One of the biggest primary schools in the area, and possibly the best run.
An all-inclusive policy operate here, and children of many different races, religions, social backgrounds and disabilities all learn and play together.
Individualism is encouraged by a dress code that is non-uniform based. The buildings and playground are well-maintained, with lots of play equipment. The teachers and parents are gung-ho political without being prissy and they managed to recently overturn ill-advised plans to expand the school.
How about the teaching? The children are taught in large groups in the classroom and they carry out activity based learning outside of the class room in smaller groups. Friends of Kings Heath Primary School run fund-raising events. Likeable, well-meaning parents make up the school governors.
My only criticism would be that the school need to place an emphasis on neat handwriting, as there is a tendency for pretty spidery writing from the kids that I know who go there. Remember: this is not an OFSTED report! read more
