Dr. Lindsay caring for my latest foster, Graham.
    Parmela P.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nick Lindsay's for over 10 years. I met him when he was working for a vet clinic in Troy, MO and I had a farm there. He initially was my horse vet and did a wonderful job with both our minis and our riding horses. At the time, I had a different vet for my dogs. See, I'm that crazy lady that rescues every stray I see. I've probably fostered over 50 dogs (and some cats and some horses) to date. One day an emergency arose and I needed a dog vet in close proximity. Dr. Lindsay was so kind and patient. I knew immediately I was going to move all of my business to him. After I learned of Dr. Lindsay starting his own small animal clinic, I decided to follow him even though it meant a much longer drive for me (about 40 minutes each way). It was worth it to have his experience with my animals and also because of the quality of care he and his staff provide. My only complaint was he was no longer doing horses. Bummer! Shortly thereafter I moved to Jefferson County - two counties away! But because of the extraordinary care (and folks, I'm not exaggerating) I decided I'd make the 110 minute drive, each way, to still see him. Dr. Lindsay has cared for my precious pets, and my many fosters since. He saved the life of my dear Carmelita when she needed emergency surgery and was at death's door. Post surgery, he informed me he'd never seen a live dog with organs in as poor a shape as hers (she'd been a puppy mill dog) but she was one tough cookie. She lived six more happy years after that day. She was approximately 16 years old when she passed and he took wonderful care of her. He also cared for my precious Oscar, who had SO many health issues. A ruptured eye, blindness, terrible knees, and congestive heart failure. Dr. Lindsay was compassionate, supportive and always had kind word and cuddle for my babies that were in such delicate health. So, to this day, more than six years after I moved two counties away, I still make that drive. I have another vet now for my horses, barn cats and chickens, but Dr. Lindsay will continue to be my dog vet. His professionalism is second to none, he so obviously cares for his patients and about the feelings of their owners, and he has a full service hospital with access to specialist as needed. He has never guided me in the wrong direction, he has always been honest with me about the prognoses, and he has always been fair with me about the charges. What vet, these days, still does their own after-hours emergency services, answers a frantic text on Christmas Day and meets you in the middle of the night because your precious pet needs to be seen? I am dreading the day, if it ever comes, when he no longer provides emergency services, because going to see one of those rotational students at the so-called emergency clinics is not for me! Lastly, Dr. Lindsay's clinic staff is always professional, friendly, informative and caring. The building is spotless and the equipment is up to date. I will never be able to thank him enough for the kindness and care he has provided. There aren't enough words. Thank you, Dr. Lindsay!

Their employees don't wear masks. The exam rooms are tiny, so you can't socially distance from their maskless employees.

Twenty minutes later person came in to weigh our dog and never said hello to us or the dog... just put her on scale. gave her weight and left. not another word. Rude as hell so my wife is having a what is going on moment. Didn't say vet is running behind or anything... vet never came in. We had been here about 2 years before and got a call middle of her teeth cleaning and a few removal and they called while she was on the table sedated and said she had a tumor. didn't notice until they turned her over. I asked about them checking her before surgery as she was acting sore and moved positions a lot. not her normal self. They didn't check her but took her to surgery. called us 1/2 way through and said she had a huge tumor we could bring her home to die or euthanize. charged for teeth cleaning and euthanasia. So why did we go back? . honestly I'm not sure but because my mych older dog with very few teeth needs the heart worm shot and they are 1 of few vwts who offer it which is easier on her and should a vacation.... right? well needless to say they weren't touching this dog today....got up and left. when have you ever gone to vet front desk rude... then no one says hello when they enter the room but even worse... doesn't even say anything to the dog. just scoops her like a bag of trash and weighed her. We had been sitting in the room for 20 minutes prior to this. I went out to waiting room and started to say we were leaving but the vet and assistant were all standing in hall so we told them why we were leaving..fortunately we have choices and we don't have to go back. I was so upset with experience and probably the emotions of loosing 1 dog there ....but i wasn't going to pay someone to be treated like a piece of shit. ive had so many animals and wonderful vets. never been treated like this ever.

Took him into Animal Emergency Clinic in O'Fallon and they were quick to help me get my 70lb boy on a stretcher and off to be examined by the vet. They were busy and had several very acute cases. They professionally juggled sick and injured pets while comforting emotional parents. I was there several hours, but that is to be expected. The wait was actually very comfortable, there were vending machines for drinks and food as well as clean restroom facilities. The vet kept me regularly updated. My boy needed blood work and imaging, all available there. He was sent home with the medication he needed and a solid plan of care until he could be seen by his regular vet. The services were reasonably priced considering it's emergency care. I feel like they were fiscally cautious when choosing the diagnostics for my pet. If you feel you could wait until business hours you'll obviously spend less at your regular vet, but unfortunately accidents and unexpected illnesses happen and I'm grateful we have great emergency care close to home. The vet we saw was outstanding in his recommendations and I have confidence in the care received. Turns out my old man has a bad back, thankfully he's doing well. We will definitely use this Emergency Clinic again if needed.
