We could not recommend them more!

At that time when she started, she was 4.5 months old. I was scared at first due to COVID, but quickly noticed that they were taking great precautions. I felt safe knowing she was in good hands. Since January, I am truly impressed with the outstanding care she is receiving from Miss Lorie and Miss Angela. The teachers keep me up to date with how she is doing developmentally all the time. I introduced the sippy cup recently, and the teachers were very happy to continue to help her practice using it while at school. They figured out a nap and feeding schedule that I can adhere to on the weekends. Everyone has been very responsive to my questions, and get back to me in a timely manner. My daughter comes home clean every day. I am very impressed that everyone knows my husband and I by name. I see how everyone interacts with my daughter and it warms my heart. I feel comfortable leaving her here knowing she is going to be well cared for. Not to mention, they still do a lot of activities with families after school despite COVID. Right near Valentines's Day, they had a Sweetheart Dance that we attended on Zoom. It was so nice to see families dancing, singing, and listening to stories. I am so happy to have chosen this school for my little one. They have become my second family. If you are considering sending your little one to daycare, please consider this school. I am thankful I did :)

The owners, director, nurse and teachers are all kind and professional. The entire staff are attentive and friendly toward the children and each other (the best example for children.) Any and all concerns are addressed immediately. The building is spectacular and has a warm, inviting feeling. As we arrived each day, I would hear from the back seat: "there's my school!" Our little guy learned to work/play with friends, how to line up for outdoor time, bathroom/ hand-washing and how to listen quietly during story time, etc. Teachers constantly encourage kindness and the use of good manners. They also provided countless learning activities daily. We will forever treasure this wonderful experience. Thank you to our ACU friends!

Both of my children attend The Children's Workshop in Smithfield. My oldest has attended since she…read morewas a year old and my youngest has attended since he was three months old. I genuinely like all of the teachers at the school, including the Director Miss Kristin and assistant director Mr. Brent. I'm going to focus this review on the infant teachers because, as mom, I find myself most worrying about my baby. Since my daughter had already been in many of the classrooms when my son started, I was VERY confident that I was leaving my new baby in great hands when I had to return to work. The head teacher Miss Laura was the same head teacher than my daughter had so I was familiar and very comfortable with her. My son had colic during his first few months and a milk protein sensitivity. When I explained all of this to Miss Laura she listened carefully and that gave me reassurance that my son would be properly cared for. After about a week, one of the other infant teachers Miss Brianna, showed me a new way to hold my son that helped calm him down when he was colicky and in pain. My husband and I will forever refer to this as the "Brianna hold". All three teachers (Miss Laura, Miss Kailey, and Miss Brianna) show a personal connection with my son and my older daughter even though she isn't in their class. We have been working on teaching my son to crawl lately. By "we" I mean me, my husband, my daughter (she's a great big sister helper!), and all three teachers. Earlier this week, I saw a video that they took for me of my son Army crawling!! One of the special parts about this video, which they may not have even realized, was how involved and excited all three teachers were! One was holding the camera, one was on the ground and encouraging my son to reach and crawl for a toy, the other teacher was on the sidelines with another baby and cheering on my son. All three were giving him the encouragement he needed to work on this new skill! The Children's Workshop isn't just a day care. Even at this early age, TCW is an educational institution working with our children to help them grow to age appropriate milestones! We even get reports home each month explaining which milestones my son reached and what he goals are for the next month: holding his own bottle, feeding himself food, learning how to use utensils or a sippy cup, crawling, walking, waving, etc. These teachers aren't just "teachers". They are friends and caring adults who I trust completely to help my son grow mentally, physically, and emotionally!

We feel fortunate to have a place to bring our kids where they are safe and have fun. Teachers come and go, which can be frustrating, but it is somewhat expected in this industry, and we have always felt that the various teachers truly cared about our children. There was a period of high turnover where the director and assistant director left that we considered going elsewhere, but by the time we could get in anywhere, things settled down and the school got a new director. Since Jason has been at the helm, the school has never looked better and we have seen lots of improvements. We feel confident about the school under his leadership. The only other drawback about this school is the co$$$t, but it sure is nice not to have to pack a lunch or snacks which are included. I am always impressed with the arts and crafts done in the toddler rooms and also appreciate how often the children get out in the fresh air when possible. I have hundreds of adorable pics I have gotten in daily updates through the years but there were very few I could share while being mindful of privacy.

It was a great experience for us - the staff was kind, professional and my son just loved them all. I really did appreciate the camera system they have in place, so that I could check on him from home during the first few days - no need to wonder if he was having a good day. The school also always had a number of fun, seasonal activities lined up for the kids and I loved getting the most adorable little keepsakes to bring home. Please, stay away from this facility…read more My child has been here in Pre/Pre K class. Not long, though, because this facility does not care about your child. Not once do they wash their hands, even before meals. So, from the minute they walk in to when they get picked up, their hands do not get washed. Children use the bathroom on their own with no one watching, no one helping. There are 2 toilets in one bathroom, and boys and girls can use it together at the same time. They go out to play in the playground 4 times a day which is of course not right, since their ages range from 3-5. Circle time lasts bout 15 minutes once or twice a day and the rest, their playing by themselves with blocks or toys. You child can fall and be all dirty, but the "teachers" do not change their clothes. You would think, since they have a camera, they would be aware of the parents constantly checking up on their kids, but no, these teachers do not care. Sanitary is a big issue with most parents , but this place does not think so. I will be filing a report with the licensing department because it is absolutely gross to think that my child is being left at a place where they allow children to eat with hands that have not been washed after going to the bathroom or being out in the playground. We sent our previous child here so we can be convenient, but I have learned my lesson.

Here's why: 1: location - I'm a 5 min drive away from home/15 min walk and 10 min drive from work. It matters. A lot! Carrying 3+ bags everyday: purse, lunch, pump, diaper bag, big baby in carrier, you know sometimes I stop home first to drop it off before picking him up, and I still hate getting up early, and babies make you late to everything, so it's good to be close. (Little after the Thayer/Hope Split- parking is on the street, so not great, but always find a spot) 2: great staff: even as technical co-employees, I had never been to the site prior to needing childcare, I had just met the director. But being there as a mom, it doesn't matter if we work for the same org or not, I want a great, safe, caring place for my kid- which this place is at every turn. I've been a Y girl for 14+ years all around New England, so I knew there were good odds, that's what we do, but not everywhere is great honestly. However, the director and the infant staff are fantastic (I haven't met the toddler or preschool staff yet) 3. Cloth diapers: yes, I'm that girl with the cloth diapers and the glass bottles. All were welcome and not a problem. I know especially the cloth isn't welcome everywhere. Don't know why, I'm the one dealing with the poop at home.
