I'd stand my ground and not let her rush me out, she'd become unresponsive and play dumb like she didn't know how to answer my questions. She didn't pay me any attention or have any relevant insider knowledge. I found the answers for most of the issues I went to her for on Youtube for FREE. Save your money, she's not the best of Long Island, she voted herself there. Why doesn't she have more reviews on yelp if she's so popular? EDIT: I see that another review, curiously a user with only one single review, said that I am a 'competitor' and that I made this review up. I assure you, I am a real person, and everything about my review is 100% first-hand experience with Michelle Blum of Nutrish Mish, hence why Yelp's algorithm did not filter out this review, as it did to her OTHER FIVE STAR REVIEW. I am honestly shocked that Michelle Blum is still in business after the kind of rude and disrespectful treatment I received from her. If I am a competitor, please name me. I would love to see you try, as there as so many 'nutritionistas' on Long Island fighting for customers. What a load of garbage!

The office staff at Dr. Arif Ahmad's Port Jefferson location is completely incompetent and…read moreunprofessional. My first issue involved the billing department, which sent me to collections without ever notifying me about outstanding insurance checks that were supposed to be forwarded to their office. I received no bills in the mail, no notice during any of my visits, and wasn't made aware of the outstanding balance until I got a collection notice months later. Only then did I learn about the checks and the balance--from the collection agency, not the doctor's office. To make matters worse, the collection agency informed me that I would be responsible for collection fees, even though the fault clearly lay with the doctor's staff. When I contacted the billing department directly, the representative I spoke with was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive. Thankfully, after escalating the matter, the billing manager acknowledged that the mistake was on their end and arranged for the checks to be sent directly to the collection agency, resolving the issue. The second issue occurred today. I arrived for a scheduled follow-up appointment at the Port Jeff Station office, only to be told--after sitting for 10-15 minutes--that they had no record of my appointment. Instead, I was told I had been scheduled for a nutritionist appointment today (which I never made), another appointment tomorrow, and yet another for Friday at their Huntington office--all of which I never booked. I was then told they could not see me today because they were "triple booked," per the front desk staff and her supervisor. This level of disorganization and lack of communication is unacceptable in any medical practice. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, professionalism, and basic competence--none of which I experienced at this office.

I started seeing her in the beginning of November and since that time I've lost close to 20 lbs. It's hard work but very worth it! She wants me to eat healthy foods every 2 to 3 hours so my blood sugar stays regulated and I don't start grabbing crappy food just because I'm starving. With her plan I don't feel like I'm starving, I'm eating a few snacks throughout the day and 3 meals. I'm eating a lot and still losing weight because it's all healthy! So far I've recommended her to two different people! If you're looking for a nutritionist Danielle is tops in my opinion!
