You wil receive top standard teaching there. They have a modern sixth form centre and new sports hall which they share with the boys school. I really enjoyed my time here, i was made to feel really welcome when i joined in the sixth form. The staff were willing to spend extra time going over work when you dont understand it and they have excellent extra curriculum activities

I highly recommend those that want to go to a secondary school to go to this one as the teachers are very inspirational and uplifting. There is also loads of fascinating trips you can go to, and reward schemes implemented for you to achieve your full potential. The dinner there is just awesome too, you will be spilt for choice! Students have state of the art facilities and having seen the facilities myself, they are pretty impressive. Sandwell Academy also has a Sixth Form and the aim of the Academy is to maximise student performance in all its forms. A lot of emphasis is placed on Sport, Business and ICT however the Academy do offer a broad curriculum. I wish I had state of the art facilities when I was at Sixth Form and High School. From top to bottom I am impressed with the Academy. I did have friends who went to the Academy and they themselves were full of praise for Sandwell Academy.

However the new head Jo Ward totally turned the school around. By the time my daughter started there they were on the up. Going into school now is a delight. They have a great ethos and a good learning environment. The atmosphere is always positive and I think the up-turn in results reflect that. They have become well-known in the last 5 years for the fantastic Steel band which spends a lot of time out and about in the community playing gigs for organisations and other schools. This last year they put on their first school production for 16 years which was their own interpretation of Grease and was fabulous. They have a great performing arts department which means the next few years could be very exciting They are hoping to change status to a foundation school in the next couple of years too which will send them from strength to strength.
