Very Happy - First Time away from Mini Cooper dealer for service. This is the first time that I have strayed from the dealer for service. the last time they lured me to the Mini / BMW service center in Freeport on a minor recall they told me I needed brakes and quoted me a number. It seemed like way too much for front brakes. I went to NY Bimmers on a referral. Met Adrian and was so happy I did. He did a quick inspection before I left and told me I did indeed need front brakes. his pricing was great and he did a couple of little extras ( replaced a fog light bulb and replaced a medallion) at no charge. I'm mystified at the reviews. Maybe it was me, I don't know for sure, but this guy Adrian was not very responsive to me. (In fact, it seemed like he didn't want to deal with a woman at all.) He finally did my brakes and it was very expensive. Fine, if the job is done right. Later on I needed more work and it took many calls to get in touch with him. When he finally did respond, he was very discouraging. Seemed like he didn't need the business. Probably better off because when I went back to the dealer for an inspection, the car wouldn't pass because Adrian used the wrong size brake pads! read more

It took me awhile to leave this review because even today I am baffled by Adrian's attitude towards me especially since he'd actually worked on my x5 2 times prior to the last time we spoke . Unfortunately it had always been very hard to get a hold of him which I understand because he's very busy . In the past I'd had a few issues getting ahold of him even after leaving multiple messages and even emailing him. I even had to have my fiancé call him which strangely when he'd called , Adrian had immediately answered . If I hadn't known better I'd thought Adrian was avoiding me. I'd only ever been polite and courteous in dealings with him so I couldn't figure out why . Nevertheless my older x5 started having a few issues . Being that I'm a female that lives 25 minutes away & my fiancé's availability being an issue I would try calling Adrian only to be told he was too busy that week and to try next week. At one point I'd been unable to drive my vehicle for practically a month when I tried to schedule with Adrian to no avail . I was forced to take it to another shop where they botched up other things. The last time I tried taking my truck to Adrian I was quoted a fairly high price for the repair (over 1k) and since I'd already been pouring money into repairs I was forced to take it elsewhere where it was cheaper .I am currently disabled so money isn't exactly abundant . Before anyone assumes otherwise I don't expect Adrian to lower his prices for me but I do expect someone to attempt to understand . Perhaps if you'd picked up your phone and I'd been able to bring my vehicle to you I wouldn't have had all these additional repairs caused by other mechanic's mistakes . But to talk to me like I was crap and tell me to "take it back to whoever had done the repairs previously " and how you didn't have time to look at it as you're too busy to deal with other's mistakes even though I'd explained the situation was just rude and callous . Avoid this place and the RUDE owner at all cost, the owner is a completely rude and unprofessional. Took my car for throttle actuator job and gave me the run around about not having time and to call him the week after and when i did he became belligerent in the phone and hung up. I should've known not to take my m3 to this amateur when after running a diagnostic he had no idea how many actuators m3 s have. Adrian knows his Bimmers. He is a Bmw certified master tech and is extremely knowledgeable. I had an issue with my power steering on my 2004 m3, I had the pump and hose replaced somewhere else only to find that the problem reoccurred two weeks later. Other shops told me to replace the steering rack ($1000+) but Adrian simply told me that it was because the reservoir was not replaced, the metal particles from there re entered the system. After another pump replacement, re-bleed and new reservoir, no more whining noises. Fellow Bmw fanatics, don't waste your money elsewhere for NY Bimmers to fix other shop's mistakes. Well, couple weeks ago my car, once again, needed few things fixed. If we extrapolate human years to car years, my car and I are of almost the same age! LoL. That being said, I went to see Adrian, as I normally do. I was expecting extensive repairs with comparable bill. I was happily surprised that the repairs were few and the bill was small. I took my car in on 1-19-15 for engine problem and he fixed it on the same day and recommended other necessary maintenance with very reasonable price (which is way better than going to the BMW dealership).
