BEWARE: Rude, Dishonest, and Completely Unprofessional…read more I normally don't write reviews, but my experience with Gental Dental in Lyndhurst, NJ was so outrageous that I feel obligated to warn others. Back in early 2024, I went in for a consultation, and the dentist recommended a crown for my implant. He took measurements, and we scheduled a follow-up appointment. However, the very next day, I changed my mind, called the office, cancelled the appointment, and specifically told them not to send anything to the lab. The staff confirmed the cancellation over the phone. Still unsure, I proactively contacted my insurance provider to explain what happened and asked them to cancel any pending authorizations for Gental Dental -- except for that single initial visit. Fast forward over a year later, and I receive a letter from a collections agency for $1,800+ claiming I owe Gental Dental for a crown that I never received. When I called the clinic to dispute it, they falsely claimed the crown was done and I never called to cancel, even though I never set foot in that office again after the first visit. They said they would "check with the doctor and call me back" -- of course, no one ever did. Today, when I followed up for the third time, the front desk staff was shockingly rude, dismissive, and condescending. They repeatedly spoke over me, refused to listen, and ultimately told me to "deal with the collections agency" . No apology, no accountability, and zero professionalism. Not only is the office outdated and the staff consistently rude, but what they're doing is flat-out dishonest. They tried to bill my insurance for a procedure that was never done, and when the claim was denied (as it should've been), they turned around and sent me to collections -- hoping I wouldn't fight it. It's appalling that a dental practice -- especially one run by a doctor who's supposedly close to retirement -- would stoop to this level of greed and deception. This is not just bad service, it's unethical and predatory behavior. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

He is very friendly, welcoming, and explains every step to you to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible. Every so often he would check to make sure I was okay, and I appreciated that. The whole staff made me feel very comfortable and welcome. The ladies at the front desk were kind as well. They all greeted me with a smile, and the one receptionist Christina was extremely patient and kind in going over my treatment plan with me and helping me out. We were asked to sit down and without any explanation, a hygienist started to rubbing things on my baby's gum totally ignoring that he was crying. Dr. Blech came in, without a word of asking for my baby's dental history, without checking anything at all, she began prying his mouth open and scraping a sharp needle against his teeth and instantly bleeding. There was no care taken to stop the bleeding nor explaining what she was doing. The whole process lasted less than a minute and she left the room. I had to ask the staff to speak to her again because It is my baby's first dental appointment and I have many questions. Dr. Blech finally met us in the hallway to answer these questions. Let me repeat, she spoke to a patient's parents in the hallway. The whole experience was rushed and confused, we felt no respect at all. Neither the hygienist or Dr. Blech gave any responses to a my baby's shrieking cry. I'm in shock that they would treat a baby like this. There are other kids shrieking in the waiting room. I am in serious regret that I took my innocent baby here. The tools they used looked old with chips and fog on the metal. I was unable to tell if they were clean. The room was dusty, adjacent to a deserted room where drawers half open, dirty floor, used cotton or tissue paper stuck on the dental chair, other patients waiting next to us so no privacy at all. Reply to your response below- No you did not spent 20min explaining things to me. The entire visit from walking to walking out of your office was 27min, including waiting time, cleaning and talking to you. We spoke probably 5min and your "explanation" was answering my questions. If I didn't ask my questions you would not have explained anything to me.

The hygienist definitely had her work cut out for her after so many years, but she was gentle and never made me feel judged. About halfway through my cleaning, I unexpectedly had an anxiety attack and started crying. I have a longstanding fear of the dentist because of an experience I had as a child, and it all just hit me at once. I was so embarrassed. The way the staff responded is the reason I'm writing this review. They immediately stopped what they were doing, checked on me, brought me water, and gave me all the time I needed to calm down. Several of the women came in to make sure I was okay, and one of them even offered to turn on the TV to help distract me. Every single person treated me with so much kindness, patience, and compassion. Not once did I feel rushed or judged. If you've been putting off going to the dentist because of anxiety or fear, I genuinely recommend this office. They made what could have been a terrible experience feel safe and supportive, and I'm actually not dreading my next appointment. Thank you to everyone there for treating me with such genuine care. My pediatric dentist was absolutely horrible, leaving me TERRIFIED to get something as simple as a cleaning done. I explained my past experience and fears to Dr. Khodosh, and he handled it like a pro. The entire staff was so warm and comforting, assuring me that I was in good hands. Dr. Khodosh himself was very gentle and explained everything that he was going to do before it did it, along with what I would feel and what to expect so that there were no surprises. I'd never felt so safe in the dentist's chair, so I'm so grateful for Dr. Khodosh and his team. A few years ago, we had to do a root canal on a tooth that was giving me pain. I was so comfortable during the procedure that I fell asleep. I was so astonished, I called my mom lol. Gone are the days of tearful dental visits. They are not lying one bit when they say "gentle dental" -- 100% accurate.
