My fiancé bought me a gift from the website "citydeal.fr" in an attempt to give me a treat. He isn't a fan of sushi, because he is 100% a French person, so it was mostly for me. The deal itself stated the following: "1 bon toutes les deux personnes" which literally means only one coupon is valid for two people. This was no problem because he planned to just share my menu and leave most the sushi for me. The food was WAY over priced for the quality and quantity. 22 € was the menu I ordered and it came with 7 total different pieces of small sushi, the fish was definitely frozen and flavorless. The 'brochettes' were child-size and the meat was overcooked and chewy. The rice was not Japanese style, but the sticky Chinese style. The only saving factor was some little mixed salad, but even that was just bean sprouts with some vinegar. In the end we had to deal with a host that had NO manners whatsoever, one that argued with us about sharing our menu instead of buying two (because fiancé doesn't like sushi) and finally at the end where he held our change at the end and waved it in our face while lecturing us about our "bizarre eating habits" and how we aren't "normal". Save your money and go somewhere else. WAY not worth it. Even without a coupon this place is a scam and there is better sushi quality around the city.

My fiancé and I came here to enjoy some sushi together, thing is, he's not much of a sushi fan so the plan was to use this coupon we bought and split a menu between us. The coupon was good for two people so we had no problem, but the owner/waiter decided to ruin our entire lunch and argue with us like we were his dogs or children. My favorite quotes from this establishment's owner was, "Jamais avais-je vois ça" or "Si vous voulez manger encore avec le coupon, manger normale" and the best, "Vous mangez pas normale." How many time can we be told we are abnormal and strange simply because we decided to split a menu? We're not stupid, it was a ploy to try and convince us to spend even more money; but in the end we are glad we didn't, to bad too because if the food was any good at least it wouldn't feel like a complete waste of our time. Here's the food rundown: 8 € as listed above is for tiny brochettes of meat, some rice, salad and a crappy miso soup. Probably will fill a small child. 22 € menu is what we ordered and it was basically 3 tiny rolls of salmon nigiri, 3 small sushi maki and 3 cuts of sashimi (w/out the typcial sashimi sauce). I am a gourmande and can tell you easily the fish was frozen not fresh. The brochettes were about 12cm long and came with about 5 brochettes. The meat was chewy, overcooked and sweet (like it was dipped in sugar). The rice was not Japanese rice (short grain, slight bite) but a Chinese sticky rice. The salad was doused in sesame seed oil and vinegar. If you want good sushi, go somewhere else. This has to be one of the worst: customer service experiences AND "sushi" places I have ever been to. It is sort of a cafeteria concept, with a nicer dining area upstairs. They did not have tons of variety of fish, but the salmon and tuna were both fresh and tasty, service was good and fast, and made for a delicious first meal of the excursion. One more way that France has taken a page out of our American playbook is the added convenience of having your sushi delivered. I saw as much food being delivered to hungry Lyonnaise as I did served in the restaurant.

But when I arrived there, I was a little disappointed to see that Sushi was not made to order, rather it was premade Sushi sitting in the refridgerated boxes, where you pay first and then sit down with the boxes and eat it at the tables. That being said, the sushi was quite OK to eat, and I have no complaints about the taste of the sushi except maybe the rice was a little bit cold. Sushi Shop would probably be an excellent choice to order delivery, but not for a serious sushi craving or a date.
