The dancers were good, very professional, choreography ok. My FAVORITE dancer was by far Yoshiko Kamikusa who is a founding artist. As a former dancer myself, I was totally captivated by Yoshiko. She was strong, graceful, flawless, and absolutely stunning. I enjoyed the evening and applaud the Ballet company. I hope to see them again.

It seems as if two groups were starting within 30 min of each, and so extra littles were just hanging out for 30 min. People are coming and going. Door remained locked and parents didn't go past front entry, but for this newbie mom, I had to wait in the hallway for 5 min just to make sure my daughter didn't come out crying from too much going on....after a year of the class, even experiencing a questionable photoshoot day, I still feel they have a good dance school and great way to stay involved and aware of the professional ballet dance community. If we still lived in the city, my daughters would all go, but sadly, we are a good 30 min drive away. Will still venture downtown to see a production. I was a bit disappointed to see the bottom of the pool was exposed concrete with many cracks having been repaired with white epoxy seams. There was crumbled bits of concrete on the floor of the pool that I accidentally stepped on and felt like I was walking on rocks (OUCH). The locker room was okay, somewhat maze like, and could use a face lift. I went to take a shower after my dip and it ran cold to scalding with no opportunity for adjustment in between. Such a great location and facility. With so many possibilities.

There were a lot of fantastic groups performing. I especially liked the Calgary Stampede and the Free Players special needs group. Phenomenal!!! Saturday night were the final 12 drum corps performing for placement. I loved loved loved it!!! The performances were amazing! I can't wait to come back next year! This event is a must for anyone interested in something entertaining providing music, drums, brass, dance choreography, marching, costumes, props and so much more! It's such a fun and exciting show. The singing, the synthesizers, the theatrics are not drum corps. Now there are brief moments of slide trombones and wood winds to follow if you read the corps websites. If marching arts are what you want then fine go for it but please do not call it Drum and Bugle Corps.. That stomps on the heart and soul of the millions that had marched in a D&B corps and did it for fun with out auditions and most people not from where the corps is based.
