He's a pretty funny guy and very knowledgeable about the bay, how and why the tides work, etc. He's quite the story teller and kept us entertained. You then make a short walk down to the receded bay to start the adventure. We were so lucky to have Tessa as our guide! She is a geologist and taught us so much about the rocks/formations we passed and made sure we had such a great time! When we hit those waves our raft was more like a tub it was so filled with water, but it was hilarious. After you get back the team is ready with hot showers, snacks and hot chocolate. As a side note - if you didn't want to wear your own shoes during the trip, they have heaps from those people left behind. He's owned the business since 2010. Wow! His wife, Patty was amazing giving us all kinds of information about what was happening in and around the area. The tour was about 2 hours but Morgan asked if we were on a time constraint. We said no so we took us to a special spot that took an extra half an hour to do some mudsliding. So much fun! We let our inner child loose and celebrated our good friend Brian's 69th birthday today. The Rapids were amazing! So cool to have a natural wonder take you on on an amusement park ride We had rafted at the other places, but this is definitely the one to go to. Easy to find great facilities. Although sometimes, they do not seem to have any etiquette when pulling up to the beaches on the island. The take the whole beach, so no one else can access the shoreline. It is a heck of a lot easier to move a Kayak than to manoeuvre a boat. I have personally seen this on numerous occassions. If East Coast Outfitters is reading this, please remember, some people lived here long before you started your business here. Please respect this, so everyone can enjoy the great outdoors, share the beach line, don't hog!

Moderate Hike and got to see some of the harbor and industrial side of Canada from the high point. Boat pup - Paulie - was a great addition chasing out the deer so that we got to see two sightings an older female and a baby running through the woods. There were some great small blueberries and cranberries too. Yellow mushrooms - dont eat those! After a little less than 1.5 hr hike through a small piece of Rockwood Park we were able come back to base and kayak, canoe, paddle boat, or bike boat on Lily Lake. If you have time you can grab a quick snack at the restaurant right on the water. Beautiful place to sit outside on a sunny day and just soak up some nature. Wildlife in the area - raccoons, moose, deer, insects, porcupine, skunks, birds, Canadian geese, etc.
