Jason came to our home for Infant CPR and choking response training. We really can't say enough good things about our experience. His descriptions of the different scenarios we could face and how to respond were very helpful. Jason took his time going through everything to make sure we understood before moving on to the next topic. Never did we feel like he was rushing us through things. After all this, Jason even went through the different features of our car seat with us, some we didn't even know existed! Not to mention, our dog was present for the lesson and was visibly anxious around the infant dolls we were using for CPR and choking training. Jason never let it get to him, and was actually really helpful in getting our furry one to stay calm during the session. I've been meaning to write this review for almost a year now, but being a new parent I got sidetracked. My wife and I are grateful that we've never had to use the skills that Jason taught us, but we feel safer and more confident having learned them. Jason came to our home, he confidently and gently explained to us what we will need to do if our baby ever chokes on something or stops breathing suddenly. Sage advice for every parent. He passed on those skills, without any of the fear or paranoia that normally accompanies discussion of such terrible things; things no parent wants to think about but needs to. Jason originally taught a CPR training course for our church two years ago (which I'd already rated with 5 stars!) and he just came back to teach another one. The class was a mixture of people getting re-certified and others getting certified for the first time. As it was the last time, the class was great. It was very informative and Jason's teaching style is engaging, practical, and personable. He had updated his materials from the last time we took the class, and you can tell he is constantly looking for ways to improve his class and keep it up-to-date. Getting ready for a first baby is a daunting task. At the top of our checklist was having our family take a CPR class together so we could rest assured that anyone we left the baby with would be prepared in case of an emergency. Thank goodness we found Jason! Not only was he super responsive and easy to work with, he put our group at ease and taught us infant and toddler CPR in the privacy and comfort of our own home. I cannot emphasize how valuable I think it is that he came to our home, answered all our questions (no matter how small or dumb), and gave us his undivided attention. We were able to learn so much more efficiently and effectively because of this. Jason's demonstrations were easy to follow and very hands on - I feel like we all left the class with a lot of knowledge and reassurance that we'd know what to do in case of several emergency scenarios. The topic of infant CPR is nerve wracking and intimidated but Jason is reassuring and provides ample resources to make his clients feel comfortable after the training. We had seven friends over for an infant/child CPR/AED and first aid training "house party" and hired Jason to be our instructor. He was fantastic! Before the class his communications were prompt, clear, and friendly. He showed up on time and was very prepared with practice dummies in good condition, wallet cards with useful info, and certificates for everyone in the class. His demonstrations and explanations were very clear and he gave great helpful comments on technique as we practiced. He used a lot of positive anecdotes about lifesaving to inspire us. When we had questions he listened attentively and had helpful, thoughtful, informed answers at the ready. At the end of the class, several people asked me, "Where did you find this guy? I have taken several CPR courses in the past (I need to renew every 2 years for my personal training certification) and I can strongly say that taking with Jason has been the best experience of all. The private class certification was extremely time efficient because I was able to learn at my pace, not the pace of several other people. I have a 6-mo old son who is starting to eat solids, and we had hired Jason to teach infant CPR and Heimlich maneuver to 5 adults, including our nanny. Jason was a competent and knowledgeable teacher. He was easy to communicate and book with, and arrived at our home on time with infant mannequins (as well as an adult one for comparison). Jason also used the time efficiently - within 5 minutes of him entering, we were all practicing chest compressions.
