I'm giving this place 5 but it should of got a 3. That's only because the cook wasn't there and dude that was there, made it happen...lol On my way to Illinois for work and needed some food. Something Mexican..lol Well, found this place on the way and very clean and welcoming. And of course, customer service was great..hopefully, next time. They will have someone able and ready to cook..lolol I did enjoy my torta! Thank you NTS. read more

Not bad. Gas was about a dollar cheaper per gallon than in San Diego, but then as a general rule…read moregas is a dollar cheaper (or close to it) in most states I travel to. I was road weary and needed a restroom break and fuel stop. I filled up my tank, used the restroom then took a 4 hour nap in my car. Noone bothered me. I left when I was rested. Over all not a bad experience. I'd stop there again on a future roadtrip.

What they do offer is tacos, tortas and burritos. For the meat they had a ton of different options. I ordered carnitas but again they didn't have any. Finally after going through what they did have I ordered the tacos al pastor and chorizo tacos with avocado. If you want authentic Mexican tacos at a very good price!!! this is the place to go!! They where absolutely delicious! The meat was very well seasoned and spicy! The chorizo was my favorite. Everything made fresh.It totally made up for everything else. Not to be confused with Slickfield, which is a field full of oil. Not baby oil unfortunately…read more Smithfield was a good company, and I don't mean great but I mean good, for hams and other meats, for some things more than others, but nothing moreso than their hams. They also made good Vienna Sausage - and they still do, which is why I gave them three stars. However since the foreign ownership came in, the standards and customer service have slipped (not that they were the best in the US, but they were passable), and a lot of the ingredients have too. They also don't stand by a lot of the guarantees that made the company great. So while I give them three for now - which used to be four or five - in the near future their rating could go down to 2 or 1 if they don't discover the American business practices that made them great, and blend them with the foreign ownership capital that has allowed them to take over this company. I'm not saying American practices are the best, far from it. But in this case, when they were American owned, they were doing better by their customers.

Quesadilla meat seems frozen and warmed and not cooked. A fresh made guacamole and chips would really up this also. Year round soups might help. Drinks are great!! Don't come if you are in a hurry, even on slow days no one is quick here. Building is nice. Staff always friendly. Good for catering events also. Recommend the nacho bar. Lots of potential, if these things are addressed.
