NO ONE picked up their phone and if they did, they advised me that they could not send a mobile mechanic out till later afternoon or next week!!!! I called S & V and a kind young man answered and told me he will be there in 30mts!!! He came down and fixed my car, which was a fancy computerized system that i would not know how or what to do. He instantly diagnosed and fixed the issue. Car started and driving perfectly. Thank you so much to Bruce from S & V automotive for coming to the rescue. I didn't have to look far as there was a mechanic around the corner. I thought it was a full service petrol station but the only thing they don't sell is petrol. They have pool chemicals, milk, chocolates and potato crisps. They also have a huge following - always good news for a mechanic. If you want to get your car serviced you have to book as there are plenty of cars parked in the forecourt of this ex-petrol station. If however, you are a female and you have an emergency, they are absolute gentleman and will look at (and hopefully fix) your car. They carry out rego checks, wheel balances, sell tyres and do normal services. They also do services at a fixed price so you know what you're up for before you go ahead.

Apart from the endless offers of coffee, time was spent looking at colours, options and at one point a car was brought down from another yard for us to look at. It is a difficult job when you don't have what the customer is after. We were very interested to buy if they could find a car that suited us and were told that there was probably only a couple of thousand in wiggle room in the costing. After getting our costing we went home and did our homework only to see that there were other dealers who had what we wanted and it was at a much reduced price. Out of courtesy, we phoned back and let them know we were going to another dealer. This is where things turned a little sour. The wiggle room turned into a gaping hole and they were up for price matching. This may suit some but did make us think that we never got their best offer up front as perhaps they thought we wouldn't check with other dealers. It felt like more of a policy exercised by this dealership rather than the salesman.

They always seem to make time to service my car, they are attentive to what I need fixed or checked & they are very reasonably priced for the work that they do. T & M have organised all my paper work & check ups since I've had my Toyota Yaris and I won't be taking my car to anybody else. They have extensive experience as mechanics and there isn't much that they haven't seen or fixed in their time. They were even able to fit a reconditioned engine into my old Corolla within days of it breaking down. Not only are they very well priced, the team there work very quickly. Rarely do I have to wait more than a day or two to get my car back, in fact I usually have it back the day of. Not only that, I have dropped my car in from time to time over the past 5 years and everything I have needed done has been completed. The car always feels like brand new when I get it back from T & M Motors and that's more than I expect from my local mechanic. If you're looking for a reliable, well-priced & timely mechanic in the St George area, then don't go past T & M Motors - the complete opposite to your token dodgy mechanic!
