Nu Century Arts is the brainchild and baby of Don Kinch, father of insanely talented local jazz musician Soweto and equally talented, though less well-known (currently...) actor/ writer Toyin Kinch.
As befits such a multi-talented family, Nu Century Arts promotes, organises and creates a variety of art forms, primarily music and theatre. It's live music nights, the Live Box, are always popular, and a great place to see local, up-and-coming as well as established artists.
Nu Century Arts also has a strong societal and educational ethos - its mission statement is to 'make a lasting difference' to the expectations and opportunities of African-Caribbean artists both at home and abroad. From what I can see, they seem to be producing and encouraging great artistic work from this community, so it seems like their mission is being accomplished. read more
