They have a great selection of anything steel. Plates, bars, box...really anything you need in…read moresteel products. Don't be intimidated as the entrance is industrial looking, but you can just pull in and park to the immediate right or left. There's room to swing a trailer, but it's not a Walmart parking lot. Walk up towards the shop and one of the guys will ask you what you're looking for. They are friendly and you can pick their brains a bit. Tell them what you are doing and what you are looking for and they will give you some options and some ideas. Great crew of guys, willing to work with you and help you out. It is a steel yard, so you need to be aware of your surroundings as there are steel bits and pieces everywhere, with fork lifts moving around and such. But as long as you respect where you are, the guys will treat you right. They will help you load what you are getting and they will make sure you are all set. I can't say that I have spent a lot of time shopping around pricing steel, but I will say that I have never had sticker shock at Goldstein's. The price they charged has always seemed to be reasonable, and much better than going to Lowe's or Home Depot, (the big box stores only sell limited lengths). But all in all I highly recommend going to Goldstein Steel for all of your steel needs. I've gone there for a small amount of box steel as well as for 4x8 sheets of diamond plate and more...never had any problems with the service or selection. It's a great steel yard.

You can find almost everything you need for usable steel here. Great knowledge in the owner…read moreunderstands what you need better then most engineers call for open hours 207-839-3411

Imagine a place held together by sheer willpower, mismatched bolts, and the haunting echo of…read more"you're not meeting expectations." Welcome to Prescott Metal. I came in ready to learn, contribute, and be part of something solid. What I found was a paradox: a factory where the workers work, and the managers... well, they manage not to. The disconnect is so profound it might qualify as a quantum event. Pros: The floor crew are absolute units. These people could fabricate a battleship from a filing cabinet and still clock out on time. The collective competence of the shop floor keeps this place from collapsing like a Jenga tower built during an earthquake. Camaraderie born from shared confusion. Every day is a team-building exercise no one signed up for. Cons: Leadership is technically present, just not functionally. You'll see them - but don't expect them to hear you, guide you, or acknowledge cause and effect. Expectations are unwritten, unclear, and somehow still violated. You don't get coached - you get blindsided. If you show initiative, you're out of line. If you ask questions, you're a problem. If you say nothing, you're not engaged. It's a lose-lose-lose feedback loop. Managers tend to avoid floor involvement unless it's to criticize something they didn't explain to begin with. Accountability is lopsided. Mistakes on the floor? Your fault. Broken process from the top? It's complicated. Concerns are met with vague reassurances or silence. Real decisions seem to happen in rooms you're not invited to - and sometimes, they don't happen at all. Floor input isn't discouraged directly - it's just ignored so consistently you eventually stop offering it. The most reliable system in place is the unwritten one: keep quiet, stay out of the way, and hope no one notices you doing someone else's job better than they do. Bottom line: Prescott Metal keeps moving not because of strategy, vision, or leadership - but because the people on the floor refuse to let it stall. If you're expecting direction, clarity, or a team you can grow with, be ready to find those qualities in your coworkers - not your supervisors. This place doesn't run on management. It runs on muscle memory, frustration, and the silent hope that maybe - just maybe - someone in charge will look up.
