Traveling to Manila multiple times before, I've always made it a point to enjoy a day at a Korean…read moreSpa. Prior to Covid, Wensha Spa use to operate 24/7. I'm glad they survived lockdown, and it seems that they've made improvements with the decorations, lighting, and upgrades to the facility. What I use to do with my traveling group was spend 5 hours of 5 different treatments which would normally include a facial, body massage, foot massage, body scrub, mani/pedi and services includes a complimentary dinner buffet! You can also customize your treatment package. After much debate, I was initially too embarrassed to go all bare, a bit too exposing around my friends. Just give in. When in Rome. Plus everyone is doing it! The korean spa's full-body scrub exfoliation will also leave your skin glowing and incredibly soft. I will warn you that when you receive a body massage, you will get complete body stretching at the end, only to find yourself thrown completely up in the air using all your masseuses body strength! My only disappointment's and surprised that the water in the "Hot Tub" was filled with lukewarm water. Top that off with showers that also had lukewarm water as well. Although you're in a tropical climate country, it's a bit refreshing. some may appreciate it. But for most, you'd like to be in a jacuzzi instead. The funniest moment was that my other half's work colleague recognized him as we were in the dining hall! Such a small world!. Located in Pasay City just off of Roxas Blvd near World Trade Center. Very close to Makati and other popular hotels. Good place to visit this while visiting Manila.

My husband and I visited Wensha on a whim, desperately looking for a place to grab a massage (our…read morehotel spa was packed solid and we were unable to grab a taxi to mall of Asia due to atrocious traffic). Anywho, it worked out in our favor as our massage was AMAZING. It's definitely a no frills spot, and if you can remove any preconceived notions of the gritty facade and weathered interior, you'd be pleasantly surprised. What a gem. We opted for the one hour body massage and were both blown away by the depth of it. I don't know what style massage that was, but DAMN it was good. A mix in of some chiropractic for sure. I've paid far too much for other massages half the quality. So having never navigated this type of facility before (and limited Tagalog under our belt), the staff were very helpful and attentive to our needs. We also received a small sampling of massage oil as well!

I enjoyed my first massage so much the first time I went back the day before I left the…read morePhilippines. Naturally I asked for Anne since she did such an outstanding job the first time. I went ahead and asked for the same 2hr massage. One hour for my feet and legs and one hour for my body. Anne started with my feet first just like the last time I was there. While she was massaging my feet we were talking and I found out Anne is married with 3 children and her husband drives for Grab a competitor of Uber in the Philippines. I actually preferred Grab to Uber because they give you a set price so there are no surprises like Uber when they charge peak rates which at much higher during certain hours. I used Grab exclusively while I was in the Philippines, but anyway I digress. While I was talking to Anne she told me the the massage salon she works at gives her 10% of the fee they charge the customer. I'm like SAY WHAT? You make 10% of 550 pesos for doing a 2hr massage (both times she went above and beyond and spent over 2 1/2 hrs on my massage). So basically the salon charges me $550 pesos = $10.50 for a 2hr (2 1/2hr massage) and you make about $1.05 for a kick ass 2 1/2hr massage. She then told me she budgets herself to $100 pesos/day = $1.91/day. Anne is an awesome masseuse she gave me the best massage I've ever had and she gets $1.91 for 2 1/2hrs. That ain't right. I had to reward her for the outstanding job she did. I gave Anne a $500 = peso tip, approx $9.56 for an awesome job. My wife got a 1 hr massage right after me (also w/Anne) for 300 pesos = $5.73. Can you imagine a 1 hr massage for $5.73 in the US. I know Anne did a kick ass job so I gave her another 200 peso tip. As we walked back to my brother in laws house feeling completely relaxed from the excellent job Anne did I also felt good about leaving her with $700 pesos in tips for both my massage and my wife's massage. She made us feel great and I'm sure she was very happy w/the tips I left for her. The Philippines is a very poor country and the cost of living is very low so I'm sure that the tips she received will help her and her family out. Thanks Anne until next time
