Racial Profiling - plain clothed security…read more Went in to the 10th avenue store to look for supplements to help with my joint pain. Went to the supplement area looking for help, no one was there for ~5 minutes so I walked around till a staff member appeared and I asked for help. During that time, a plain clothed security follow me and watched me as I looked for products. Even when I was talking to a staff member, he followed us around and stared at me. After I decided on the product, I mentioned to the staff that it was very rude what the plain clothed security did to me. She said she noticed it as well and apologized. I went to the till to pay and to no surpise, the security guard was still staring at me. I them waved to him and paid. I called to complain to the main help line, told them my issue and said they would get back to me. It has been over two weeks. Probably didnt get back to me as they never asked for my contact information This is a classic case of racial profiling. No response from Community Natural Foods. Want to help a local business but not after this incident .

Absolutely shocking disgusting place that harrassed customers and lies to get them banned. We were…read moreloyal shoppers for 15+ years without incident but staff at Crowfoot location were inexplicably hostile to my mom for no reason, accusing her of stealing without proof, addressing her in a too personal way, getting too close and in her face during Covid and most recently, when she was in a hurry and late for an appointment, they refuse to help her find a supplement and just ignored or avoided her. Understandably she was upset at the horrible lack of customer service she received. Rather than apologize, they shot her down then banned her the next day. We continued shopping at the downtown branch and occasionally I would pick up emergency items from the closer Crowfoot location. One day I rushed in in a hurry to pick something up, well aware they were closing soon. The supervisor called after me, telling me they're closing soon. I continued walking, well aware they were closing soon. She said 'Did you hear me?' I paused and said quite civilly, 'Yes.' the next thing I knew, I was banned. Presumably for that! Then to add insult to injury, when we went to the downtown branch we were told we are both banned there now too! This after 15 years of no incidences and being loyal customers, this is how they treat us. I called customer 'care' thinking it was a sick mistake and they said they would forward my concern to the appropriate person but no one ever got back to me. I then emailed them, no response. I have since told all my friends and colleagues of this hateful disgusting mistreatment. They were all shocked and won't shop there either. I work in customer service and we would never ever treat anyone so horribly without provocation. Im so disgusted and offended by their appalling hateful discriminatory behaviour.

I put my overpriced cashews back on the shelf and explained that not washing hands and using the wash room was not a good policy. The prices are much higher than Savon's organic section so I will save money and support human rights and dignity. I am reaching out to Annette Bronsch, Manager and will update this if this discriminatory policy is changed.

I have a love-hate relationship with this store. They are like what Whole Foods used to be like…read morebefore they were a giant chain. I've been a resident, weekender and seasonal Canmore person so I've always been glad they are there. I think I switched when Marra's closed? The good: Nutters has almost everything you could want in the both the organic & restrictive diet realm (and over the years, I've gone from Vegan to Paleo and crosses in between). The bad: They don't get enough traffic for me to trust their bulk items anymore. I've had more moldy bulk items over the years than I care to think about. I guess they are expensive too but it seemed worth it just to have them there. I've always tried to shop here to show my support for their business but after today, I give up. I always seem to have to go to the bathroom and they will never let me. When I was pregnant, I almost didn't make it and abandoned my stuff. FFWD 4 years to today; I had to leave my cart and take my 4 year old to the courthouse to use the toilet. I came back bc I couldn't bear starting again, but I'm not doing it anymore. I will use Safeway, farmers market and on-line. It is just too inconvenient to shop for a family there when you have to travel and drag your kids around for the toilet. I just have way less time and patience now that I'm a mom.

I asked about a particular brand, sisu, for my vitamin D, they only had kids and he apologized. So I browsed around the store. They have a good variety of brands, carrying some of the best in my opinion. There was a selection of hypnosis Cd's as well as music to relax to. There was also a selection of books, mainly on herbs, others inspirational. There were a few display cases of jewellery and one of amore makeup. They carry quite a selection of stones and crystals. The man thanked me for coming in and said goodbye. They are also a clinic that does iridology, traditional Chinese medicine, herbology, homeopathy, as well as other alternative treatments. I was pleased with the friendly service at Nurture, I got the feeling that they are very knowledgeable here and willing to help. It might be a good place to check out for any "natural healing".
