days of research, for whatever reason Craigslist popped into my head and after a brief search for "Wedding Photographer" Bodhi's ad popped up. I instantly loved his pictures featured on his website and immediately contacted him via text message. He got back to me within 2 hours, thats a miracle in itself when compared to the others I tried to contact. He was available to meet with him pretty much that very same weekend. We met him and liked his attitude and booked him. At our wedding, he arrived early to scope out the place and look for various places to take pictures and got pictures of all the tablescapes and decorations. He was greet with dealing with our guests and our temperamental flower girls since one of them wasn't feeling good, he never got frustrated with her nor us and just went with the flow. After all our formal pictures were taken we asked him to go around and see if any of the guests wanted individual pictures and he did! All of our guests who took advantage of that already told us they want those pictures and they plan to print them out and display them. Our wedding was this past Saturday, the 8th and we already received our pictures (on the following Tuesday, the 11th). That is absolutely amazing turn around and the pictures came out even better than expected. There were tons of formal and candid pictures which we absolutely love and the quality is breathtaking. We would hire Bodhi again in a heartbeat and we have told all our friends about him. Hire him for your photography needs, you will not be disappointed!!! read more

We hired Bodhi as our maternity photographer. He was very sweet. He provided some great pictures with a very light set up. He was communicative. On the day, there was an issue with location; he gladly gave us more time for our shoot as an act of good faith. The proof was in the product: we loved our photos and were very happy with what we received. Thank you! :) read more

We hired Bodhi to take our family photos to celebrate out parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Our decision was influenced by a few factors: 1) Unlike some other photographers, he replied to our questions fairly quickly and we were able to book a photo session. Some photographers didn't even reply to our e-mails. 2) He has a great gallery on his website, while other photographers either don't have as many or the images aren't very big. We saw an island in one of the galleries and we asked if we could have our photo session there also... and he said it was a perfect setting for sunset photos. 3) When I told my parents about the family photo shoot, they worried that it would be a formal shoot, but Bohdi made it fun and relaxed. We felt a little silly in some poses, but like he explained, this made the pictures turn out great. So definitely follow his instructions. :) And, yes, we are very happy with the results. We would hire him again the next time we're in Hawaii and need a need a photographer. read more

Bodhi was fantastic. He responded right away and was able to get out and shoot our home almost the next day. He was very helpful in answering all of my questions about the type of shots i wanted for the house. His work was spectacular. read more

I can't say enough great things about Bodhi and his wonderful photography! I initially chose Bodhi as my couples photographer based on his quick response and liveliness of the pictures on his website. Bodhi was always knowledgeable, flexible, and willing to go above and beyond my expectations. My photo shoot turned into a surprise proposal after my fiancé texted Bodhi about his request. The same day Bodhi was able to get us a picture of the proposal to share with our family and friends. I can't thank him enough for cherished memories. read more

We travelled from Australia for our mothers 70th birthday and Bodhi captured our family portrait on the beach in Waikiki. There were 15 of us, including 6 kids (ranging in age from 18 months to 13 years) and Bodhi was excellent. He was patient and helpful, open to suggestions but had a clear idea of what he wanted to do and was great at wrangling the kids. The end result was beautiful pictures we'll cherish forever! read more

Let me start out by saying, if you're curious about Bodhi's work (that's probably why you're here reading reviews), don't worry. Bodhi is the best photographer I've worked with and that you'll have. He took my pre-wedding photos and also my wedding reception photos. All of them turned out amazing- vibrant, clear, and most of all captured our true selves. My guests cannot stop raving about my pictures. They are just that spectacular! Bodhi is amazing to work with. Very funny, friendly, easy to communicate with, and most important of all - delivers the photos fast!!! My husband and I woke up the day after our wedding to find that he has sent us two photos to satisfy our curiosity and impatience. He knows us too well by now. It really was beautiful pictures that I had to keep asking Bodhi for more!!! :) This is an honest review of the quality of service and product I've received from him. We look forward to having Bodhi photograph us in the future. read more

Bodhi was so fun to work with and he produced the most amazing photos for our wedding!! I should preface this review by saying I usually take terrible pictures, but Bodhi managed to get the best shots of me that anyone has ever taken. He really knows what he's doing! And he had everyone laughing and smiling the whole time which made the photos even better. He is really really talented. We had such a blast working with him! read more

I found Bodhi online when I was looking for a photographer who could capture our family on the beach, our first time to Hawaii! As I narrowed down my search for a photographer, I really loved Bodhi's galleries online. I loved the way he would capture a family with drops of water flying as children raced through the water or a wave crashing on a rock as a family stood in a perfect rosy glow from a beach sunset. When I contacted photographers with our available dates, I was really impressed with Bodhi. He responded in less than 24 hours, sent an email with pictures as examples of what he could do based on my inquiries and had specific location ideas. I also loved that he would edit ALL the images in the package. It really sealed the deal too when he was willing to do TWO locations and TWO dates to get the perfect shots for a very reasonable price. I was so pleased to meet him and he was such a joy to work with. My kids had a great time splashing around in the water and he captured gorgeous shots that are very natural and full of movement and life. He had a really artistic eye, and his editing was so stunning (without looking fake). You could tell Bodhi was having fun with our family, it was fantastic. Finally, he was professional from first contact, to the actual shoot, to afterwards. He was on time (even early!) both days and he immediately had photos up and edited on the gallery to choose from. My only complaint... there were too many wonderful shots to choose from! I would absolutely recommend him and would use him again in a heartbeat! read more

This was my first time in O'hau with my kids and was looking for a professional photographer to take some sunset and day photos of me and the kids. I came across Ocean Bodhi Photography and was amazed by the work he posted on his site. After reaching out to Bodhi, he was able to take our photos the next day on a two location photo shoot, which I highly recommend! Bodhi was very good with my kids and knew how to get a good reaction out of them during our shoot. I asked for a few different angle shots and he had no problem taking them. I highly recommend Ocean Bodhi Photography! read more

Nothing is more memorable than the experience of carrying your first child. I had seen a lot of Bodhi's photos and always thought they were beautifully done and not just a carbon copy of what others have gotten. I decided to hire Bodhi for my maternity photos and will always be grateful to him for being able to capture a beauty that I myself didn't even know I had. The photos Bodhi took had the beauty of the Hawaiian sunsets and rolling ocean but to my surprise he was also able to capture the love I have for the tiny being I was carrying inside of me. Ocean Bodhi Photography gives you more than just a pretty picture in Hawaii. He is creative and original in capturing the happiness and love you are feeling in your special time in your life. I look forward to seeing my baby's first pictures which will of course be taken by Bodhi. I have no doubt they will be as amazing at my maternity photos. Bodhi has a kindness and talent that will make anyone (even a man hesitant of photos) to feel comfortable and have not only beautiful photos but fun in the process of getting them taken. THANK YOU BODHI!!! read more

Bodhi did a great job with our family photos. My whole family (of 17 from grandma to grandkids) were visiting Hawaii for a week. We called Bodhi when we got there and he was so helpful and accommodating to our needs in relation to family photos. He used his creativity to recommend ideas for the photos and we took some really fun shots. It is hard to please a large group as ours, but we found he was really successful. In addition a really nice person and connected with everyone. read more

Out of 3 photographers i finally picked 1 to capture the moment of our lifetime visiting Oahu and going back home. I reside in Vegas now but half of the family lives on Oahu and with our busy schedules and my parents getting old i figured i had one chance to capture one special moment with all of us! Look no further...i picked the right guy! After talking over the phone for hours describing what i wanted down to tips on location, background and even clothes, Bhodi finally came up w a solution to all and then stated hopefully mother nature would be on our side and she was! The pictures turned out amazing and better than i thought!! Bhodi was professional, prompt, patient and pleasing! He pleased me and that was hard to do! LOL. Good Job Bhodi! I only wish u could take some of that talent to Vegas because i have more moments that id love to capture! :) read more

Great photographer and very responsive with getting back to us on all our questions. We hired Bodhi to take our family pictures and he was incredible from start to finish. He really knows how to capture the right moment and how to perfectly light a picture. The price he charges is extremely reasonable for the time he spends and the quality pictures he takes. He was extremely patient with our 2 boys (age 8 and 4) and made it a fun and enjoyable experience for all of us. And he turned around all our pictures in less than 24 hrs! We took our pictures on a Friday evening and they were ready for viewing Saturday morning. That's customer service! read more

Bodhi went above and beyond on our engagement pictures and they turned out beautifully! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We went on a morning hike on Makapuu trail and Bodhi met us at the top for a surprise engagement and photo session with champagne! He even suggested the location! The photos were easy for us and our families to view, download, and share afterward. We can't say enough good things! Highly recommended! read more
