I visited for Noyes last week on Thursday morning and had a wonderful time. We stumbled into the front just in time for story time held outside. There were dozens of kids with the caretakers. The woman who led story time was amazing!!!!! She guided children through several books, songs, and a fun little free hour. After story time, we went inside to color and look at books. Noyes is small but mighty. If I lived in the area, we would be regulars. This place is a great place to visit and support. I highly recommend. read more

What a fantastic library! I visited with my kids for the first time due to exploring all of the library summer schedules looking for easy entertainment for the kiddos. This library is small and specifically only for children. But how perfect for mom like me! This coming fall my two kids will both be in school, but we've got a third on the way and I know that I'll be bringing him here to explore all of the toys and find new books to take home! read more

This is a great little children's library. My grandson starts the first grade at the end of August. He has been getting beginning reader's books here since June. And both my grandchildren have attended children and family activities at this branch. They're scheduled throughout the year but as part of the summer reading program there are special prizes and family fun activities. This past Saturday kids could make glitter filled balloons with baking soda filled balloons & bottles of water. The library staff is friendly and helpful. There is limited parking here with a small parking lot & extra parking on the street. If you need an additional reason to come here it is the fact that the library is housed in what used to be an adorable but small private home. Truly a hidden gem. Come here for baby story time filled with music and dance and reading. Stay for playtime after and to peruse the amazing selection of children's books. Playtime toys include a train table, dolls, musical instruments, puzzles, tinker toys just to name a few! Little toddler sized tables and chairs perfect for reading. Pack a snack and take a stroll across the library to the park. read more

This is one of the best children's library I ever been to. It's not big, but for sure it's nice and fun. It carries children books, few puzzles and toys and cartoon and education DVDs. This old yet amazing library has a nice little front yard full with trees so you can take your little one for a short snack time then come back inside for more book or play time. Great great place to take your younger and older toddler especially when they are doing their story time! They bring out the toys afterwards so your kids can really enjoy themselves before lunch and afternoon nap time. It's in a really nice and quaint part of Kensington and in a cute little house. Okay, I completely take back everything I said before. The librarians here are the best. Yes, it's a hassle that there's no parking (certainly not what you expect when going to a library) and they don't allow or have room for strollers, but it's a lovely little space. Here's what you need to know: 1) Arrive a bit early for storytime if you want to make sure there's a good spot for you to sit in. 2) There's no parking except street parking. 3) Leave your stroller in the car, and bring a carrier in case you need to park a little further away. You'll have a great time with your little ones!!! read more

This is my favorite library in the Montgomery system for kids. It's geared for younger readers and is in a historic cottage style building, so it's cozy, and welcoming to young children (some of the others I've been to have open plans which make a 2 year old's screech echo through the whole library!) This library has the best toddler and baby story times! The librarians are great at engaging with the kids and the material moves quickly enough to keep the kids attention. Parking is street only, so I tend to go to the first program of the day in order to avoid parking issues. Strollers aren't allowed inside, but there is a parking zone outside if the weather is nice. We also go when there isn't a storytime, when the toys are out. There is a good selection of imaginative play toys for up to around kindergarten age. read more
