Which means those books with waiting lists sometimes will be there. I bypassed that 4 week waiting period. I came initially to use one of their conference rooms. Which is huge and spacious. They have a discovery room which is a huge sensory play area that I use to take my littles that they absolutely loved. Teachers can also reserve the room during the week for a hour. However use caution. Idk if those toys are sanitized. So make sure your littles dont put it in their mouth. Lots of computers to use, or bring your own laptop. Wifi is good. However their printing is expensive... .15 cents for regular and i think .99 cents for color. They also have classes, especially if you wanna learn how to knit, or play mahjong. They also have reading time for the littles.

What a great library! I'm so excited to have it so close to our new home. It has a great children's…read moreselection which is number one in my book. We were able to get Set up with a library card in no time. I just asked of the front desk and minutes later the card was in my hand. My son was very happy to find Lego books, Berenstein books, curious George books, Star Wars books and many others! Also, there's an indoor play area for the younger ones which is great to have! Just outside is a terrific playground! It's mostly fenced in which is helpful. There are no swings, but there is plenty to climb and spin around on and slide down!

The Rec Center: Overall, I liked the layout of the rec center, and the folks that helped with getting a card were SUPER friendly and helpful. While I have not officially used the rec center, I was a bit disappointed with the the size of the weight room. The size of the weight room reminds of a weight room that one would find in a hotel. However, the gym did look like it had everything that one would need for a decent workout. Also, I was a bit surprised that the rec center does not open until 9 am on weekdays (and Saturday). Based on my prior rec center experiments, I'm used to rec centers opening from 5:30 to 7 am. Then again, perhaps, these hours are for the summer months. The Library: Again, the librarian who signed me up for a card was very friendly. Also, I loved how she gave me a very thorough overview of this branch's services and resources. Although I was in the library for only a few minutes, I thought it was very well organized.

The staff is professional, courteous, and helpful. But, today, I want to talk less about their regular services and more about the special way they helped the community by dispensing covid masks and tests. I arrived about 15 minutes ahead of time and the line of people wrapped all around the parking lot, down the street, and around the parallel street. I was unsure if they would have enough masks or tests for everyone in line. But, promptly at twelve the line began to move. It was quick and efficient. We wound through the entrance door and table was set up handing out tests and masks. It took about 10 minutes to get through the long line and exit through the opposite door. The library employees were wonderful. I have never seen such a large operation move so smoothly. So, if you need a book, need help searching for information on a subject, or need Covid masks and tests, Potomac Library is there for you! Thanks President Biden and Potomac Library.

I'm writing this from the perspective of a wedding guest. The gardens themselves, of course, are…read moregorgeous. If the weather is alright, guests can walk around the gardens while they wait for the reception to begin, or after dinner but before dessert begins (which was especially nice since I inevitably eat too much at weddings). The seating during dinner was a bit awkward. Unless your wedding has fewer than 50 guests, folks will be split into 2 different rooms, and the emcee will need to try to straddle the doorway connecting the 2 rooms. It was also a bit weird that the buffet line was set up in the hallway by the kitchen. And there are a bunch of other rooms that you might not really need, although I think the parents really appreciated that the hosts of our wedding allowed children at the wedding and then devoted one of these spare rooms to kids. So although the space was a bit awkward, I'm sure the happy couple will have gorgeous photos from their wedding, and I enjoyed the opportunity to walk through the gardens.
