Do not go here. They are non-responsive and unapproachable. The class was supposed to be 2 weeks of instruction but the class missed days for a holiday and the very last day was taken off of the calendar a couple days before the class ended. If you do not pass the final skills exam and written exam on the first try, there is no recourse to take it again. I reached out 3-4 times to schedule a retest before I paid for ANOTHER program in the area. I highly recommend this program for CNA/NAC training. I passed both the written and skills portion of my state exam on the first try, and that is all the proof I need that the program is a good one. I needed my certification to apply for nursing school, and I found the W-F class schedule to be very doable with my regular employment. Hadra is extremely knowledgable, patient and detailed. One of the greatest advantages of training at this facility is the fact that is is also a state testing facility, so when you take your state exam, you are in a familiar environment. The facility that my group did our clinicals at was also excellent. I have heard horror stories from students in other programs, and I was really grateful to have had such a good experience. Additionally, Hadra performs each of the required skills that students need to learn, giving extra attention to frequently missed elements and identifying common mistakes. These videos were a huge factor in my overall success. The only downside I experienced was the second teacher. Terry can be entertaining while lecturing, but her teaching style seems to born of a "gotcha" mentality. She creates an environment of hostility which carried over from the classroom to the care facility. Among the students, it was well known that the days with Hadra would be beneficial and the days with Terry were to be endured at best. Terry is not enough to dissuade me from recommending the program, but I do think she would benefit from incorporating some of the patient, detailed teaching style that Hadra offers. Pro-tips: *You don't have to wear scrubs to class - only to clinicals *There is plentiful free parking, but park on the sides or in the back *Be punctual *If you don't want to pay the $13 for the homework workbook, you can do the homework on a separate piece of paper and return the workbook at the end of class *Adults wear briefs not diapers, and those who live at a long-term care facility are residents not patients read more

Hadra was exceptionally patient with my bouts of stage fright and coached me until she felt I was ready for the state exam which I passed on the first try. I must also give kudos to the examiner, Marti, as she made everyone so comfortable that we all passed that day. Teri was awesome and attentive during our skills week to the point that I seriously considered applying at that facility until I was called for an interview elsewhere and took the CNA position. I have attended this Nursing Assistant Training School way back in 2013 or so and have been extremely pleased with the curriculum and class flow. Hadra is an extremely great instructor and business owner. She has top-notch instruments and fairly accommodates students in terms of learning needs. She will gladly help you out and answer questions that you have and will stay to tutor for those who need extra assistance. I learned a lot from this class and appreciate the hard work that has been put through for students. The price is fair enough in terms of tuition. I especially had a great time with the one-week externship. Let me tell you, the class instruction is your very basic foundation. The part where you will learn a lot and actually learn is the externship - the time when you have real patients. Highly recommend! I was so happy to have found the NAT school for my training. I registered for the Sat/Sun program which is great for students who work or go to school Mon-Fri. Hadra and Terry are very thorough with their teaching and instruction from the textbook to the skills. They want you to succeed, so put in the hard work with studying and skills practice. I just finished the August-September 2012 morning class and I couldn't be more happy with everything I was taught. I think I am now truly prepared to enter into the nursing assistant field without hesitation. The instructor, Hadra, is the sweetest woman you could ever meet and is always there to answer your questions or give you guidance so you can successfully pass the state test for certification. I enjoyed every bit of the class and made some lasting friendships along the way. I plan on going back to practice skills for the state test, and I would also love to go back and volunteer where we did our clinicals as part of the class requirements. I got to meet some pretty amazing people in the assisted living home.I have a whole new respect for the nursing field after being a part of this experience. I did my research for the CNA classes, and decided on NATS. I registered online, an easy process. I paid 50.00 for registration and 550.00 for the class. I called the phone number provided to confirm that the instructor received my fee, and to confirm the date of the first day of class. While I did receive a receipt immediately after paying, there wasn't a confirmation email in regards to class schedule. My payment included CPR, HIV training and a text book. We were loaned the workbook that accompanies the text book, which you can purchase for 13.00 I think, if you don't want to give it back when class finalizes. Note that this payment does not cover the cost of the state licensure exam nor the cost for filing for your state license. Other supplies you will need are two sets of CEIL blue nurse scrubs (required), a gait belt(required), and I suggest your own stethoscope and blood pressure cuff to practice with. Found mine on amazon easily. I strongly recommend obtaining your TB test BEFORE attending class. The TB test is a process that takes a few days, once to get poked, and then a return trip to make sure you do not show signs of TB. It cost me 30.00 at my GP's clinic. Get a copy of your TB test! It's easy but it can be a time-management hassle. Otherwise you have two weeks to do it after first day of class. The first day of class is primarily filling out paperwork, and being informed on clinicals, class rules, and other generalities. While there may be substitute teachers from time to time, my instructor was primarily Hadra. She was an outstanding instructor in the following ways: she spoke in detail about what was important, and did not linger on things that were less important. She was firm but patient, and she instilled in her teachings a respect and dignity for patients and clients. She gave plenty of pointers for the whole duration of class on what the state exam proctors will be looking for during state exam. The workbook provided was pretty educational and fairly easy to understand. The weekly exams were easy to medium in difficulty. Do reread the book and your notes before the state exam. The classes included a mix of direct instruction, reading, note taking, homework checks, films, and hands-on skills. I can't express enough how important it is to maximize your time and practice during the skills trainings, to get very comfortable with the skills and performing them in front of strangers. I saw well-qualified students fail the skills part during the state exam due to being nervous and uncomfortable and forgetting. Hadra provides ample opportunity for skills practice. Take it, use it wisely--she doesn't hover, so it's up to you. Expect to be touching other humans in your class, and to be touched during skills practice. There was one week of clinicals at a real-live assisted living facility. The experience was a good one, and there is plenty of work to do, and a lot of people to spend time with. It is real work. You get proper breaks. And definitely bring your gait/transfer belt or you will get sh*t for it all week from some of the people in charge at the facility. Bring your own pens and stethoscope or you will be borrowing one of the random ones floating around. Ew. There is a final exam and a final skills exam given by Hadra that closely resembles the state licensure exam. If you fail Hadra's exam, you can retake it a few times for free. If you fail the state exam, you must pay again. Once you pass the CNA class, Hadra will send your info to the state. Then you get an email from the company that proctors the state exam, and you register online, and you pay. The website has a list of places you can take the exam. Most places have a waitlist. Don't expect it to necessarily be able to take the state exam at NATS, as there tends to be a big waiting list there. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with Hadra or the school, was another classmate. She made jokes during class, had a bad attitude, and was constantly disrespectful, argumentative, and immature. She was also highly disrespectful at the assisted living facility, laughing and rolling her eyes and pinching her nose at residents. Don't be that idiot, don't be that joking prankster who makes it crappy and awkward for other serious students, all of whom are adults, not junior high kids. I took my state exam and passed on the first try. I would say my experience at NATS was successful, and worth every dollar. read more

It was a tough decision trying to figure out where to take my CNA course. There were very unfavorable reviews for other programs and the community colleges cost twice as much and take a little longer to complete. I went with NATS for many reasons: -Hadra, the instructor, responded to my phone calls promptly and professionally. -She doesn't have a lot of reviews out there but the ones I did see were very positive. -The website is professional and not cheap looking. -The classroom is located in a business park in Tukwila. Very nice, very large, CLEAN facility, and professional. -There are two rooms to learn and practice skills, complete with beds, supplies, a mannequins. Hadra is very strict about tardiness, absences, and work and sticks to it. So if you think it would be easy to slack, you're wrong! I can't speak for other courses or instructors but Hadra is an RN which is very helpful and reassuring when being taught. She is professional, knowledgeable, and non-judgmental. The course itself was great. -There is lots of reading with open-book homework followed by in class review and pop-quiz and then an exam for each chapter in the handbook. She is thorough in reviewing the information. So if you do the work and pay attention, you will pass no problem. -The one good thing about her exams are that they are much more difficult than the state exam. Hands-on skills are introduced around the second week and Hadra encourages students to make use of the facilities to practice after class. My only criticism is that I would like to see more time devoted to learning and practicing the skills, especially more one on one with the instructor or at least with her overseeing everyone. This is the hardest part of the course for a lot of students and the state exam is very particular. I passed both my written and skills on the first try and am scheduled to take the state exam very soon. I feel confident that with the training I received I will be fine! read more

On the day of my state exam, the instructor offered for me to call her on my break between my written and skills exam.
