Wow, not only was the staff so friendly, helpful, and nonagressive, but the gym itself is amazing. The view of the bedford basin is beautiful and worth the membership alone. But the gym is not only the cleanest I have ever been in, but well maintained, new equipment, breathtaking change rooms, and an overall great vibe. I have also had the chance to observe some of the trainers at work. I can tell you that I will definately be using their services. Not only do they watch and take care of their clients but they push them. I have seen trainers just tell a client what to do and while the client is performing the task the trainer is looking around and not paying attention. I am excited to start my membership there. I highly recommend going to check this place out if you want a gym that cares about you after you have paid your dues.

If only for the fact that I am an average, skinny, 5'10 male. And a lot of the guys who go to this gym are professional body builder's! Its great to walk up to them lifting eighty pounds or more with one arm and I'm there with my nice and light fifteen or twenty pounds. I try to stare them down but they simply laugh at me. This gym boasts "a full stock of dumbbells ranging from 3 all the way up to 160 lbs." This is very true. I never find myself waiting for a dumbbell set because someone is using it. They have enough for everyone. And they are improving! they have added what they call a "cardio theatre." In other words, they have more cardio equipment. There is an open space concept which has its advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantage is that everyone can see you while you are working out. But in my opinion, just get some confidence and remind yourself that no matter what body type you are, you rock! Then rock it out! The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. If you start talking to them you find out right away that you feel part of a team or a family. They are there to support you. It feels more like a team or family first and a business second. Which is very important to me. They also have a juice bar and a lot of televisions so you can watch Oprah while on the cardio machines. Their prices are the same as most other gym's. Not very expensive but not quite cheap. In my opinion, you definitely are getting a good price. With the addition of new, on site tanning beds they are showing that they are keeping up with the competition at a steady pace. Fitness Fx has been one of my favorite gyms for all of the above reasons. But perhaps the reason why I give it a fourth star is because they are improving with new equipment, more programs and store renovations without increasing the price of their membership. One of the most admirable things I have seen a gym do in a long time! And I definitely took notice. So stop sitting around, reading my reviews and head for the gym! Afterwards get a protein shake and go back to reading my reviews. :)

Whatever machine I'm interested in is usually available immediately or within 20 minutes. It's a very friendly place, and things are generally tidy and ready to use. I do find that depending on the time of day there are some folks who forget the "please don't drop your weights and scare the jittery among us" rule, and clang their weights pretty hard on the ground. That said, the management have responded well to this kind of problem and promised to remind repeat-offenders to control their dumbells lest they bounce on someone's toes and cause a more serious injury than a simple pulled hamstring. The rates are really reasonable, and they've been good lately at updating their class schedule too. ETA: Within hours of writing my review I went to get some exercise and found new cardio machines all set up! Well done, guys :)

A very decent number of cardio stations on the ground floor and plenty of strength machines, benches and weights on the upper level. They have two sets of machines for basic, beginner strength training, one on each deck. I tend to go early, around 0900 and while it can get quite busy, you can usually get to everything you want if you're prepared to vary your routine. Maintenance and repair are a bit of an issue, but I guess they are at the mercy of the manufacturers/suppliers. There used to be a lot of young mothers in the forenoon, with a supervised creche available, but the lockdowns and other restrictions seem to have killed that off. Not even sure if the creche is still running.

Yes he was tired and cranky towards the very end of my workout and I was trying to get him to calm down and come with me just as his Mother showed up to take him.. Due to the fact he was crying and according to the owners he was loud and excruciating to other people working out and she wanted him removed from the floor.. The owner's approach to my daughter and attack of words with respect to her son, my grandson were very unprofessional and words were exchanged in the heat of moment.. Unfortunately, long story short, 30 minute hit Bedford, terminated my membership.. Thoughts????? Here's my letter to them; To say that I am disappointed upon receiving the letter from you terminating my gym membership at 30 Minute Hit would be an understatement. A couple of points I would like to make regarding your letter and the incident. The child's area of the gym was designed and approved by you, not me. I assume it was designed so that mothers of young children - likely your target market - could still pay their membership dues and attend your gym even without finding a babysitter. The location of this child's area is not ideal - but again, that was a decision you made in the design of your business, not me. The child in question is just that, a barely five year old boy. As a mother of two, and grandmother to him, I can attest that kids have meltdowns at the most inappropriate time. Usually, mothers, grandmothers and regular adults look the other way and give both the child and the mother or caregiver time to calm them down. Obviously Rachel that was not your understanding of how children can behave. My face still burns over your comment about his screeching being EXCRUCIATING. That is my grandchild you were talking about, and your comments were hurtful and not very understanding about that situation. What transpired between you and my daughter, aka my "guest" as she was trying to get to him to calm him down - that should not have happened. I will not make excuses for my daughter's behaviour except to say that Rachel's was not much better. Parents feel frazzled when they are trying to get their children under control and being frazzled and then accused of not trying to control the situation was like pouring gasoline on a pile of embers. I understand what it is like to deal with clients and not be in a happy place. But that is the business you are in - and I feel like I am paying the price for two people's bad behaviour - Rachel's and my daughter. As a paying client, I would have expected you to speak to me about the incident, and maybe make a recommendation about further interactions, but not to terminate my membership in the gym which is just penalizing me.

It's what happens when you lose a lot of weight and actually come to realize you like doing crazy things like run marathons, complete triathlons and lift heavy stuff. As a newer member to CGC I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the set up. The cost is reasonable too at about $50/month for a year membership. I haven't taken any classes so I can't vouch for that portion of the gym but I do hang out upstairs in the cardio room quite a bit and so far so good. They tell me it's not too busy during the morning/day. As of yet I've never had to wait for a treadmill. When it is feeling a little "packed" I'll go run laps on the indoor track. It's a great way to get in some nice cross training in between some push ups or perfecting the pull-up. My favorite part about CGC is the pool(s). Olympic standard size and as of yet never too busy to not get a lane. Instead of chloride as standard chemical cleaner they use bromide (much gentler on the skin). Locker rooms (both wet and dry options) are spacious. Lockers themselves are big for that over stuffed gym bag. Showers are kind of funky but once you get the hang of them they're not too bad. And while I don't frequent Subway, it's very convenient to be able to grab a little nosh on the way out.
