They not only gave me leads but also contacts w names and their #s to help us plus they followed up with me. So even due to certain circumstances we could not use their program they helped us with care and concern and we are forever grateful.

I had a horrible experience here. However, I found my amazing therapist and have continued with her…read morefor over a year now at her own practice and she's no longer there. That's the only reason I gave 1 star. the therapists only stay there for a short time until they get their own practice. It's like a stepping stone for them. Some people had very bad experiences with their therapists but i was extremely lucky. Group therapy is a joke. The owner, Joni, is not a nice person and doesn't care about anything but money. Guy, the man who is on site and runs the treatment center, is also a joke. Myself and others there had provided some feedback and requests and we even all had a meeting about how disappointed we were with the program. All he did was nod and say "i here you". Nothing changed. They do not care about anyone but money. I did not benefit from this center as I still tried to hurt myself afterward. Then I came back and they required me to go Transcend sober living in order to return, and I have no addictions and the sober living is also a joke (see my review for Transcend). Neuro feedback didn't do anything for me, complete waste of money. Do not go here unless you want to empty your bank account and not benefit or work on your mental health.

The thing about transcend recovery is that it is great until it's not. I lived at transcend for…read moreabout 8-9 months. The way this company is run is a complete violation of morals and ethics. It has been my experience that the more you pay the better they treat you, constantly playing favorites. I have seen multiple clients get drunk in the house, literally drink in front of me & offer me alcohol. (ask yourself how this happened if they supposedly check your bags every time you come back to the house?) Not only are people under the influence in the house, but when people relapse they offer no solution except consequences. The average amount of clean time someone gets in this house is about 3 months at the most. Transcend does not make clients go to detox or treatment when they relapse but instead lets them stay in the house drunk, high, and detoxing which ultimately ends in toxifying the entire community. I am not talking about relapsing 1 time or a short lapse, I am talking about people consistently relapsing and consistently receiving nothing except what previously didn't work. The entire basis of this disease is insanity !! doing the same thing over and expecting a different result. Transcend enables their clients if it means their families will pay that extra thousand dollars. People have been asked to leave the house because they had food in their rooms while other clients are bringing paraphernalia in or detoxing and sleeping here that night. One thing that is vital for someone in early recovery is to feel safe in their living environment !! Most people in early recovery don't know or understand their triggers but I can guarantee it does not help to see your roommate drinking in your face or your housemate nodding out on the back porch. Another common issue at transcend in confidentiality between clients and staff. The Assistant Program Director broke my confidentiality along with multiple other clients throughout the ENTIRE time I was living at transcend. Not only would she consistently tell clients about other clients personal information, but she would also go outside the house into the recovery community and talk about current clients in the house to people outside of the house. She did this to me and many others. I trusted transcend to keep a situation private and handle it in a mature manor only to find out she was going and telling people outside of the house that had no association with transcend what was going on. After it was brought to the attention of management all I was offered from them was " I'm sorry, it never should have happened." She continued to work there after that incident. Throughout my time at transcend I did not always feel as if they just wanted peoples money & would like to note that was not my experience the entire time I was here, however the longer I stayed the more I could not ignore the unethical violations that continued to progress even after it being brought to the attention of HR.The owner of the company gets her family and friends to leave 5 star ratings so that the average will not go down. Transcend does not want to help you stay clean, they want your money. It took me a long time to come to that conclusion because it is hard to comprehend as a person being in recovery that someone would take advantage of this situation and those who suffer from this disease as well as their families. At the end of the day this is addiction which is life or death and Transcend will enable the person you love to death.

Based on my experiences with Transcend whatever you do, DON'T SEND YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!…read more MANY MANY things were wrong at Transcend while my daughter was there but here is two of many examples. -The first night that my daughter was there she sat in the Transcend van from 5:00 pm until 10:15 pm while another client got their hair done at a local beauty school. She missed going to a 12 step meeting and did not get to eat dinner until returning to the house at 10:15 pm. The next day I contacted the house manager who confirmed that the incident happened. -The first week my daughter was there another female came and got into bed with my daughters room mate. The overnight staff were aware that the two females were sharing a bed but did not intervene. The next day when I spoke with the house manager about the incident her response was that another house member had relapsed and the two young ladies "were comforting each other". I expressed multiple concerns to the Transcend headquarters in Los Angeles with minimal or no response. My daughter left the house after 15 days and transferred to another sober living where she is now clean and sober. At $5000/month for a sober living home I expected my daughter would be living in a structured, safe environment that supported recovery. What my daughter got for $5000 a month was hours of riding around in a van while other clients were getting their hair/nails done and a night spent listening to two females sharing a bed next to her. Based on my daughter's experience, it is my humble opinion that much more harm than good was done at Transcend. This was my daughter's first time in treatment and I blindly sent my daughter half way across the country "hoping for the best". In the past I have often discounted negative reviews thinking that the reviewer did something to deserve poor service. That is not the case in this instance. Spend your recovery dollars somewhere else that actually offers the services they advertise. Fortunately my daughter didn't give up on treatment after her nightmare of an experience at Transcend but she could have, and I would be writing her obituary instead of review. DONT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO TRANSCEND!

I would highly recommend Clementine Houston (The Woodlands) if you are looking for a residential…read morefacility to treat an eating disorder. My teenage daughter has an eating disorder and, earlier this year, we were desperate to find someone to help her and our family. I did not want to place her in a clinical/hospital-like atmosphere, and Clementine is not like that at all. It is a home, and all of the staff treat you and your family like family. My daughter, who was going through the most difficult time of her life, had never been away from our family. While I was in some distress about leaving her anywhere outside of our family period, the distress that I felt leaving that first night was much lessened because they all made my daughter and our family feel at ease. They went above and beyond to provide my daughter comfort as a parent would do--even having sewed a rip in her stuffed monkey and providing a written hospital report for it to make her smile. Little things like this mean a lot! The nurses there are wonderful and kind, and treat your child like their own...truly loving them. Every single person on the staff (from the director, to the house manger, the therapists, RC's, to the cook) cares about the residents there and they do a great job of keeping the family updated. They engage the residents there in activities outside the home (such as restaurant outings and other fun outings) to work on their exposure to real-world situations and prepare them to return to life outside their home. There is even group therapy with all the residents and their families combined to get support and perspective outside of your own family, and my family grew quite close to several of the families there (and have since kept in touch with them). My daughter grew during her stay there in so many ways, and she continues to talk fondly about Clementine and use the principles she learned there. Dealing with an eating disorder is one of the hardest experiences that an individual and his/her family can experience and, by the time treatment is sought, everyone involved feels as if they have been through a nightmare. Clementine is there to help and treats everyone who walks through those doors with love and respect. It is so nice to have such a nurturing place to land when going through such a difficult time.
