Yep, a Scottish theme…read more Living in Lille as a poor English Assistant, this place served me cheap pints, and worked its way into many fond memories of that year. It's usually less crowded than its Irish pub neighbor a couple doors down, which is how my friends and I found it originally (we were looking for a low-key drink on a random weeknight). It's centrally located to many other bars and clubs in Lille, so it's great for a stop on a busy many-stop bar crawl, or just for a little change of pace before (or after) a stop at the club.

No one in the whole bar was Scottish or even British. They barely even spoke English. The decor, music, drinks and everything was far from Scottish. The 'O'Scotland' beer, their own beer, was more like a darkish brown Belgium draft beer. And it wasn't even good. In other words, far from Scottish, just using the name and that's it. Even if it's shared with an another bar next to it (so you have to watch at which table you sit!), it's clearly a nice place for an afterwork drink. The rest of the time, the atmosphere is too loud inside, especially when there's a football game displayed and you can't be sit enjoying a drink between friends and colleagues without having people shouting next to you, which is the last thing you'll consider after a work day! So, definitely consider it during warm days and avoid it the rest of the time.

Basically it is a bar, so no food here, but a decent selection of beers on tap, including some Belgium beers (but since Lille is just over the border I'm not surprised that there are Belgium beers here). Oh, and the bartender was pretty awesome as well, and she even remembered my order when I returned a little later. I probably should also mentioned that they were playing some pretty awesome classic rock tunes as well. Definitely worth a visit, and a couple of beers as well.
